Chapter 183- A Weird Place Part 5

Finally, after a couple of days of continuous traveling, they encountered another human settlement again. This time, it was a village.

The village seemed to be an agricultural village as many plots of land filled with paddy, corn, wheat, and other plants that could serve as the staple foods. Many horses and cows could be seen being dragged by the villagers to help plow the fields.

They decided to drop by here for a few hours not to restock or anything, but to observe the place to see whether this village had the same odd practices and behavior that they found in the previous small town.

If they found the same, that meant that odd behavior, language, and all didn't only occur in some small and isolated parts in the region but had already developed into some kind of local culture and traditions.

Which was pretty unnerving and fishy as not respecting the ten great families and Zahard Empire or even mocking them in public was basically a death wish, they were ruthless to the core against their subjects, after all.

If one or two people did that among hundreds or thousands of people, that was normal as people had their own feelings and opinions. But if that happened to many people even reaching almost all of the residents in an area?

That was definitely out of the norm and was something to be noted.

Liu Guanyi and Adori just couldn't shrug off the uneasy feeling and premonition that they felt about these people. So, they decided to check out whether this village had the same odd practices among its people.

To really ensure that they would get the real reactions from the people, it was time for Adori to act her part.

Usually, Adori didn't put on the attributes of the Zahard Family and only wore casual clothes. But for this moment, she put on a black and red robe with a big symbol of three red eyes on the back and a special red hairclip with the same logo.

What she wore was pretty eye-catching, especially combined with her beauty and her sparkling long silver-white hair. Seeing this, Liu Guanyi smiled in satisfaction, this should be able to do the job.

Well, now, it was time to act and fully exploit her status as a princess of Zahard!

. . . . .

In the fine morning, in a remote village, the farmers were tending their crops diligently while the rest of the villagers were doing their own morning activities.

They were simple and honest people, they only hoped that today would be a good and uneventful day just like yesterday, the day before yesterday, and practically all the days they had experienced in their lives.

Well, unfortunately for them, today would be a little different and more eventful, a bit more than they would like it to be.

As they were just doing their regular activities on the fields, suddenly, they heard heavy and rhythmic sounds of footsteps approaching closer to their village, becoming clearer and louder. They couldn't hold their curiosity and turned their heads to look at the source of the sounds.

There, near the entrance of their village, they could see a huge white tiger walking slowly toward their direction. Besides the huge tiger, stood a tall man with long black hair. His appearance was impeccable and his body seemed to be perfectly built, radiating a powerful aura.

In the back, a short-sized yellow-haired young man was tailing the tiger, seemingly guarding it from behind. However, the most conspicuous and eye-catching was the person who sat atop the white tiger.

She was a gorgeous young woman, especially since her beauty was complemented with the elegant black and red robe that contrasted with her sliver-white hair. None of the villagers had ever seen a woman as beautiful as her.

Seeing such breath-taking beauty, they couldn't help but be stunned for a moment.

Her charm was well above the roof, especially since this place was pretty backward and likely isolated so the people here never had seen any lookers and beautiful women on the level of the members of the ten great families.

Many of the youth were still entranced by their looks as they stared with both curiosity and wonder but the elderly managed to control themselves shortly. They were much more experienced and shrewder than their youth, after all.

They knew that the three people weren't just nobodies nor they would visit their little village for no reason. This was proven easily from their clothes and mount.

They could guess that the woman sitting on the tiger was some kind of Lady or Mistress which hailed from an important family or organization in the central area of the tower.

However, they didn't feel too worried about it.

Although they had such a big tiger and imposing appearances, they didn't feel any kind of dangerous or sinister feelings from them. Instead, they felt hospitable and peaceful, especially the tall young man who had amicable as he looked back at them.

Knowing and sensing all of this, an elderly man walked forward in front of them.

He bowed his head slightly and spoke with a raspy voice. "Greetings, outsiders from afar. If you don't mind, could you tell me what is your intention to come to our remote and humble home?"

Hearing his question, the tall young man spoke something as his lips moved. However, he couldn't make any heads or tails about what he said even if had heard it rather clearly with his dull hearing due to his old age.

"Sorry, it seems I have trouble understanding what you said-"

The young man gestured with his hands to stop him. He seemed already understood his problem without him explaining it further. He took out a small black ball and motioned him to touch it.

Examining the ball and finding there was nothing suspicious about it, he didn't have the reason to reject the amicable young man's request.

When he extended his right hand and touched it, the ball suddenly vanished for a moment, surprising his poor heart, before immediately returning as it magically hovered beside him, giving him a sigh of relief.

Must have been a new technological device from the central part of the tower, he guessed.

"Now, you can understand me well, old man?" He heard a voice coming in front of him, making him look upward as he saw the young man speak and impressively, he could understand him very naturally!
