4 1 - Chimerical Event

[TRIGGER WARNING ⚠️: MENTIONS OF DEATH AND S**CIDE.]

"It appears that you have a memory issue. How about your age, do you remember your age?" Doc. Rebecca gently beseeched Elyx, while the nurse behind her silently scribbled on their notepad. When Rebecca and Aashray expressed their skepticism with their gaze, a complex fear that Elyx was all too familiar with began to sprout inside his heart.

He began to notice something within his body at the same time. An unfamiliarity that Elyx finds difficult to comprehend. As he returned his gaze to the people in front of him, his heart began to race.

"Does there happen to be a mirror?" Can I please have a mirror? I'd like to see my face, please!"

"Mirror?" "What on earth would you use a mirror for?" Aashray yelled, startling Doc. Rebecca and the nurse who had both grimaced with the noise.

Elyx, who had begun to panic, ignored his shrill cry, "I need to check something! Give me a mirror or anything that will allow me to see my face! Perhaps a cellphone?"

Aashray's lips twitched as he throw a questioning look towards Doc. Rebecca. The latter bit her lips and nodded.

"Here," Aashray stretched his arm like Elyx is a person with contagious disease. With a low and soft susurrus, he handed his phone towards the latter.

Elyx didn't hesitate as he snatched the phone away and turning it towards his face, and at that moment, he knew he f*cked up.

His chest thudded, his eyes trembled, being reflected on the screen of the phone, an unfamiliar eyes he couldn't call his own.

No, these are not his eyes, face, or body.

THIS IS NOT HIS BODY!

The sharp pain in his head coincides with the rapid rise and fall of his chest. It was as if someone had smacked him on the head with a hammer, causing him to curl up in agony.

"What is going on?! Doctor!"

The last thing Elyx heard was the loud and fearful scream of Aashray.

Elyx woke up with a headache. As usual. It's becoming a routine for him. Waking up with headache and passing out with the same reason.

His head continues to throb, and he is dizzy. He has no idea how many hours he has slept, but based on the fact that he has a very long recollection of memories that appear in a form of nightmares, it is possible that he has slept for a very long time.

Remembering what he had just discovered, Elyx doesn't know what to feel. He, a man who's always been level-headed and calm when it comes to perilous situations, is at loss at this moment.

Apparently, this body he is occupying this moment, isn't his own. That's right. This body is not his own, and to be clear, this body belongs to Rem Harries, a small starlet in the entertainment industry.

He's a male (obviously), 19 years of age and a flaming homosexual. Aashray is his childhood best friend, and…he ended up committing s**de.

Elyx was able to remember all of Rem's memories. And there's one comment he had to say.

Disaster. A COMPLETE DISASTER OF A LIFE.

He doesn't know whether to pity this poor kid, or kicked him for being foolish. However, it isn't his main concern.

What he should be thinking right now is the fact that he had transmigrated into another person's body. To be able to transmigrate, you have to die first. Does that mean…he's dead?

Elyx shivered as he immediately remembered all his family members, friends and his little boyfriend. They must be grieving over his cold and dead body right at this moment.

Transmigration, a rather chimerical event that should never happened in real life. It is something that isn't possible, a complete impossible feat.

How? How did he end up in this body? And why?

Elyx never did anything wrong in his life, for him to die early like that. All his life, he devoted it on taking care of his family, rocking his career and flying up to the heavens. He never committed anything bad, never associated with the black corner of the Entertainment Industry, and despite that, he was able to reach the peak of his success.

And yet, when he's just an inch closer to happiness, everything was taken away from him like it was merely a piece of dust, swayed by the breeze away from his grasp.

Fate is really something, isn't it? When you're actually sure you'll be able to settle down and be happy, they would whisk it away from you, to make you look like some kind of a joke.

"You woke up, huh." Aashray suddenly entered the room with a skeptical look on his eyes. "They finished the test, and we're just waiting for the result. Whether you are with amnesia or not, you'll follow my arrangements. I am not asking you. I am INFORMING you. I'm the one in charge of you, since your family has long disowned you."

Elyx pursed his lips, disowned? He wanted to ask for more information but decided not to do so."…Uh, thanks?" He's quite impressed Aashray isn't screaming, unlike earlier on. It seems that he had also gathered his wits to himself.

Aashray sneered, "Now I'm more inclined to believe that you're indeed with amnesia."

"Why is that?"

"You've never said thank you to me before."

𝘗𝘰𝘰𝘳 𝘨𝘶𝘺. 𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦, 𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘙𝘦𝘮 𝘣𝘦𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘭. 𝘠𝘦𝘵 𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘢 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘙𝘦𝘮. 𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘵? 𝘉𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘵, 𝘙𝘦𝘮 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦'𝘴 𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘦.

Elyx cleared his throat, looking straight at Aashray's eyes. "Then, I'll thank you for everything you have done for me. I owe you my life. Thank you very much."

It didn't escape Elyx's eyes how the young man's eyes widened, and reddened with tears. As if noticing it himself, Aashray looks away in a manner that would almost break a neck if it's performed at a wrong angle.

"…Humph! Saying thank you because you have no one to fall back on…bastard…"

Somehow, Elyx's chest got lighter than before, as if the weight lessened by many pounds. However, it went unnoticed by both people in the room.
