Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. With him being ostracized more and more he became less and less of the cheerful young kid he use to be until eventually turning discreet and mute around others in hopes that they would stop being scared of him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Or will people be there to catch him if he does once again?

Making A Deal

Taking a minute to collect his thoughts Telan tried to figure out the best way to explain this to them. Even for him it seemed unnatural what they did given the scenario. Most would have just kicked them out of their town or they would have just taken them to their prison cells without question. This wasn't what the Ukel's did though, from his information it felt like they invited the person to stay as a guest of sorts. "Inviting a crazy person...What are you thinking?" With his thoughts formed he began to explain.

"I say they handled it differently from before because from what I've learned it felt like they invited this person into their home willingly and not in chains. Which is weird, most don't just do that for someone spouting nonsense everywhere they can. To further make it weird I looked into some of the stuff he was saying to people and learned he was making predictions about the future. I have no idea how true they are though."

"I'm guessing you think their family fell for the man's sweet lies then or is it something else?"

If they really took him in that would be a good reason for the sudden changes that were happening. "Maybe even why they're attacking their own people now." If Xilo was to believe for a second that these predictions were real then they probably knew something they didn't but that was a stretch. He had heard about stories of people who told the future and only a few of them actually could. A rare Astral Ability that could awaken in some but most only could use it for a few seconds ahead. It made them more deadly in combat than in telling lies to others. "There was that one though.." Thinking back to the stories he read in his town's library Xilo got a little lost in thought.

"Yeah most likely that's what happened, I've confirmed it with a few people after learning it to make sure and with the information you've all provided me I think my guess is right. I don't know what that man did to make it happen but if they're going to make trouble for this country's people then we have problems that need to be solved. Might be time the Royal family was knocked down a bit for once...."

Looking at the four in front of him currently he winced in pain as his flashed to the fifth and most important to him. "Aeon." He knew his friend was deeply connected to the Royal Family in unfortunate ways and didn't want to cause him any more pain. "I'm sorry friend but it needs to be done..." Aeon may have never directly told him what had happened but he did his own research. While it might have been going behind his back at the time, it was something he had to do. Trust was a hard thing to earn for him and with someone who was a former criminal knocking at his door he was hard pressed to just let him be by his side without a word.

"The current leader of the Ukel Family is a woman named Katrin who's soon to be a hundred year's old. She is quite new so maybe that's the reason she was so easily swayed but I don't know. For now I just want to watch and see how this progresses a bit before I make any actions. We need actual proof besides words and guesses if we want to properly deal with them. Otherwise it's just simply not enough. Which is why I wanted to ask for your continued help in this."

"Ours, why?"

"You seem to have some relations to the Royal Family and you handled this situation beyond my expectations. So not only does Tearia know the cure to the sickness you all seem to be quite a capable bunch if not a little weak still. I'm not going to ask you to rush in their head first obviously but having some extra help here and there would be nice and I can give you information when you need it. Quite a fair deal if you ask me, don't you agree?"

Hearing such sweet words Xilo put his guard up slightly as he thought about it in his head. "He's not wrong." Helping them out when they could wasn't too big a deal to Xilo and if they got free access to information then it was a bonus. This would also mean he got into Telan's good side and could hopefully grow more off that. "It's not like he's asking us to join his group or something." Thinking up too there, Xilo really didn't see a problem with agreeing, however something still felt a little off. Looking to Tearia he saw her hopeful face as he put aside his doubts. "We both want to see Felli again." Looking at Xelfia for her answer he only got a soft smile and knowing eyes that told him to make his own decision. Sighing, Xilo gave up trying to come up with excuses as he agreed.

"Fine, we'll do it on the one condition that if you ask us for something unreasonable or if I find us in danger we can back out without question."

"Adding a condition to such a nice deal eh...fine. That's not an unreasonable request. Alright now that we have gotten that out of the way why don't we move on to the other reason you're here. I assume since you're looking for another job after finishing that one?"

"Correct, We still need money and I'd like to continue doing these odd jobs."

"Alright, then I'll give you the same options as before. What one do you want?"

Looking at the papers Aeon quickly sprawled in front of him Xilo looked over his options once more as he grabbed the one that interested him the most.

"We'll take this one."

"Alright, I'll get it set up, I also wanted to ask if Tearia if she could give us the steps for the cure, if that's okay."

A little late today, sorry :c

Enjoy
