Depending on the amount of energy, it's petals would change color.
Because of this, it needed to be grown in very special environment where it would only absorb specific energy for very particular areas.
That way, it's individual petals would only be either black or white and not a mixture of the both of them.
It was also the reason why it had to be placed in a special kind of box that isolated the energy in each petal, to avoided it from mixing up together.
