Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Just A little More Time

Struggling Xilo attempted to get up from the floor but his body practically refused to listen to him as he forced himself up slowly. Thankfully Xelfia appeared beside him to help him out but she wasn't doing much better herself.

"thanks.."

"No worries"

Standing up they both watched as the Statue stayed motionless in front of them well recovering their strength however they could at the moment. Neither of them knew if it was over or not yet but there was no use risking it if they had this moment.

"Is it dead?"

"No idea but I don't want to wait to find out, let's go make sure it's dead."

Maybe it was already dead but Xilo didn't want to rely on chance. "That might have done a lot of damage but it shouldn't have killed it." Slowly walking forward Xilo knew if that was the truth then he'd rather take the chance to finish it off before it started moving again. With both of them moving forward with their guard up they both felt the weight of exhaustion hovering over them as they both happened to miss the slight twitch of the Statue's hands.

*Bam*

Feeling an impact hit her stomach Tearia was thrown backwards but was barely able to hold her ground as pain cursed through her stomach however this time she didn't get sent flying out of the area. "Still He doesn't hold back does he." Grumbling in her mind she watched her Grandfather approach again to finish her off but this is what she wanted. Preparing herself for his attack Tearia stayed still as he approached and got ready. "I can do this." Pushing herself forward she watched her Grandfather's palm come toward her getting ready to counter attack.

"That's enough for today you two."

Yet that voice stopped time for them as Tearia watched her Grandfather's attack stop dead in it tracks inches from her while she stopped trying to do anything as she looked towards her Grandmother in the distance smiling at them as she walked over. "It seems this fight is over." Breathing a sigh of relief Tearia relaxed her body as she wiped some sweat off her forehead. There were still a few days left until the competition began and Tearia could feel the pressure building on top of her along with each passing minute and hour.

"So do you think she's ready?"

Arriving in front of the two of them she smiled while asking her husband though she knew the answer.

"I think so, She's been practicing hard up until now after all. What do you think, Tearia?"

Turning to his Granddaughter Eli knew she was probably feeling some nerves at this point but she had got this far already so he wasn't worried. "Everyone gets more worried the closer it is to their first big event.." Though there was still something he wanted to talk to her about he wasn't positive whether it was something he was ready for yet along with Tearia. "Maybe I should..." Tossing the idea around in his mind, he played tug of war with it while waiting for Tearia's reply. Thankfully it didn't take too long for Tearia to catch her breath and answer.

"I think I could use some more practice..."

"Of course you do, but you should take a break these next couple days. If you over work yourself you might end up doing more damage than good. So how about for the next couple days you just relax with your Grandfather and me instead of more fighting. Don't worry you're doing just fine."

"Your Grandmother is right you know. For almost a month straight you've been non stop going at it. You should probably take a break now."

Looking at his Granddaughter loss for words Eli finally decided what to do as he saw her struggling to answer them. "Maybe this might not help but It needed to be done eventually anyway. She deserves to know regardless." Sighing he made up his mind as a tinge of sadness attacked him but there was nothing he could do anymore. At the very least he could finally get it off his chest a little bit and feel a little less chained down. Resolving himself he spoke up about what he wanted to talk about a little vaguely hoping to help Tearia decide to agree with them.

"Besides, Tearia there's something I want to show you if you don't mind."

"Want to show me?"

Tilting her head at her Grandfather's words she couldn't imagine what he was talking about but if he thought it was important enough to bring up now then it was probably something she should listen to. "Plus a break does sound nice." She had to admit that maybe a break was the best thing for her to do now so she stopped being stubborn as she agreed.

"Alright, I'll stop practicing until the competition. But if it's possible could I still learn a little bit from you Grandmother?"

"Sure, that's fine but only a little bit and only after your Grandfather shows you what he wants to. Sound fair?"

"Yeah, I'm okay with that."

"Great I'll leave you two alone for a little bit then. Good job both of you."

Walking away she left the both of them alone to talk with a slight hunch at what Eli wanted to show Tearia. "Are you both really ready for this? I wonder..." With some worry she walked inside to her office.

"I hope it goes well...."

But her words failed to reach either of their ears as they both faced each other silently in the training area.

"Ha.....Come with me."

Saying that he released a sigh as he turned around with Tearia following behind him. The thing he wanted to show her wasn't anywhere in their home so they had to do a little bit of traveling if they wanted to see it and Eli didn't feel like using any of his power right now. Watching her Grandfather walk away Tearia quickly followed behind wondering what was about to happen.
