Subaru and his team, consisting of Emilia and Puck entered the slums, and he was surprised, it seemed more developed than he thought, but that was probably only because of the dried blood on his clothes.

As they looked around the slums, it went very smoothly, must be because the people in the slum think that Subaru is just like that, dirty clothes and dried blood on it, he fits right in.

But in the middle puck was getting sleepy.

"Emilia, I'm going to have to go and sleep, but make sure to force me out with Od if you get in danger"

Puck rubbed his cheeks with his tiny paws as he hugged the green crystalline-like object that Emilia took out of her bosom.

"I understand. I'm not a kid I can handle myself."

"I wonder. I can't say I trust my daughter very much in that regard. I'm counting on you, Subaru."

Puck looked back at Subaru with a very passionate look, and then he waited for his response.

"Don't worry Puck, I promise that I will protect her with my life until her insignia is found"

Subaru smiles as he watches the small puck smile, his finger scratches his chin before Puck turns into a light and flows into the small crystalline structure.

Emilia looks at Subaru in wonder, why would he say that when they just met? if only she knew what Puck would do if she died, then she would understand.

"We're alone now, but… You'd better not try anything strange. I can use magic."

Not knowing what he was thinking, perhaps she thought he was just staring at her breasts. In response to her words of caution, Subaru instinctively put his hands up and started shaking his head.

"I was looking at the object, I promise I was not looking at your chest"

Subaru quickly explained, and Emilia huffed before she started walking forward, not waiting for Subaru at all like a pouting child.

"Alright, let's go. But we don't have Puck looking out for us, so we'll have to be more careful."

With a slight pity look, she turned towards Subaru.

"I'll be the vanguard and you'll look out from behind. If something happens, call me immediately. Don't try to do anything on your own. I don't want to hurt your feelings, but… You're weak."

Subaru clutched at his heart as he felt an arrow pierce through his chest, and worse of all, she was right, he probably could not have even defeated a regular knight.

All though speaking of strength, he supposed that he does have a "Skill", it is called Dash? which was created from his golden finger.

While searching everywhere, he looked for the voice that he heard, and when he called out the system in his mind, it appeared as a panel, but it only showed skills, nothing else.

So much for getting to become the strongest in the world, people like Reinhard can move massively faster than light, in a nanosecond he is done if he fights people like Reinhard.

Subaru smiled before he urged her to continue looking around the slums, she said it like it was a bad thing, but she was just worried for him, it showed as she even told him her real name.

In the original, she lied to Subaru that her name was Satella, but that was probably because he was acting weird and strange, while Subaru acted calm and maybe some jokes here and there.

Emilia huffed as they continued looking around the slums, Subaru making sure that nothing sneaks up on them from behind, with how kind Emilia is, if someone sneaks up behind her, she will probably think they are just passing by.

As the search continued, Subaru decided to look at his panel again.

Subaru sighed at his abysmal skills, but his attention went to a person, and he decided to ask some questions.

"Maybe it could be Felt. A tricky little blonde, right?"

This useful piece of information came from the fourteenth man they'd asked. He was another person Subaru had called to in an over-familiar fashion such as "Yo, brother. How goes it?"

"If it's Felt, your lost item's probably in the loot house right now. Stolen goods are tagged and stored there, and the owner gathers them up to sell elsewhere."

"Do you think he would give the stolen item back if we asked?"

Emilia decided to ask the question to the man, and he looked at her with sympathy.

"Even if the item is stolen, you would have to negotiate for the item, or he will probably not give it unless you call the authorities"

Subaru thanked the man, and the man nodded before he walked away, once he was gone, both Subaru and Emilia stood there with sad faces, they were both broke.

"I'm just retrieving what was stolen from me, why must I pay to do so I wonder…"

Subaru suddenly looked at the bag in his hand, he looked inside and all he saw was ramen, some snacks, and a rink, he then looked at his mobile with the confused eyes of Emilia.

"Maybe I can trade these items for your insignia, the man probably does not know what the insignia is, so we have a good chance"

"But... that is yours, I can't allow you to do that, it would be against me"

Emilia quickly denied it, all though she was broke, she must get her insignia back, or try at least, Subaru smiled before they went to the loot house, by asking strangers where it was.

"Anyway, let's go and try to negotiate, I might be able to take it back"

What Subaru does not say however is that if he does not give it to him, he will take it back by force, and besides, Emilia is with him, with more than enough firepower.

The two walked for 10 more minutes before they arrived at the loot house, with frustrated expressions.

"Now that we are here, how do we ask for your insignia back?"

Subaru looked at Emilia curious as to how she planned to get her Insignia back.

"I'll be upfront about it. I had something stolen, so return it if it's in here, that sort of thing."

Subaru insisted that this wouldn't work any number of times, but she refused to listen.

She was virtuous to her core. She couldn't bring herself to consider using twisted means so easily.

"Then leave it to me"

Subaru offered to go himself, after all, he did not want any danger to happen to her, what if Puck got out?

'Damn, why Subaru of all people, even Guts would be better, or Eren, at least I would have a chance, unlike normal human fighting beings that can move at speeds tens of times sound'

Subaru mused his luck as he looked at Emilia, he did not harbor any ill intentions towards her, he even felt some affection as she did save him, but he shouldn't even be in this predicament in the first place.

'Tch!, whatever, beggars can't be choosers.'
