A Pitiful Sight

"Is this.. how humans react.. when they see a demon?"

The Demon Prince asked with a skeptical look as he scanned Ale from top to bottom. He pride himself in having the most amount of knowledge regarding humans compared to any other demons in his real. Well. The others simply weren't interested.

But still, humans were like aliens to them, a different race, a race with lesser intelligence. Most demons didn't bother to differentiate Humans from the other animals on the planet Earth. They were just busy living life.

This Prince was a different case though. From his early childhood, he showed interest in things that no one else did. Everyone around him found that behaviour of his to be cute at first.

But as he grew older and got more obsessed with these things, it simply became annoying to most people, even his parents. He didn't like studying, but he'd finish a 1400 page book on humans in a single day.

Just like how Ale was considered an anomaly in his world, this Prince was treated the same in his own world. They were both beings that simply didn't suit their environment. Not that anyone could say anything about it though.

Ale looked at the demon in front of him with annoyance as he thought about his previous question. How would a normal human react?

"They'd probably kill and burn your body before you even get the chance to drink your potion and recover."

Ale answered nonchalantly. It was the truth. Unlike demons that paid humans no mind, humans were actually very bothered by their existence. They feared and hated them from their very core, and the repulsive feeling they got whenever they saw a demon also added fuel to the fire.

The Prince imagined Ale's words, getting killed and burned, for a second and it sent a chill down his spine. But at the same time, he could relate to it. That would've suited the situation much better according to his knowledge of the humans.

"So why are you different?"

"Huh?"

"You're helping me. And I didn't really sense any killing intent from you either."

"What? Where? When? When did I help you?"

Ale wondered what that guy was talking about as he replied in annoyance. Well, he could understand the killing intent part, since he really did have no such intentions. But helping him? Again? There was no way.

"But- *cough* *cough* um.. Can I have some water *cough* please?"

The Demon looked like he was feeling out of breath as he kept coughing. There was even a bit of blood dripping down the corner of his lips.

"Uh.. wait a sec."

Ale brought out a bottle of water from his ring, opened the cap and helped the demon drink it as he kneeled down and sat in front of him.

"Here.. Do you want more?"

"...."

"? You ok?"

".....pft.."

"???"

"You're helping me again."

"...."

The Demon Prince couldn't hold back his laughter anymore as he wiped the blood off of his face.

Ale, on the other hand, was left speechless by his own actions and stupidity.

"But.. you're a light user?"

The Demon Prince asked, curious. When Ale helped him drink his water, their hands touched. It was enough to let him know what Ale's attribute was.

Any other attribute would've been hard to detect. But since it was light, and he was a demon, he could feel it instinctively.

"Yeah. Why? You scared?"

Ale asked, acting like a thug. He actually felt grateful that the guy was thoughtful enough to change the subject and not embarrass him even more.

"No... Just intrigued.. That sword from earlier. I thought you were helping me cause you had the dark attribute?"

"Oh.. Yeah no. I'm a light user."

"How peculiar."

"Nothing peculiar here. C'mon, get up. Let me take you inside."

Ale didn't want anyone to even accidentally see that guy. His horns, wings and tail were a dead giveaway to his identity. The six foot tall, devilishly handsome demon was in his original form afterall.

"Thanks."

The Demon got up with Ale's help since he still had a few broken bones and a torn wing and wasn't really in a position to get up and start walking on his own. There was also the matter of lost blood. He was definitely a little dizzy.

"I'm Xion by the way. What's your name?"

"Ale."

"Ale? That's a cute name."

"Shut up and walk."

Since the interior of the mansion was done long ago, it looked like an actual mansion from the inside. There were furnitures, light and everything.

"Whoa.. It's beautiful."

"Isn't it? This is Light's mansion."

Light peeked his head from inside Ale's shirt and looked around the mansion with as much curious as Xion did. They were both mesmerised by the view and the delicate designs.

"This little guy? Wow. You have a beautiful house, little guy."

"Light's mansion... So pretty.."

Ale enjoyed the excited and surprised expressions on both their faces as he headed towards on of the bedrooms. Everything inside the mansion was designed by Ale himself. Even the furniture was handpicked by him. So he felt very proud at that moment.

"Here. Use this room for now."

Ale showed Xion to one of the bedrooms that were already prepared and started heading to another room.

"Where are you going?"

"To my room. I need to change."

"Oh.."

"And so do you. Change into some clean clothes."

Ale had blood all over his shirt by now. And him wearing white was really no help at the moment. He needed to take a bath and clean himself properly.

"But I can't walk on my own."

"...."

"I'm not lying!"

As much as Ale was annoyed by the situation, it did seem like the guy was having a hard time even just standing still. The potion was working alright, but it still needed some time to mend everything.

"Haah.. Here."

Ale helped him enter and sit down on the bed. Of course, he first laid out a few layers of towels on top of the bed so the blood doesn't dirty the bed.

"I'll just take a quick bath here then. You wait patiently and let the potion work in the meantime, okay?"

"Mhm."

Xion nooded his head like an obedient eleven year old as per Ale's instructions. Before entering the bathroom, Ale took Light out of his shirt and placed him on a nearby table.

"Baby, can you keep an eye on him for me?"

"Yes."

"Sure."

He was asking Light to keep an eye on that stupid best friend of him. But weirdly enough, the reply came from both sides. He wondered what the hell was wrong with that guy as he looked at Xion with a frown.

"I was talking to him."

"Oh. I see. My bad!"

'Why the fuck would I call you baby?!'

Ale wanted to ask that question so badly. But he consoled himself thinking it must be because of their culture difference or something.

Ale really didn't want to spend another second in his blood soaked clothes so he decided not to make a fuss and just take a bath first. Ale hated blood. The sight of blood, the scent of blood, the colour, the texture, he simply hated blood.

"Haah.."

Xion flopped down on the bed as he waited patiently for Ale to return. The dragon was doing its job perfectly by not taking it's eyes off of Xion even for a second, but he didn't really mind. In fact, he actually found it very cute.

"I want to fly.."

He looked at his torn and broken wings and wished they'd recover soon. Xion hated walking. He couldn't even remember the last time that he walked properly, he was always just flying here and there.

"I'm hungry.."

He grabbed his stomach as he kept staring at the bathroom door, waiting for Ale to come out. It was truly a pitiful sight.
