18 Plot Diviations!

A/N: Sorry guys. I had some personal issues like death in family and hospitalization and family visitors so I couldn't write anything down fully until this week.

There was also the issue that the whole chapter seemed stilted and dreadful as I read it and I didn't want to publish such a horrible chapter.

I wanted to cover a lot of plot points in this chapter but all the characters seemed unwilling until I decided to directly skip to the training of Bonnie and Neena. And then everyone was moving.

To that one reader who kept asking me if Neena is over her fire phobia....you tell me. I like to think that she is getting better. Her using fire magic is an indication of this but is she fully over her fear...she isn't. Fire magic is something she can control, so she is okay with it. But it's going to take a lot more than a few months to get over dying by burning.

To the reader who kept saying Jeremy is straight and since I'm writing a canon insert, he should remain straight : he is attracted to girls. I know that. But this is fanfiction. I try to make it as logical as possible but some wish fulfilment is okay. Thank you for commenting your opinion though. I always enjoy listening to other people's take on their favorite characters.

I hadn't even decided on Jeremy being with Kol but now I'm giving it a serious thought because I wonder how their characters would interact. How would it work when Kol's brother has tried to kill his sister and is using her as a bloodbag and what he does to their family. It would be funny to watch Kol get cockblocked by Nick again.

There are men in their 40s and 50s coming out as a gay or bi or any other sexual orientation. Jeremy is 15 here and will be underage for most of the story. I'm more concerned with him dating people who are hundreds of years old than about his sexual orientation. We will see how the characters interact with each other and see who he has a good chemistry with.

Thank you for your comment!

As for ships. ..

1] Klaus x Caroline x Neena(Klaroleena.)

2] Klaus x Neena.

3] Caroline x Neena

4] Klaus x Neena x Elijah(The number of people supporting this have gone up in the last week. Why? I don't know.]

5] Elijah x Neena

6] Kol x Neena ( Koleena? Isn't that someone's actual name?)(most of the fans want Kol x Jeremy or Kol x Davina or Kol x Davina x Jeremy. Yeah…this is called perceptive change.)

7] Neena x Silas

8] Neena x Finn

I can't believe that Klaroleena has taken over the leaderboard.

I'm surprised by the amount of people Joining the community. Welcome to the family, we have witches, werewolves, hybrids, vampires, OGs, a trasmigrator and a trolling System. What more can one ask for.

Happy readings!

 Chapter 18

Plot Deviation!

[Ding!]

[Hidden Quest Complete!

Show me the World!

Show Jenna Sommers the truth about magic and the world around her!

Plot Deviation: 5%

Rewarded: 8000 Experience Points!]

Neena felt delirious.

'System?'

[Yes, host?]

'So many Experience Points!'

[Yes, Host.]

'What...why?'

[Plot deviations are more rewarding. The more plot deviation you cause, the greater the rewards. It's basic knowledge by now, host.]

'Don't judge me! I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that I can afford more Grimoires now! So why did Jenna knowing cause more deviation than the Protagonist knowing?'

[Elena will find out the truth within a few days time according to plot. You only deviated a little. Jenna knowing causes a lot of changes to the plot.]

Neena frowned. 'But shouldn't this have worked with Caroline then?'

[The trajectory of Caroline's plot development has very little consequence to Elena's life.]

Neena froze. 'What?'

[While Elena felt sorry for her friend, and was upset by what happened to her, it never really had any bearings on her. But Jenna knowing things changes Elena's trajectory as a character by a lot.]

'What would happen if Bamon becomes a thing?'

[20% deviations.]

'If Klaroline happens?'

[5% deviations.]

Neena shivered as a thought occurred to her.

'If Caroline dies?'

[30% deviations.]

'It's good that it will effect the plot in some way atleast. She deserves to have more impact.'

[She is part of many Plot threads.]

'If Jeremy dies?'

[20%-40% deviations. It depends on how he dies. If he dies after Elena becomes a Vampire then the deviation would be high. If it is before, it could be very high or very low.]

'If Elena becomes a Vampire?'

[Before Klaus, 60%. After Klaus, 10%]

Neena asked the real question she wanted to. 'And if Elena dies?'

[90%-99%. She is the Protagonist and most of the Plot happens because she is the doppelganger. If she dies before Klaus gets his hands on her 99%. If she dies after the fact, 90%.]

Neena almost drooled at the numbers. She suppressed the greed that woke up in her. She was not going to let her sister die if she could help it, damn it. And even though she did have the urge to shove vampire blood down her throat just to end all the headaches that would be coming their way,she couldn't do that. She couldn't force vampirism on someone who did not want it.

Damon hated Stefan for it and Neena couldn't handle that kind of hatred from her sister. If it had been in the beginning, it was a maybe but now it was a never. Not unless there was no other way.

Everyone left after having lunch, Bonnie promising to come to her the next day after Tanner's funeral.

Damon followed her out.

Caroline reminded her of the Parade the cheerleading Squad and the football were doing for Tanner's wake, insisting she had to come.

Neena stopped Stefan as he tried to follow the blonde out the door.

He frowned at her.

She wanted to keep Caroline away from Damon. She didn't trust him not to do anything.

"Can you pay for Caroline's car? Damon's the reason but I don't think he would take responsibility and I don't want to agitate him," she whispered to him,her eyes on Jenna and Elena who were scolding Jeremy for his test scores.

That boy never got away with anything with those two around.

 Stefan nodded and left.

Elena enveloped Neena in a hug.

"Hey. What's wrong?"

Elena sighed. "It's...nothing. What were you whispering to Stefan?"

" You sound jealous."

"I'm your twin sister."

Neena laughed. "Why are you so possessive?"

Elena shrugged. "Can you teach me how to make pasta?"

Neena gave her a curious look.

Elena blushed. "I want to spend some time with you."

"I'm in too!" Jeremy said. "This is an Epic battle I want to witness. Elena Vs the Kitchen. It is to the level of Lord of The Rings!"

Elena swatted the back of his head.

Jenna pulled Neena into her arms. "Me too!"

It was an Epic Battle. The Gilberts barely made it to victory against the Great Kitchen stove.

Neena laid on her bed and looked at the System Interface. Drooling over the amount of Host Points she had to spend.

4850 Host Points!

Neena browsed through the grimoires tab. So many choices. Yet not as much to spend.

Her eyes stuck to two names. Names she hadn't even looked at last time.

Ivanka Petrova.

Eliza Bennett.

Two names that she could know at least a bit about.

Two names the World had connected her to.

Neena selected Ivanka, for the simple fact that it would help her to know more about her alter ego before the timing the world has planned to show her the next vision.

'System. Buy Ivanka's spellbook.'

[Which one?]

'All.'

[Ding!]

[Host 999 would like to buy one Ivanka Petrova's Beginner spell book, intermediate spell book, advanced spell book and Scrolls of Confessions.]

'What the hell is scrolls of confessions?'

[A series of notes that Ivanka wrote as she learned magic. It's basically her diary.]

'Buy them all.'

[Ding!]

[The Purchase will cost you 4200 Host Points. Confirm buy?]

'Wait! That doesn't make sense! Shouldn't it be around 2000 something?'

[Ding!]

[Beginner Book 600

Intermediate book 900

Advanced book 1200

Totalled at 2700. Ivanka's Scroll of Confessions is 1500, so-]

'What! Why is it so expensive?'

[A diary would have all the inner workings of spells and rituals that are not available in spell books. They are basically the rough drafts before the grimoire.]

Neena deflated. 'Buy.'

Four books and a few bundles of scrolls appeared in front of her but Neena's eyes were on her Host Points. 650 Host points left. That hurt to look at. She was rich for a minute but now it was all gone. But she couldn't help herself.

Neena immediately grabbed the scrolls and unfurled it.

She laid on the bed and began to read.

The words were unfamiliar.

'System, what is this?'

[Host, Ivanka's scrolls of confession.]

'Why can't I read it?'

[It's authentic, Host.]

'I didn't ask whether it was fake or not. I'm asking why I can't read it.'

[Did you forget that Ivanka Petrova was Bulgarian?]

'Does that mean I can't read any of the books I bought?' she asked in anger.

[Of course you can read them. The ink is a bit faded but they are well preserved.]

'Don't play obtuse. I don't know how to read Bulgarian!'

[Understood.]

The System Market interface materialized in front of her.

Neena gritted her teeth. 'What's this?'

[May I present to you the Language pills! By buying a language pill you can learn any language in the world!]

'You may not present it!'

The interface closed.

[Fine. Then use a Bulgarian to English dictionary to find out the meaning by yourself then.]

Neena deflated. 'But…System, you have become a swindler!'

[The System is very honest.]

'That's what dishonest people will say!'

[Do you want to buy it or not?]

'Buy it!'

The interface opened again.

[As always, it's in Beginner, intermediate, and advanced but it is way cheaper!]

100. 200. 300.

Cheaper it might have been, but she still felt like she was selling her soul all over again!

'Buy it!'

[The total will be 600 Host Points!]

'I said do it!'

Three glowing blue pills sat atop the books. They were as small as m&ms.

Neena looked at the remaining Host Points.

50.

She was a rich person not even half an hour ago, and now she was back to having only 50 Host Points.

'So this is why even rich people say they don't have enough.'

Neena consumed the pills.

They were tasteless and she didn't feel different to before.

Did the system actually swindle her?

Neena snatched the scroll with 1 written on it up and read through it.

'I do not want to write anything down, just in case Papa finds me with the parchments again, but I can't seem to be able to keep myself away. There is something alluring to me to be able to write my thoughts down…'

Neena could read the words.

She had forgotten that there was a time when women weren't even allowed to be seen with paper and Ivanka's words poured cold water on her head.

She looked at the grimoires strewn on her bed.

These were the writings of a woman who was brave enough to do something like write at a time when she was forbidden to.

Neena read through the scroll.

Through it she found out a lot about Ivanka and the Petrova family as a whole.

Ivanka was not the twin sister of Katherine. She was the big sister and she was actually 2 years older. She had been friends with Elizabeth Bennett since childhood. She had always been fascinated about magic that the Bennett witches used, unlike the travelers. Then she began to show magic at the very young age of 11. Most of their family saw her as an asset.

She began learning more about magic and the magic she used she shared its secrets with Elizabeth who was just as fascinated with the Travelers brand of magic as she was with the witches magic.

Reading between the lines, Ivanka and Elizabeth seemed a bit more…closer than normal.

The scroll talked about their other sister. Zhyna. Who was already married to some noble man even though she was only 14. A year older than Ivanka.

Their mother was sick most of the time and their father was too busy trying to find remedies for his beloved wife that he didn't have time to spare for his daughters.

Ivanka was the one who really took care of Katerina with their mother.

Katerina was the darling of their family because she almost a stillborn. To the Petrova family, Katerina was their real miracle.

Ivanka kept worrying about her sister's blissful unawareness of the kind of world she was born into because their family coddled her.

Neena put the scroll away and stared at the ceiling.

The Katherine in Ivanka's scrolls was naive compared to most children her age. But she seemed to love her sisters a lot. She was so devastated by Zhyna's marriage that she ended up sick and mother Petrova spent days sleepless trying to bring her fever down.

Neena wanted to know more about the Petrova family now but she decided to get some sleep. She had plans she had to execute the next day.

Neena woke up to her Phone ringing.

"Hello?"

"I'm downstairs. Come out!"

"Bonnie? What happened? Why are you calling me so early?"

"I really want to learn magic?"

Neena frowned. "Damon's with you, isn't he?"

"I told her I didn't want you to come," Damon said into the phone. "But she insisted."

"I'll be there!"

"Don't!" Damon said.

"Okay, bye!" said Bonnie. Neena heard her laugh as the call cut off.

Groaning, she got ready and went downstairs.

Elena was leaning against the door frame.

"What are you doing here so early? It's only 6 in the morning! And why are you standing against the door frame like a bad boy of romance novels?" Neena asked.

"Where are you going so early in the morning?" Elena asked with a glare, ignoring her romance comment.

"Bonnie called. She wanted to learn magic!"

Elena observed the excitement on her sister's face. She slumped against the wall. Her sister had to suppress who she was for so long. It made sense for her to want to spend time with another witch. But Elena didn't like it. She didn't like the fact that everyone else got more Neena time than Neena's own twin sister.

"I'll come with you then! I want to see you perform magic again!" Elena declared.

Neena was about to decline when she saw Elena's expression. It looked extremely hopeful. It was the infamous Elena Gilbert Puppy-dog eyes.

"That…that is…um…"

"I can come right?" Elena asked in a small voice.

"Of course you can! In fact, you are driving me there!"

"Great!" Elena said with a triumphant grin and walked out.

Neena blinked.

"You just got duped into agreeing with her," Jeremy said from behind her with a laugh. "And I'm coming with you too! I want to see you perform magic as well. I even made you jelly sandwiches for breakfast and wrote aunt Jenna a note saying where we will be and stuck it to the Fridge."

Neena pouted. "Look at you being a big boy. I have manipulative people for a family!"

"Deal with it!" Jeremy said, handing her a duffle bag and dragging her out the door. "I even called Caroline while I was at it to sweeten the deal!"

Neena wanted to cry. What happened to her plan of staying away from the main cast members unless it was for a mission? It seemed the main cast would never leave her alone!

The three reached the Grill and found Damon and Bonnie waiting for them at a back table.

"What is he doing here?" Elena asked.

"He tagged along with Bonnie," Neena said.

"You knew he was coming?"

"Yeah?" Neena said.

"I had to force my company on you!"

"You are dead," Jeremy whispered to Neena.

Neena gave a strained smile. "Let's go to the woods after finishing breakfast. It's more spacious and…secretive."

"No way. I thought we were doing this in the Grille," Jeremy said in a mocking voice. "It is such an innocuous place to practice magic. I always thought so."

Damon smirked.

Bonnie rolled her eyes.

Neena jabbed Jeremy in the stomach with her elbow.

They had breakfast, the whole time of which, Elena glared at Damon and then Neena, sitting between them.

Neena sighed. She was innocent, damn it! Damon was being Damon and now she was the one in trouble.

Jeremy had a perpetual grin on his face.

Caroline joined them as they were leaving.

The blonde came up to Neena and pulled her into a hug and then punched her in the arms. "I can't believe you were having an all group meeting and didn't invite me!"

"Or me!" Stefan said with a grin on his face. "Elena called me. Something about my big brother trying to abduct her little sister. I had to come in. Hope you don't mind."

"Stefan!" Elena scolded him with a blush.

Damon put his hands around Neena and pulled her to his chest. A soft scent teased her nostrils making Neena want to bury her face into his body.

"My God Elena. However did you find out about it?" Damon asked. "It was a good plan to! Isn't that right, sweet Neena? You don't mind me kidnapping you, right?"

"Um…" Neena blushed. Dear God, she was not made to be put into this kind of situations. "I like my sister and family too much to allow myself to be kidnapped. Sorry Damon."

Neena was torn out of Damon's embrace to behind someone else. Her face was hit with blonde curls as Caroline hid her from Damon's sight.

"And there is really no need to manhandle people without their permission!" Caroline said to him.

"You can manhandle people with their permission?" Neena asked in confusion. "Doesn't that defeat the purpose of manhandle?"

She felt someone pat her head. She followed the rough hand to a pair of forest green eyes.

"Stefan?"

"It's alright that you didn't know it."

"Anyway," Damon said. "They don't need a hero, brother. You can go now."

"They are all teenagers," Stefan said to him with narrowed eyes.

"And you are in your mid-twenties," Neena said to Damon. Stormy blue eyes looked at her curiously. "But I guess it's fine. We're losing time. Let's go already!"

Everyone got into their rides and left for the woods of Mystic Falls.

A/N: This was difficult chapter to write until I agreed to add all of them into the scene. So a scene that I planned for Neena and Bonnie to bond over has become Neena and the Scooby-Doo gang. Sometimes I not only question my writing skills but also my sanity.

As usual, thank you for your love and support. The number of you who love this story is overwhelming to me. When I wrote this with the System and the World plot, I didn't think there would be as many lovers of the story as there is. And many of you are not readers of this perticular genre so it makes me happy that the story has made you stay. Thank you. Really.

Also. Don't forget to leave reviews of the story overall, and chapter comments. (you can curse the author for late updates in those!)

Thank you! Stay safe! And keep up the social distance!
