'Who the fuck said that there was anything easy in this world? Show me so that I can punch his face.'

Lu Fan sighed exasperatedly as he looked at the IDEs that filled multiple screens in front of him.

He had started implementing his plans and he was burning through money like it was free. Even Li Lin could not keep up with his thought process.

The renovations that were supposed to take 3 months were somehow squeezed into a week as he had different companies bid and work on different floors. It was insane.

He had started with his office and bought the latest computers and servers to allow him to learn programming faster.

He had thought that all he needed to do was learn how to code some HTML but he was disappointed. The more he learned, the less he knew.

When he started, his main problem was creating the website. Then came other problems like beautifying it. CSS was good, but there were no libraries that were dedicated to it in 2009. Those that he managed to find did more harm than good.

Then he had to take care of the backend and all databases and all that stuff. When that was done, he had to start worrying about the security of the site and patch up any loopholes that might appear.

He would patch here, only for another to appear, it was endless. It was a good thing that he did not have to learn all this from experience and had his cheat or he would have already gone insane.

After making sure that everything worked fine, he had to start worrying about how subscriptions were going to work.

Lu Fan might have planned to make reading free, but that did not mean that everything was going to be free.

The starting works were being secured by Li Lin at the moment and those could remain free. But what would happen to new works? Not everyone could wait to complete a story to get paid.

He was going to copy many of the features from reading platforms that he remembered to make his platform the best it could be. And that was a lot of work.

"God, and then there is the issue of AIs and Chatbots argh…"

He was basically done with the bare minimum that he wanted his site to have, but all the knowledge he had received made him feel very dissatisfied with the website. All he could see on it were mistakes and other things that could be done to improve it.

His perfectionism OCD was even more irksome than when he maxed out the [Cooking] tag.

AIs and Chatbots were not going to be a problem till the 2025s but Lu Fan wanted to incorporate them into his platform. It could not be helped.

His brain was full of ideas that even made him curse his greed when he was learning programming.

He started very well and got a [HTML Programming] tag which soon became a white talent, but the languages he learned from there would get absorbed the moment they became white talents.

At this moment, he had a whitish green [Programming] talent on his head.

This development shocked Lu Fan very much. He had learned 16 languages now and they all got absorbed pushing the talent to the next level. He could feel his talent in programming improving with each additional language he learned, but it somehow never managed to go completely green.

This might be also contributing to his frustration.

"Chill, you still have a lot of time to explore."

Yes, the website was practically ready at this point. If he wanted to change anything later on, he could just release an updated version.

Looking at all the IDEs that were working tirelessly in front of him, Lu Fan could not help but reminisce on the happening of this week.

He had effectively turned into a shut-in and would only come out for school and when Chen Lu brought him food.

"I should take it slow for a while. Not like some computers can handle anything more than this."

It would be counterproductive if people started avoiding his platform because their computers overheat and lag when they visit it.

"Maybe I should invest in cloud computing. Well, let's think about it later."

Lu Fan made small adjustments and launched the site. He had bought servers through Li Lin's contacts and he could easily handle traffic of 500,000 concurrent users. That was enough for the start.

And it was not like he needed more than this for the time being. By the time he needed to expand, the business would already have gained enough traction to sustain itself. It was already impressive that he could manage the servers on his own.

Lu Fan switched the screens to monitor his stock accounts. Yes, he had started his own online broker firm. It was more accurate to say that he was a firm on his own. He operated more than 10 accounts and all of them had millions of dollars.

It had honestly turned into a game between him and the big brokers behind the scenes. Let's take the JPY as an example. Just yesterday, he had helped them maintain the lower limit resistance, only to pull out just when the tide almost turned.

When everyone was waiting for the market to recover, he had already used two other accounts to sweep the market clean. It was… illegal. Nobody should make money like that.

"Seems like they have tagged my accounts. I should lay low for a while."

The market dealt with tens of trillions of dollars per day. There was no way they would cause trouble for him over a couple of millions, but it was better not to be notorious. If he got complacent, they might just come knocking on his door.

Those accounts were linked to his papers. It was still too early for anonymous accounts to just appear everywhere.

*Knock**Knock*

"Boss, I brought in some new talent. Come see what they can do."

'Is this the 9th time this week, where does she get all these people?'
