"Hey, Aamon! I challenge you into a duel." Raising his sword up, and pointing it to the man sitting in front of the campfire, the fiery aurburn hair young man stood straight.
"Seriously?" While massaging his temples, the ashy-brown hair man took a quick glance at the determined expression of the young man from the distance. "This is the 206 times you've challenged me. And, not even once did you win."
Biting his lower lips, the aurburn coloured hair man shook his head before saying, "This time, I'll definitely win!" while filled with determination in his eyes.
Letting out a long sigh, Aamon stood up from the log he was sitting onto, and took out his sword from his waist before lowering his stance, preparing himself to attack.
"Suit yourself, Adam."
Smiling, Adam also took a stance and readied his sword, waiting for Aamon to attack. But, before he could even react, Aamon disappeared.
Jumping to the side, Adam barely managed to dodge Aamon's attack that made a light scratch on his cheeks.
"Do you think that I'll be defeated by the same move again?" Adam said as if he was taunting at Aamon.
Taking a stance once again, he dashed forward.
Swoosh-!
Adam sliced downward, but the latter merely dodged this by moving his body to the left, as he raised his sword up.
Aamon tried to take advantage of the momentum by trying to slice Adam on the back, but, right where his sword was about to reach him, Adam stabbed his sword to the ground and threw himself up on the air.
Shing-!
Adam was only a hairbreadth away from the sword, but thankfully, it didn't managed to reach him.
"Sorry, but that move won't wor-- Gah!"
As if landing onto something hard from his back, Adam accidentally fell on his bum on the ground.
"Oww... What the hell did I landed into? That's frickin rough!" Slowly opening his eyes, what he saw next made him crawl away in fear. "Ce-Celis! I didn't mean what I sa--ack!!"
Picking him from his neck, Celestia summoned a sword that was made from fire onto her hands, as she innocently let out a smile. But, it was already clear that it didn't even reached her eyes.
"Rough you say?" Pointing the flame sword to Adam's stomach, she continued, "I'll show you what's rough."
While looking at Celestia with tears in his eyes, Adam tried his best to beg for forgiveness.
"Look I-I apologize. So, please point that scary looking sword away from me!!"
Celestia only gave him a smile without any reply. So, after realizing that what he was doing was futile, he decided to go with the other plan.
"Hey, Aamon! Can you stop your girlfriend over here. Aren't we supposed to be friends?" Adam said while waving his hands to gain Aamon's attention.
But, the latter decided to ignore his pleading as he rolled his eyes to face the other direction.
"I pray that you'll managed to live another day." Aamon muttered in a low voice. But, it was enough for Adam to hear.
"No way..." Adam's expression grimaced, as if he wasn't expecting that he would be betrayed like that.
For a couple of hours, an agonizing scream could be heard inside the great forest of Tasha where Aamon and his other companions are.
"Damn you Aamon!!" Adam shouted that echoed throughout the whole forest.
*
"That guy, your father... The day when I needed him the most, he decided to betray me." The King said with a gloomy expression, as if he suddenly recalled a trauma from the past.
It hasn't been long after he finished telling me a story about their past, and his expression was like this after he finished.
"I see..." I muttered aloud.
Why do I have a feeling that this was actually his fault in first place...? Anyways, there's no point in telling him that so I let him continued.
Not long after, I then decided to speak what I've been wanting to ask a little while ago when he found out I was Athan.
"Ah!" With a sudden realization expression, he replied, "That's because of your Mana Signature. When I first visited your place, I memorized your Mana Signature the same as I did to your mother."
Now that I thought about it, I remember the time when someone visited the mansion when I was about two-years-old. It was probably him.
Letting out a fake cough, he shook his head saying, "Anyways, how's your father right now?"
"Uh...?" Tilting my head to the side, I looked at him in confusion. "I don't know... I've never met him before."
"I see... Wait, what!?" The king raised his head in surprise. While looking at my general direction, he continued, "I thought you met him two day ago?" He said so in surprised.
"Two days ago? But... that's the same day I left."
"You left..." For some reason after he heard my reply, his expression saddened.
Biting his lower lips, he turned his head aside while saying, "I see..."
Tilting my head, I looked at him confusingly.
"What do you mean?"
"No... It's nothing. You'll find it out in the future eventually." He answered my question without looking back.
***
A couple of hours has passed after the talk with the King. I was currently being led to a room by a maid, ordered by the king himself, to my room.
It didn't take that long for us to reach the room the king had mentioned. But when the maid was trying to open the door, the door was already unlocked.
Lightly glancing at me, she returned her attention back to the unlocked door before opening it.
That's when we finally saw who was inside. It was none other than William and Persia, who was currently sitting on top of my bed.
"And... what are you guys doing here?" My eyes began twitching, as the expression I was making turned annoyed. But thankfully, my face was currently covered in my mask so they could not see my expression.
"Nothing. Just visiting." William answered innocently while slightly tilting his head.
And because of this, I grew more annoyed than what it was earlier.
It wasn't supposed to be this way... If his attitude were an arrogant brat like what it was mentioned in the novel, I could have deal with it more easily.
But right now, his current innocent self is making me somewhat uncomfortable.
Turning my attention to his side, Persia, I then decided to ask her the same question I asked to William.
"What are you doing here?" I said while trying my best not to lose my facade.
While clinging to William innocently, she tried to hide herself on his back.
Damn, they're way too annoying than I thought it would be...
"No-Nothing. I just wanted to be with Wi-William." While stuttering, she tried her best to hide her embarrassment.
When William heard this, he charmingly smiled, raised his hand and patted his innocent girlfriend's head who was currently clinging on his shoulder.
Seeing the innocent couple flirting with each other in front of me, I groaned out loud, "Ugh..."
I take everything I said earlier before reaching the castle back.
Couples should just die!!
They should be burned for flirting in front of someone they do or they don't know.
But... It was also because of this, I suddenly came up with a new idea.
Since these flirtatious couple cannot fullfil their jobs of being a villain in the future, I might as well add them to my 'Price Collection' that could be used in the near future events.
I somehow felt sorry for the King, but for these two... Although they looked a bit innocent and did nothing wrong, I wouldn't normally let it slide when someone decided to start flirting in front of me... even in my past life.
It's not like I'm feeling envious about it, but it was more like I was a bit annoyed by what they were doing.
Keumm... keumm... I know the first few chapters in this novel is a bit boring, but after the Academy Arc in the future, it'll get better.
