Void Of Voices

As Relia ran around the city looking for people to help out she didn't stop complaining to Azalu. "Why am I the one out here?" "You never said no." After Xilo had spoken her name she couldn't say another word as Xelfia dragged her forward. Without any way to fight back Relia was forced next to Xilo as Xelfia's grin grew wider. "She had fun with it." "Yep." The next thing she knew she was outside searching for people who were sick to bring them back to Soaring Blades. "Not even with Xilo either, looks like Xelfia's plan failed." Hearing Azalu's laughter carry on the whole time Relia felt a bit of irritation. "Do you want to do this work instead?" It wasn't often Azalu heard Relia upset but each time filled her with a bit of dread. "I'll stop." "Good." Watching through Relia's eyes she quieted down while Relia ran around the City streets.

"Why did we think splitting up was a good idea...."

She knew Relda wanted them to cover more ground however she was still worried. This was the first time in a very long time that she had been separate from anyone. It was a strange feeling being alone all of a sudden and it caused her a lot of anxiety. Each corner she turned felt like her last but she still had to push forward. Xilo had fought back against such a suggestion at first, but Relda just ignored it. Instead she gave them a device to quickly track each other's positions. "All for the sake of others' lives...right?" Shew knew that was the reasoning behind it, she did. Now that she was out here by herself though she just didn't care about others lives.

"....I'm...going to Xilo..."

It had been less than five minutes nevertheless that didn't stop her. Looking down at her device she followed the dot. If Relda really wanted their help then she would have to deal with it. "Oh, Getting some aggression in you, I like it." Watching Azalu take a little charge she smiled, it wasn't something Relia was very good at. Floating around in her little space she left Relia on her own after seeing that as she stared at the void. "Someone of our status should never back down." The void of voices and darkness along with Azalu herself was living proof of that. "Out of all of us, Relia is the most different." Maybe that was the reason Azalu ever found an interest in her from the beginning.

"If I didn't, maybe I'd be a part of the void. Trying to force my way back from the depths."

Hearing the faint hallowing of pain coming from over a thousand voices and lives Azalu sighed. "They're getting closer to escaping." After their last attempt they had done a pretty good job at tearing apart Relia's mind. "Xilo had helped a bit unknowingly but that won't be enough." Relia was permanently drowning and that was something that would never change. This was her fate the moment she was born and it wouldn't change. "One day you'll drown. Don't worry though, I'll be the one to take you under." A small flame lit up in multiple colours before she flicked it towards the void of voices. Hearing their screams of pain, Azalu enjoyed the sound of their suffering.

"We've all had our time, None of you are going to get a second chance though."

Saying that out loud she heard a chorus of screams that formed a sentence.

"...Oh...you'll get a....second...chance and not us..?"

Thousands of voices spoke out at once in broken words that scraped at their throats as they burned. Female and male, different goals, different lifes, none of it mattered at that moment. They all had one goal and they would never let the traitor get her hands on it. The spark of life and a chance to start over once more. It was something none of them wanted to pass up even if they had to destroy the next person in line's mind to get it. In that mindset Azalu wasn't any different, she was still a traitor to them all though.

"..A game...of...pretend...just...for..a life....At..least...have...some honour."

"Heh, honour? What's that, I lost it long ago just like all of you. You cling to someone else's life hoping to extinguish it and take it for your own. You are all far from better than me and don't think otherwise. Just because you used to be important and all powerful doesn't mean you are now. We're all on the same playing field now. I just happened to be the first of us and I swear I'll be the last."

"...We've fought ourselves...many times..."

"Yes..yes we have, far too many times. Which is why I've decided to end this vicious cycle. No one else deserves to be a part of us or this."

"...Coward..Traitor...You'll kill her..too."

Melancholy filled her voice as she watched Relia meet up with Xilo.

"I know, that is the plan."

Seeing Relia by his side again so soon Xilo was a little confused, they were supposed to separate after all.

"Hey Relia, What's the matter?"

"No...more..separation, let's go together."

Almost saying something stupid Xilo held his tounge as he smiled and grabbed Relia's hand.

"Sure, I'd like that. Let's help out this city together. Sorry I had you separate earlier."

"..it's okay..."

Taking a hold of Xilo's hand, Relia felt a lot more calm suddenly as they walked. Running around the two of them together looked for any people that were still sick. Once they had found someone Xilo would pick them up and run them back to the Soaring Blades Clan area and drop them off before returning back. Spending the next few hours the two of them repeated that as they helped a few more people. Eventually night came and it was around the time they would be stopping.

Enjoy.
