That Day

After Walking into the back door and entering the familiar room Xilo saw Xelfia still peacefully breathing with no sign of waking up anytime soon. Seeing her though helped him calm down as he felt his thinking clear up and his emotions settle down as he took a seat next to her bed. It seemed Tearia's grandmother wasn't here at the moment but he preferred it that way for now. Right now he didn't want to deal with people if possible.

"Ha...."

Letting out a tired sigh he was slowly realizing more and more how difficult it really was to be around people and it made him a lot more tired than he thought it would be. Back in the day he use to see people running around carefreely with others as if it was the easiest thing in the world to them and maybe it was like that for him at one point as well but after so long and after growing up he had changed so much and forgot what it was like. Even if he took the past little bit into account Xelfia had only been knocked out for about a day now he was already feeling more stress and pressure than before when talking and interacting with others.

Though the feeling was oddly familiar but he couldn't quite place his finger on why that was the case. If only he hadn't experienced one of his anger spells though it might not have happened like it did today back at the Astral Zone. But maybe he was being too hard on himself. There was only one other time in his life something remotely similar had happened and that was a long time ago and although his memory was quite a bit foggy he still remembered that pure expression of terror and fear run across their faces when it happened. The thought of it happening again terrified him but with the same thing happening more and more he was beginning to think it's was inevitable maybe

"Monster eh?...not like they're wrong really."

One day back in the Fiery Clan he was running around in search of someone or something but he couldn't quite remember what anymore. All he knew was that he had already begun to be hated by everyone around him at that point and he was slowly falling into what he had become today. While running through the different halls and courtyards looking around though he eventually heard faint shouting in the distance that he hadn't heard before. Curious about what it was at the time and not knowing any better he decided to follow the voices. Following the sounds of multiple voices and shouting he went down hallway after after hallway until he eventually stumbled near the outskirts of the clan area and could finally hear the voices more clearly but still a little blurred.

"Still....Him?"

"What....You Even doing..."

"She.....that..."

"...So...If...Do..."

Hearing jeering that he was slowly becoming used to he knew something bad was probably happening around the next corner. Hesitant he stopped and wondered what he should do at the moment. He only heard children speaking but he knew some more talented kids of the bunch had already started practicing early so if he ran into those kind of kids in this place he would most likely be in for a beating or two and that wasn't something he wanted to risk at the time. Unfortunately that was also the time he had started to read books about heroes and legends and those thoughts swirled in his mind constantly at that age. So Toughening up he stepped forward with pointless courage to try and stop whatever was happening.

"Probably the biggest mistake I've made to this day."

Even to this day he still regretted ever turning that corner but there was nothing he could do to stop something that had already happened. Turning the corner he saw three boys backing someone he didn't quite remember into a corner still though he knew she was a female. Except she was bruised all over and had obviously been in a fight with the three boys in front of her and unfortunately for him they were the people he was the most worried about. Those three were a part of the talented group that had already started down their Astral Roads and to make matters worse they were the ones most responsible for his bullying amongst the young people.

Still not noticing XIlo yet though they continued to pounce and beat on the girl in front of them senseless over and over without stopping until eventually Xilo couldn't take it anymore and spoke up.

"Hey, Quit it."

His powerless weak and timid voice leaked out as he stared at their three backs slowly turning around to face him but instead of stopping after that they smiled when they saw that he was the one who interrupted them and not someone else.

"My, my look what the gutter trash brought in."

"The thing who pretends to be human eh?"

After that all three of them laughed and sneered at Xilo as they turned back to beating the girl on the ground again over and over. Seeing them still refusing to stop Xilo wondered what he should do at the moment. In his memory the girl they were beating up wasn't anyone important nor did he have the strength to stop them but hearing the repeated crunch of her bones and repeated muffled screams she was leaking Xilo was slowly getting more upset with the situation and angrier. Finally after a thought his heroic thoughts won out and he decided to try and take the beating instead for her to see if he could be of any help that way.

"Truly..Dumb...Me..."

Once that was stuck in his mind he ran forward with everything he had and threw himself at the three and jumped on their backs in a pitiful attempt to stop them.
