Chapter 5: The Dance

Perseus POV

"Mom, look, I love you, I know why you want me to make friends instead of cooping up at home, but I'm happier this way."

"I know. It's not like we're stopping you." mom Nyra sighs and then cupped my face "It's just I want you to get out more, cooping up isn't healthy, you need balance."

"I exercise."

"You need fresh air, you're already smarter than, heck both of us combined, do you really need to learn more."

"You know that's not true, just last week, I thought the world was flat."

I need to play the role guys.

"Just take a compliment, will you? You little-" she said as she pinched my cheeks "Come on, class is starting, all of us are dancing with you. There is a worse hell."

"I know, it's called Florida."

"Huh?" she gave me a questioning look

"It's a state I made up in my dream, we can also include Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, New York, all of New England..."

"That's very creative of you." she commented

I was then forced against my will to place the book back where it belonged, though I did manage to peek at the section of the black rose a bit, there was no factual information, only speculation since the only reason why it is known to exist was in the painting from ancient times.

It is basically a picture of the moon god giving a bunch of roses wrapped in cloth to the sun goddess, the colors of the original roses are red, blue, yellow, purple, green, yellow, orange, white, and black.

I'll get back to that later, I guess. I was then held by the hand to walk with mom Nyra where she introduced me to one of her friends, who is joining and if I'm not forgetting what I overheard, she can came here to try and get a date with a guy.

Maggie, I don't know her last name, the same age and was in the same class as Mom Rylee, 172 cm tall, she got dark brown skin, dark blue eyes and black hair. She also works at a nearby library which I will have to know her a bit since I will need to go there a lot in order to learn more about this world so I didn't fight this.

"Hey Maggie, where's Rylee?" mom asked her

"She went off to help prepare the class with your mother in law." Maggie replied before crouching to meet me at an eye level "Is this the little miracle?"

Again, I feel super comfortable staring someone in the eye, it's just what and who I am, I guess, my therapist did guess the problem and she guessed it correctly. I just don't like talking about it since it was connected to the time I was in that project. I can usually make do by looking vaguely above their head, they won't notice the difference.

"Miracle is a nice way of putting it, it took us 3 years worth of tries." Mom Nyra replied "And it seems like we got a smart one, we still have to monitor his health until he is cleared since he can deteriorate at any time."

"Well what's your name, little one?" Maggie asked

"My moms call me Perseus, but you can call me anytime...Look Grandma is beckoning me over, bye."

Based on their shocked face, I guess weird lines from my past life clearly does not exist in this world despite having the same language.

3rd Person POV

Both Nyra and Maggie were speechless as they stared at Perseus who was walking away with both the look of amazement and shock, they were impressed, but shocked that it came from the mouth of a 5 year old. Their mouths were opening and closing repetitively as they are thinking about what to say next.

"Well, my son got more game than you ever will, wow." Nyra commented

"Wow is right, can I use that line?" Maggie asked

The class started as Lynda led the class slowly step by step of the dance. The dance was the basis of their identity, it was a part of their fighting style, a way to enhance ones mana and a way to honor their ancestors. Perseus does not know that yet as he is yet to care as he is following them as he is frustrated with the pace.

Once the session ended, they got a break as everyone are to eat and take a good rest before starting it again.

"Perseus, it's okay to take it slow, children like you are known for being weaker and slower than average." Rylee assured him

"No, it's because the class is too slow, I'm not used to the slow pace."

"Since when are you a master? Go on, prove your worth."

"No, it's embarrassing."

"Everyone is practicing right now and asking for correction, no one would care, this class is helping us adults too. The only ones who will find it weird is if that person isn't from the village."

Perseus still walked to a corner where no one would pay much attention and did the dance with his own pace. Lynda knew Perseus was frustrated as she focused on him the most since after all, be is her grandson, so she was watching him the whole time even though she can't hear what they were conversing.

And to both Rylee's and Lynda's surprise, he could do it, even though the dance isn't meant to be fast unless they're fighting with it, Perseus did it in a way where he can put some experienced adults to shame, Lynda could see strands of mana moving to his direction, he was smooth with each turn and jump, but it seems his body wasn't flexible enough as he expected as he would have to slow down during the harder steps, but nonetheless...just a couple more years where he becomes flexible...he is already better than a beginner as he is dancing with mana, he might just be the next person in her mind to be one with mana.
