Chapter 295: Insanity

Perseus POV

"Ok, healer Beek, look, I respect you and all, but I don't need you checking up on me."

"Miracle children like you could always experience late symptoms, so I'm making sure," he replied, "Open your mouth."

My parents are too overprotective for their own good, so I had to pass every one of his tests and go through the mandatory health checkup before I was finally let go. I went to the chief and tell him to expect a delivery in a couple weeks or so, and he should also expect a few enchanters and old friends of his from the village of the golden sand to visit and enchant the pieces of equipment I ordered.

And I've thought about it long and hard, but I'm gonna have the 3 children sent back in 3 days, I'll spend today going around the village and go meet Zach, and after that, I'll go charge up the machine.

"Asher, accompany me today, I could use you today."

"Sure." he nodded.

I went to the location Zach told me to meet him at and he was there with his whole crew. I then verified the receipt and signed it off while Zach told me saying that my purchase is so large that I won't be able to hide it from the public while also having my intent being seen as obviously clear.

"...People would think that your village is either preparing to start a war or expecting to defend yourself from one." Zach finished

"He really is tiny, are you sure that he's in his 30s?" Asher asked.

"I've asked many times and sure enough, it's the truth. You've seen Rowan, right? They're the same type."

"Look he's pouting like a child."

"Let's not make fun of his childish looks...besides, your mother pouts too."

"I know, you seriously need to question who you decide to bring in close."

"If you don't mind me asking, who's he?" Zach's younger muscular and macho brother asked.

"Close relative, you'll meet him again soon enough."

"Hard to trust a guy who can sink into the shadows and could be spying on me at any time, you sure that he isn't the black rose's secret love child."

"I am technically her child." Asher confirmed.

"Hah, that's what happens when you have too many women." Zach said with a smug face, "When one doesn't have enough attention, they'll just move one with someone more respectable than a greedy bastard like you."

"Nah, they got their fair share of attention, anyway, back to our other topic, I want a full investigation on the Urgess family, their history with the heroes, all the spies they've sent, every little speck, and I mean everything, I was warned by a god saying that a current member of the family may be up to something terrible."

"Really?" Zach questioned, "May I know who this god is?"

"You don't need to know, just trust me. If they are doing what I think they're trying to do, not even the human race would be let off."

They could be trying to become the rulers of the world by working with Cain who promised to help them accomplish that if they can help Cain get what he wants. And for now, all I know is that he wishes to get the time-traveling gadget that I currently have and the one that is in God's possession.

And if they are, they might even bring over the extinction class and mix those strong abilities with mage blood to create uncontrollable monsters. And there's the stupid homunculus project they have to stop me, I'm gonna have to kidnap one really high-level personnel.

Edward could be a person that fits the description, but I'll feel really guilty cuz he's like a really great friend who's around my mental age, he's a father and a wonderful husband, so I don't wanna rip him away from the places where he's needed, cuz it'll be a really terrible experience for him.

But the king...he's a harder target, though I'm not as close to him...I'll be able to pull off the interrogation without any guilt, well not without any, but just a little less guilt, as long as it was quick and no harm was done to him, I rather not have him die of a heart attack cuz I don't know what to tell Edward since I would be the cause.

We then left Zach's place once we confirmed everything and put in a portion of my payment and went back to gather the rest to give to the chief so he can pay Zach when the delivery comes.

Instead of buying gear, I just bought the materials in large quantities and hire a lot of independent smiths to come to my village, it's faster that way, and after a while, the enchanters will come and enchant the pieces of equipment that will be newly made.

"Son, would you mind helping me kidnap a very important old man?"

"Dad, you know...we're a very large and unusual family." he responded.

"Yeah?"

"And when I said that I love you and I am willing to do everything for you, you do realize that kidnapping someone and inviting your son to do it with you will make you a really terrible role model, right?"

"So that's a no?"

"Nah, it's a yes, like you, we're all weird psychopaths, You know that Orion prefers a well-done steak?"

"I'm now questioning my life decision and my future methods of raising you guys, even if you're old enough to know that things aren't as black and white, you should have said no."

I mean it, I plan on raising them better.

"Don't worry, none of us has ever killed any animals and taken sadistic pleasure over them, I have even had myself tested in secret, and I am officially not mentally ill. Compared to you, we're all angelic souls." he claimed.

"You've had yourself tested?"

"I thought it was funny, though I should have followed up with a specialist to really make sure, it's not like it matters, so who do we kidnap? A noble? A royal member?"

"How about a king?"

"What kind of king?"

"One that rules over a continent."

"Have you had yourself tested?" he asked.
