A large pair of wings soared through the air as the ground came closer. The giant wings were running out of power, if the bird wanted to live it would have to hit the ground. Lowering itself a bit at a time the bird saw the trees come straight for it. Branches and leaves scrapped against the bird's skin with each trunk it smashed to pieces. "That hurts." After crashing through hundreds of trees it's large body hit the ground and slid across the ground. The bird was eventually forced to stop once it smashed into a mountain creating a small cave. She could feel her power dwindling by the moment.
"I...need to rest."
Ragged breathing was the only thing left to give her any sense of company. Everything else wanted to kill her and take her place. All of the voices she had trampled over were coming back to bite her in the butt. "Looks like you won't stay down forever." A massive headache throbbed constantly as she looked at her surroundings. "I think I'm safe for now." Eventually she would need to start moving again, she had forced this situation way too soon and there were a lot of instabilities because of that. "Maybe Relia's voice has mixed into everyone else's." The thought of Relia sitting there tearing at her own head strangely comforted Azalu.
"Don't be silly, I killed her. She hasn't come back and she won't. Not until our next life at least...."
Azalu's voice stung with pain as she said that. Her goal was to end this cycle of constant shifting lives, so if she failed now then she had killed her friend for nothing. The refusal to let Relia turn into one of those things though is what kept her going even through all this suffering. "For years she suffered worse than I." If Azalu couldn't even get past this little road block then could she really call herself the Queen of the world. "Our kind..." Had been entirely wiped out and she was the last living survivor.
"A creature that supposedly never dies has been wiped out....How did they do it?"
For thousands of years that question had haunted her memories for more than one reason. "I need to find that bastard." Azalu could feel the voices in her gnawing at her. "You...Killed..Her." "Shut up." "Lies....Traitor..." "I said shut up." Power edged itself into her voice as they went silent for a moment. That only gave her a brief respite of silence before they came back stronger than before. "No...Better than...Us." Growing silent Azalu couldn't find the power in her to deny them anymore. "They're right...I could have done so much more." Instead she took complete advantage of Relia's kindness and destroyed her.
"I'm...tired."
Closing her eyes Azalu ran away to the world of sleep to try and escape the pain. It was her only option at this point, until she was able to move again. Her large body fell asleep and regained some energy while the world moved around her. A small creature lurked around the cave after hearing all the noise Azalu had caused. Its slim hands picked up a branch as it looked at the destroyed forest. "H...uh?" With the broken language it still understood it saw a large light up ahead. Following the trail of destruction the creature didn't know where to run anymore. No matter where it went people tried to kill it.
"I'm...Monster?"
It didn't really understand what that meant but the creature figured it was something bad. "I hide." Getting closer to the light it saw a giant bird inside of a cave all by itself. It was an Astral beast it had never before, a creature that was entirely covered in flames and as large as a small hill. Trying to hide its presence with the little energy inside of its body it used the memories it had from Xilo. "Be stealthy..on Approach." If it wasn't for the memories it had taken that day from Xilo it would have never been able to survive. Combined with the Darkness it was able to hide away from a lot of its pursuers in dangerous situations.
*Creaccccckk*
"Oops."
Stepping on a loose branch, its foot completely broke it on contact making a noise. "Run!" Without a doubt the Astral Beast in the cave would wake up and come after that. Everything else did the same and even if this beast was more unique the creature was positive it would do the same. In a second Azalu's fiery eyes opened upon hearing that noise. "Who's there." Looking outside of the hole she had created she spotted what looked like a giant mass of Astral beasts that had combined into one being. "What the hell is that?" Pressure left Azalu's body that stopped it from running as she peaked her head out of the cave.
"Who are you...?"
Azalu thought about running the moment she was found but the creature didn't seem harmful. "I don't think it's after me...and it feels familiar in ways." That strong feeling made Azalu stay and try to talk to the creature. At first the creature tried to run with every single body part it could. It even looked through every single memory it had to try and escape. "Oh no." Cowering back it tried to hide its face as it panicked. In the face of such power this was the end of it. When it heard the large bird talk though it thought it heard a familiar voice.
"Huh...?"
It was a voice she had never actually before but had memories of it deep inside of her.
"I said who are you creatures, answer me or you will perish."
Hearing it again confirmed the small creatures thoughts as it looked at the bird.
"...Relia?"
Azalu's heart stopped in an instant hearing that name so suddenly.
"What the hell did you just say?"
