Just The Beginning

Walking back Eli kept an eye out for anyone still trying to follow them again but ever since that first group of people he had never sensed anyone else. Knowing that he just decided to enjoy his last little bit of time walking around the city with Tearia for a little bit until they eventually reached the Inn. Looking up at the inn above her Tearia stayed quiet beside her Grandfather well a part of her didn't want this to end. "It's not like it won't happen again someday." She had enjoyed the time she had spent with her Grandfather today even if it was a little sensitive at times but she didn't mind but standing around here doing nothing wouldn't help.

"Can we...."

Speaking up her desire she turned to her Grandfather.

"..?"

"Can we do this again sometime?"

With a little shock he stared at Tearia for a couple seconds without moving before it finally registered in his mind what she had just asked but once it came to him he smiled as he nodded.

"I'm sure we can another time."

"Alright."

With a small smile on her face she walked inside with her Grandfather behind her to be greeted by her Grandmother at the front waiting for them.

"Welcome back you two."

""We're back.""

"I assume everything went well."

"Everything went fine Grandmother."

"Well that's good."

For a little bit the three of them spent some time talking together before it was eventually time for Tearia to begin learning with her Grandmother again for the small time that was left in the day and like that Tearia spent the next day and a half spending time relaxing when she could or with her grandmother learning here and there until the competition was going to begin. Thankfully her Grandfather already took care of the procedures for the most part so all she had to do was show up with the stamp she received from her Grandfather and everything would be fine.

Laying in her room in the middle of the night Tearia couldn't go to sleep as she stared at the ceiling. "Tomorrow is the day eh?" She couldn't exactly tell if she was excited or worried still but that didn't matter too much to her anymore. "I wonder how I'll do." Since she couldn't sleep at the moment she began thinking of all the possibilities that could happen tomorrow though none of them ended with her winning the competition in the end.

"There has to be so many people better than me after all."

"But I can still try my best." Thankfully the thought of her losing didn't make her that upset. "I wonder if Xilo will be there?" Though maybe that was hoping for a miracle. She didn't even know where Xilo was at the moment nor did she know if he would want to enter such a thing. "He didn't particularly seem the type but that one fight he had..." From her observations Xilo didn't seem to very much like fighting but she could still remember how vicious he was the first time she had sent some street punks after him and the other time after.

"I was an idiot, Though maybe I still am trying to chase after him."

Moving her hand off her forehead she reached over to the table beside her bed and reached around looking for her ribbon. Finding it she clutched onto it as she brought it up in front of her face and stared at it as it seemingly glowed in the dark of the night. "Will you cheer me on I wonder?" Playing with it she wrapped it around her finger over and over again as her thoughts swirled back and forth from Xilo to the competition tomorrow as she felt her body fading before falling asleep. Gripping her hand the only sound that played in the dead of the night was the softness of her breathing and a very quiet voice that leaked out with a bit of sorrow in it.

"Xi..lo..."

Soon the sun was shining through the windows signaling the start of the morning and the start of the City wide competition. People all over the City began to wake up with some excitement for the day to come. Whether they were participating themselves or if they were just spectators today was a big event for a lot of them that they didn't always get to enjoy and while the city came to life with excitement preparing themselves one lone girl slowly woke up as the sun shined down on her face through the window.

Grumbling and mumbling for a couple of seconds Tearia slowly opened her eyes as she looked around the room. 'So I fell asleep after all." Looking down at her hand she also saw she didn't put away the ribbon Xilo gave to her and panicked before putting it back on her table but stopped right before her hand let go of the ribbon. hesitating for a couple seconds as she sat there in silence as her mind went blank slightly before she ended up pulling back the ribbon and keeping it for now.

"A good luck charm..." Getting up she got dressed for the day and carefully put it into one of her pants pockets and headed downstairs. Arriving down there she saw her Grandparents already waiting for her and smiled before greeting the both of them.

"Good Morning."

"Morning Tearia are you ready for today?"

"Yep."

"That's good."

After that they spent the rest of the time getting ready for today before being ready to finally leave a half an hour later. Now that the competition was starting soon they all headed out of the Inn and Traveled down the streets. Thankfully they didn't have to deal with to much of a crowd at first since there streets were usually always pretty empty but once they reached the main road for everyone they we're almost overwhelmed.

"Looks like we might have to arrive there with a different method."

Looking at the crowd Eli mumbled that out loud while thinking before he grabbed Tearia by the hand.

Enjoy
