"You certainly did, It just wasn't what I quite expected that's all."
"Though it's a shame I can't talk in that form just yet."
Upon hearing that he got slightly confused.
"Just yet?"
"yes in the future I'll be able to do a form of communication just not yet."
"But I thought Only some Astral beasts could speak with other humans."
"To some extent yes that is true. But from what's in my memories I know that they're is a way to do such a thing albeit not the way you'd think, you just have to get strong enough then you can and since I'm not there yet I can't do such a thing."
"I see, But doesn't that mean A Lot of Astral Beasts just ignore humans then?"
When he brought up that aspect of the situation it ended up making Xelfia put on a pensive expression as if she wasn't sure how to respond to his question or maybe didn't even know in the first place. Realizing that he made a mistake he quickly put himself into a panic as well because in the end he might've asked something he shouldn't of.
"My bad, you don't have to answer that if it makes you uncomfortable or if you don't know. I was just curious that's all."
With that he quickly tried to brush past it to help the situation move along but alas Xelfia had other thoughts in mind for him.
"No it's fine. I was just trying to figure out how to answer your question the best way possible so don't worry."
"Best way possible?"
"Yes... you see I might not have the best of knowledge about such things or experience but I do know that the Stronger Astral beasts that can talk would most likely ignore humans for reasons."
"What kind of reasons."
Hearing that got him even more curious than before. He didn't know a lot of things in this world and one of the things he found fascinating besides his desire for people growing up was knowledge. Hell his passion to learn things is what even got him here in the first place even if he couldn't claim he was the smartest guy around he still loved to learn.
"W-well the thing is a lot of Astral Beasts have a strong sense of hate towards humanity from what I can tell and because of such things they tend to ignore them at best if they can talk and if they're the more hot blooded type they uh..attack or even kill some. Sorry if that wasn't what you wanted to hear."
The whole time Xelfia was explaining it she was nervous. She did tell the truth but she was worried he might mistake such a thing for her potentially hating him. Thankfully though Xilo wasn't as silly to think such things obviously and even if he did why would he have a reason to continue that line of thought what with her saving him it simply made no sense. So instead of acknowledging that he just ignored it and continued with his curiosity.
"Hate humans is it? I can probably get an idea of why."
"Yea it's just as you think most likely. Though that doesn't mean all are like that. Take me for an example."
"Haha don't worry I understand."
Even if Xilo himself could ignore it though it didn't mean Xelfia could and in the end tried to make it clear to him about such things just in case.
"So when do you think you can talk in your... Beast Form lets call it."
"In a couple of stages I'll be able to "talk" But it's more accurate to call it sending direct messages to you."
"and what's that exactly?"
"The easiest way of explaining it that I can think of is, You create sounds with Astral Energy then wrap a different set of Astral Energy around it to protect it then guide it towards the person you want it go to for them to hear. That's the jist anyway you can learn the specifics later on when we can do such things but for now it's just useless information for us."
"Sounds interesting at least and also slightly hard, I hope I won't struggle too much with it."
"Don't worry about it now, Now's time for you to rest ok?"
"Fine.."
Haring her say that he finally began to settle down and was able to satisfy some of the curiosity that he had for Xelfia and some of the questions he wanted to ask. If he was to ask all them though he'd probably end up never getting to sleep. He had so much things he wanted to do with her and learn together that it was just endless to think about, headache inducing even. Having said that he really enjoyed such feelings and it even got him thinking that this was what he wanted to feel and experience even if only just a little bit, it was still something at least. Which made him happy to think about.
With that in mind he unfortunately had to go to sleep and get some rest soon to help heal his body and mind at that. Even if he did no moving whatsoever today it was still exhausting for him and he was sure that Xelfia herself was probably just as exhausted if not more since she had been up the whole week watching over him and who knows what else. So at the very least he should give her a break and himself they definitely deserved it. Nesting himself in her soft body he slowly started to fall asleep while being excited for what tomorrow was going to bring for him even if he was a little nervous.
Watching Xilo finally going to sleep after being with him the whole day Xelfia could finally start to calm down herself. Throughout the whole time of watching him and talking to him she had been on high nerves and was extremely tense to some degree. Though she hoped it didn't show, she doubted that was completely possible especially with the outburst she had near the beginning. But now she could finally let every go and stop worrying so much because he at least finally woke up and she even got him to get her to come along with him which made her really happy. At the same time she also felt tired herself she may be able to run on fumes a lot longer than most people but she still needed rest herself and she was running on empty so much so that she herself also ended up falling asleep peacefully while holding Xilo in her arms.
All the sounds of the forest had quieted down as if giving them the peace and quiet they finally deserved except the occasional small breaths you could hear coming from them as they slept together.
Writing that ending got me in a super pureish mood...Huh? Just me..Oh ok....
Enjoy
