Tower of Infinity [4]

( Inside the cave )

Ray was tired because of all the things that happened today. First, he travelled from the Avalon to the outskirts of the human domain and then almost died fighting two Goblin bosses.

At this point, one would think what could go worse than this but then he got sucked into the Tower of Infinity and fainted out. Ray didn't know this, but in reality, he was out for three days.

After that, he ran into a horde of goblins, and at the end of the day, his will gave in. But because of his father's words, he now had a stronger resolve than ever.

As soon as he drifted off to sleep, he found himself in a grassland covered with tall grass.

"Where am I? Why does this place look familiar to me?" Ray said while observing his surroundings. He had a puzzled look on his face. The last thing he remembered was sitting in the cave thinking about his family and his past life.

"Aah man, I really cried like two years old," Ray said while hiding his face in embarrassment. He had been running away from the truth from the time he entered this world. But now he has accepted it.

And just like his father said to him, he's with him. So he wasn't going to give up anymore.

"I'll get stronger than ever and find out how I ended up inside a novel," Ray said with a solemn look while clenching his fist.

"But first of all where am I?" he said while looking at his surroundings again. The grassland was surrounded by huge mountains on all four sides. They were so big that their tops were covered by clouds.

A cold breeze was blowing all over the grassland. The tall grasses fluttered in the wind as if they were dancing to its tune.

"Damn man it's way too chilly here," Ray said while massaging his hands. Even though he was feeling cold here. He was someone who had control over the ice element.

One could call him the child of ice and they wouldn't be wrong and even he was feeling cold. Ray couldn't dare to imagine what would happen to others if they got here.

"If my guess is correct, they would freeze to death. It's almost -200⁰C here." He said and looked towards the sun. Even the rays of the sun were feeling cold.

The weather seemed too suspicious to Ray. He was getting curious about what was causing such hazardous weather. He wanted to look into this matter but before that, he needed to find where he was.

"I have a knack for getting into weird places without even my own consultation. Don't I?" Ray said while sighing and walking in a random direction this time.

After walking for a while he noticed that the weather was getting colder the farther he went. The temperature has fallen to -300⁰C now.

After walking for a while, he saw a man standing in the middle of the grassland while holding a spear in his hand. There was a piece of cloth tied around the handle of the spear.

Weird engravings were marked on the spear. From the looks of it, they looked very ancient and seemed to hold deep meaning.

The man had his eyes closed. He wasn't wearing any shirt, just a pair of trousers that were too small for him. He had well-built muscles and was definitely on the buff side of the spectrum.

With a beard that seemed to not have been cut for ages, he seemed like some barbaric warrior. After a few seconds, he opened his eyes and started to swing his spear.

His slashes were sending shockwaves all over the grassland. The ground and Ray were trembling because of the shockwaves.

Ray noticed that the man was the same man that came into his mind and showed him his spear arts when he came into this world.

At that time, Ray was so mesmerised by the spear arts that he forgot about the man.

And over time he had forgotten about the scene that he had seen. He only remembered it vividly since he was a human as well and didn't have a photographic memory like certain people.

The man in front of Ray looked like a monster to him. The destruction caused by him exceeded all of Ray's expectations and from the looks of it, he was the reason why the temperature was so low.

A blue hue covered his spear and was releasing an immeasurable amount of cold mana in the air. Ray started walking toward the man to get a better view of his art. He knew that he was walking into his death trap but he didn't care about it anymore. The only thing on his mind right now was the beautiful scene before him and he wanted to get the best view of it.

The closer he got to the man, the colder the weather became. After walking for a while Ray stopped since he was shivering from the cold. The temperature was around -450⁰C now.

The man continued his demonstration for another three minutes. On his final strike, which resembled a thrust, he blew a mountain away.

'Is it already over?' Ray questioned himself while looking at the blown-up mountain. After finishing his demonstration the man didn't disappear like last time but rather looked at Ray.

'Is he able to see me?' Ray thought while looking into the man's eyes. Soon the man let out a small smile. Seeing this, Ray understood that he was visible to the man. The reason why he got so close to the man was that he thought that it was a dream.

'To be honest this place feels too real to be a dream. I am fucked, how am I supposed to escape from here,' Ray thought and started running in the opposite direction.

Seeing this the man started to laugh. The laugh was so loud that it could be heard throughout the whole grassland. His voice was echoing like thunder clouds and this scared the shit out of Ray and tried to run even faster.

But before he could run away, the man appeared in front of Ray and blocked his path. He covered a distance of around one kilometer in just a second. Seeing this made Ray's heart jump out of his chest.

He started to think about what to say to get out of the situation he was in. But soon his thoughts vanished into thin air as a threatening aura engulfed his body.
