Born into one of the wealthiest families in the country, Layla Rosenzweig's true identity is taken away at the time of her birth by the mistress of her father. Then, she is forced to marry her ex-boyfriend's ruthless uncle, Lucius De Salvo, the most terrifying man in the country. Lucius De Salvo is known for his ruthless ways to get his work done. His name is enough to terrify people. It is said that he is a man devoid of emotions. He will find pleasure in people's pain and misery. He loves to torment those who come under his radar. But why is he so lovely to Layla? Or is it just a pretense? "Are you ready for the wedding night, Darling?" Lucius asked. “I've desired you for a long time.” “What?” Layla was shocked. “Why would you?” “Because you are Layla Rosenzweig. Lucius's eyes wide opened and he took a deep breath. He heard the beeping sound of the machine and felt a strange ache in his entire body. He looked around, finding the room only had a dim yellow light turned on.
"Layla," he murmured hoarsely, the name escaping his lips like a prayer. Panic began to bubble within him. Struggling against the wires and mask tethering him to the bed, he pushed himself upright.
"Layla! Layla!" His voice rose, filled with desperation as he clawed at the oxygen mask, pulling it away.
Outside the room, Roger, his ever-loyal confidant, heard the commotion. Without hesitation, he slid the door open and was met with the sight of Lucius fumbling to yank the IV needle from his hand. Roger rushed to his side, gripping his wrist firmly yet gently.
"Boss, please! Calm down!" Roger urged, his voice laced with concern. He pressed the call button on the wall to summon medical assistance.
