Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. With him being ostracized more and more he became less and less of the cheerful young kid he use to be until eventually turning discreet and mute around others in hopes that they would stop being scared of him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Or will people be there to catch him if he does once again?

Changes Happen

It had been over a week and since that day he hadn't seen the lizard anymore. This whole time he had been sticking to his routine of going out to the forest and constantly training as much as he could. With all the work he had done since then he had made some pretty decent progress in his opinion. All his Astral Energy had mostly stabled out and he could finally fully control what he had in his body at the moment without any worries or the likes. He had also improved his fighting techniques relatively fast and was even able to get a 60cm mark into the tree while moving around and fighting compared to before.

His fighting though mostly improved in his opinion because of his naturally stronger instincts he had towards it. Whenever he was fighting and didn't know what to do or which way to move his body he would end up slowly correcting every it time he did it and slowly become better even though no one was teaching him. To him it felt like his very own body was teaching him slowly and that's what led him to believe that it was his instincts teaching him and at the very least if it wasn't that maybe he had excellent talent for fighting. He wasn't quite sure but improvements are improvements.

After a little more fighting afterwards then recharging his energy he finally fully stabilized it as well but he didn't get any decrease in his absorption rate this time around sadly. Though he was able to bring his Astral Energy further outside his body than before thanks to getting more control over it. He wasn't sure if it could help him too much at first but when he had tried releasing his energy out of his body his energy ended up slightly condensing and even increasing the distance it came out. When he figured that out after blindly trying it he continued doing it whenever he could and ended up seeing some subtle improvements which led to him improving faster then he thought he would before.

"But now that I've done this I kind of wish I could see that lizard again."

Throughout the whole week he had waited and waited and kept on waiting while looking around the Myriad Forest for the lizard to show itself but he never saw it once the entire time. With a week a searching and having no luck or encounters with it he finally came to the conclusion that it was probably avoiding him now.

"What did I do to make it avoid me?"

He was a little upset about the thought but there really wasn't much he could about it. He could keep searching but that would be pointless with the way things were already going for him. Though there has been some changes he'd felt in his surroundings. After his last fight with a Fire Charger yesterday while picking some meat up from it For the first time ever he had felt as if something passed over him and through him. But he had no idea how to exactly describe the feeling except it slightly pressured him while making him flinch slightly but after that he had never felt it again.

"It probably has something to do with my fighting I think.."

Most likely it was due to all the experience he had gathered up starting to bear fruit with all his tracking and being tracked. He figured it was most likely he was getting better at sensing things around him and in his immediate vicinity but he was just way to weak at it to really know for sure yet and even if he was getting better, if it really was something watching him it had to of done it deliberately or else he still probably wouldn't of felt it.

Though if it was hostile it would've attacked him which was the part that weirded him out the most honestly.

"I guess we'll see if I feel it again when going to the forest today."

Now that he'd stabilized his energy and gotten better at fighting he was going to start fighting a lot less Awakening Stage Beasts and focusing more on Weaker Awakened stage finally. He could also collect even more different types of meat to help explore and strengthen himself in the future when he was finally prepared to take them again.

With that in mind, he jumped from the tree he was in while waking up and heading to the forest once again for another day of training. Walking through the forest and the path he had ended up creating after all his walking back and forth between his home and the Myriad Forest until eventually approaching the colourful leaves. Though this time when he stepped into the forest a happy smile crossed his face for the first time in a long time because in front of him he saw the Red scaled with a slight golden patterned lizard that he had been looking for the whole time standing right in front of him just like before once again.

"It's been a while hasn't it fella?"

He knew it could understand him and after talking to it a couple times. Seeing the lizard again a warm feeling flowed through him and he no longer felt as silly or embarrassed as he was before when trying to talk to the lizard anymore. This could also be contributed to the fact the he already liked to talk to himself before which made it easier to ease into.

Thankfully when the lizard heard his voice and locked eyes with him it finally for the first time that he had seen given him a proper real reply that shocked him slightly. After he had said his reply and stared at the lizard he noticed that on its back its tail was slightly curved up into the air and waving side to side almost as if waving at him as a greeting. Before it had mocked him or would run away but this time it did neither and simply waved at him.

"So you're not such a mean thing after all eh not going to run this time are you?"

This time around though the lizard slightly blinked at him as if startled at his reaction until it slightly stuck its tongue at him then waved its head side to side as if saying no it wouldn't to him.

"Hoo that's good"

"This whole week I've been trying to find you, you know that yet I couldn't find you anywhere. I was starting to get worried as silly as that sounds."

The lizard after hearing didn't reply this time around though and instead slowly inched closer and closer.

"So it's this game again eh?"

Watching it get closer and closer he counted the minutes.

Minute by minute the lizard inched closer and closer until finally it was right at his feet and slowly raised its front foot up and placed in on his.

I was going to do a double today to finish this part off but I figured I'd do it tomorrow on a day I generally wouldn't.

Enjoy
