A Message For Them

Coming out of the forest, XIlo spotted Xelfia and Tearia off in the distance relaxing with their new friend. "They seem fine." Walking over to them Xilo took a seat himself in front of him as Relia came up shortly after, still a little red. After saying hi to Xilo, Xelfia turned around to see Relia's embarrassed face. "Oh? Looks like something did happen." Holding back her laughter she looked at the Astral Beasts following Relia obediently. Noticing the collar around their neck she felt a slight bit of irritation at the sight but did her best to ignore it as she spoke up. She had seen plenty of variations of it back when she was younger.

"These are the Astral Beasts you chose...they look like mutts that can't do anything."

The two dogs were as tall as Xilo on all fours, with long grey fur that kept their bodies warm. With glowing blue eyes and sharp teeth to go with it, they actually looked quite vicious. The problem Xelfia had with them though was their strength. They were even weaker than the fox that was currently next to her. She was afraid they wouldn't be of any use to them. "Better than nothing I suppose." Patting the grass beside her for Relia to sit, she let Xilo do the explaining as she eyed Relia.

"They're not mutts, from my memory they should just be normal dogs that have mutated into Astral Beasts. I think we call them Dogil's? They aren't very interesting so I don't really remember much, however I do know they have an incredible amount of stamina so while they aren't fast they can at least get us far in the long run. With not much time I just chose the first Beasts I met and went with them."

"As long as they can actually do their job I'm fine with it. Tearia are you ready to get going yourself, we need to run for a bit longer then you can finally take a break on the next trip."

"Yeah, this rest helped quite a bit, maybe I could even run the next time too."

With a bit of a cheeky smile Tearia stood up and stretched while saying that.

"Let's not get too ahead of ourselves, okay."

Poking Tearia's body slightly, Xelfia watched her stumble with ease as she bursted out laughing. Even Xilo couldn't stop himself from laughing at the sight. Flailing her arms around Tearia felt herself tipping over as she quickly tried to pull herself back up. Hearing them laughing Tearia felt a little silly but she eventually straightened herself out as she pouted at Xelfia. "Meanie!" Like a spoiled child she puffed out her cheeks as she ran and hid behind Xilo. Grabbing his back she wrapped her arms around his waist as she peaked her head out from the side of his shoulder.

"...Bullying me."

"Hmmm? Bullying? No,no,no. I just wanted to make sure you weren't full of yourself, that's all."

"Uhuhhhh."

Watching their exchange from the side, Relia and even Kirel Swapped back and forth while they argued. "This is nice." A small unnoticeable smile appeared on Relia's face as she pet the small Fox that had walked up next to her. Eventually that little show was over and their break was finished. Making sure everyone was ready to go, Xilo looked at his group that had expanded once more as they began to run. They had to go a little slower this time to keep pace with the dogs but that was fine. It let Tearia take it slightly easy as they ran to the next town on the map. Within a couple hours they eventually made it to their destination.

Repeating the same thing they had done the past couple times, they spent the next two weeks travelling across towns helping that out. With the addition of the carriage now with them things went a bit slower then Xilo would have liked, in return though Tearia got a lot of much needed rest. The two Dogs he found also proved their worth the more he needed their help especially since every town was the same story. Like that they helped out over a total of 17 different towns. "Still more to go." Laying down in the small wooden carriage they had bought along the way Xilo took out the map as everyone else slept. Every night he would let them sleep as he kept watch while the two dogs pulled them along. During this last town's visit Xilo had received a message from Dracal Hall but waited until now to read it.

Unwrapping himself from the girl's arms, he stepped through a piece of cloth that separated them from the world. With the moon shining brightly tonight Xilo took out the map as the soothing sounds of nature carried the time. The dog's stopped for a split second noticing his presence but he simply waved at them and they continued. "What exactly did they want me to read?" Reading through the note, Xilo skimmed passed the normal stuff like hello's as he looked for the important part. "Come on Telan, are you really this much of a talker." About half way through the note Xilo finally got to the useful part of it.

Reading a little about the situation they were dealing with, Xilo learned that they were still struggling but not nearly as much as before. Deaths were still growing but they had managed to slow down the poison or even cure it in a lot of people. "That's good." Reading through all of that XIlo neared the end as he read the last sentence. "Can you visit the Royal Capital after you're done helping everyone else, I want to talk there." After that it completely cut off, turning the note around he wondered if anything was on the back but he found nothing. Giving it another read over Xilo felt a little confused but eventually gave up as he folded it and slipped it into his pocket.

Sighing, Xilo stared up ahead as a question came to mind.

"Why does he want us to visit the Royal Capitol?"

Enjoy.
