"What is it, Mom?" Aashray sighed, he wasn't aware how his other hand clenched into fist, his eyes narrowed into slits.
"You took a large portion of money from your account again. What happened?"
"Nothing you should be concerned about, humph." He replied grumpily, not hiding the annoyance in his voice.
He's always been open with his dislikes, when he doesn't like something, he makes sure people around him know it. For example, being interrogated.
"I'm your mother, and I have the right to be concerned with your life. Ash, darling, I know you have your own decision and can choose your own path; however, you can't remove my right of being concerned for you. As your Mโ"
"Tsk, I know." Aashray cut his mother's words before she could even continue. He knew what she wanted to say and he understands itโbut he really can't say he used his money for Rem's bills, now can he?
"I'm doing just fine, and I know what I'm doing. You don't have to be worried, I'm not doing anything bad too."
"Sigh, don't act as if I don't know."
This time, Aashray flinched, eyes widening as if it would pop out of his eye-sockets. His body began trembling and before he could open his mouth to deny her, his mother already spoke once again.
"He woke up, didn't he?"
"H-How did you know!" He wasn't able to control his voice, making some of the people around him turn towards him with critical eyes, as if scolding him from being loud he is.
Aashray noticed none of those looks and focused on his mother's words.
"Don't treat me as a fool. I have my eyes everywhereโyou know that right?"
"...What are you planning?"
"Nothing. Once he had recovered, I'll visit him or you'll bring him to me so we could talk. No matter how disgusting he had become, he's still my best friends' only descendant in this world."
"I w-won't! I don't know what you're planning but leave him alone, Mom. He did nothing to youโ"
"Are you really going to argue with me? No matter how much you hide him, I'll be able to find him over and over again, so don't try anything funny. Catch that? And Ash, darling, visit me sometimes okay? I'll be waiting. I'm hanging up, goodbye."
Before Aashray could even retort, the call had ended. He could only massage his aching forehead and sigh.
"F*cking life," He cursed.

"It seems that Mr. Harries indeed have selective amnesia due to trauma, based on the test we had conducted. And the possibility of his memories coming back is very high, so we don't have to worry about him completely losing some of his memories. He's also very healthy, and within two months, he's estimated to regain complete mobility." Doc. Rebecca soon announced after a few days, pointing some images to Aashray, the latter nodded with knitted brows.
"Two months...tsk, fine. It will suffice." Aashray relented in the end, he couldn't force Rem to recover faster than he could endure.
Elyx was glad with the selective amnesia result, he focused on his recovery like Aashray wanted. At first he rebelled because he wanted to see his family so much, but when Aashray once again unleashed his unfiltered yelling and screams, Elyx couldn't help but to yield in the end, he doesn't have a choice since he can't move the lower part of his body. He could only silently grieve inside as he grudgingly agreed. He endured many physical therapies, the doctors ran various tests, and finally, two months have passed completely.
Within these two months, Elyx had learned many, many things about his current body, and also the people about him. Which was a very good thing.
"You're getting discharged tomorrow," Aashray suddenly spoke while they're in the midst of eating lunch. Elyx almost choked when it dawned onto him what the former just said.
He hurriedly swallowed the food in his mouth and squealed, "Wait, really?!"
Aashray's frown became even bigger, "Humph, Do I look like I'm lying, bastard? Hmm? Want a punch as a wake-up call?"
"Oh my god, finally!" Elyx giggled like a twelve year old girl finally receiving her first love letter. It prompted Aashray to roll his eyes.
"Excited?" He growled, "Are you excited because you're going back to making troubles again, huh? Answer me, sh*tty b*stard."
"Of course not." Elyx denied with a pout.

"Hey," Elyx called out in a soft voice. Aashray didn't turn around to face him but Elyx saw his ears twitching, and so he knew Aashray is listening, despite acting he isn't.
"Why are you always here with me anyway, you don't have a job or anything?"
Aashray snorted, but still didn't turn towards Elyx. His previously hunched back straightened as he huffed. "Humph, unlike you, I make millions in a month even without doing anything. What, ready to worship me?"
