Chapter 2

Grid appeared in the beginner area near the fortified city of Patrian. It was the place where his dark past was hidden, the past of Grid before he regressed. Though he had corrected the mistakes in the trial of Behen Archipelago, now he just wanted to remove the whole scenario from his current life.

The current Grid was different from before; he wasn't lacking control anymore. Rather, after regression, he had the control of Overgeared God Grid—which was beyond godly and also deeply connected to the Martial God Chiyou and Great Swordsman Pagma. The movements, the footwork, the execution of skills, and the thought process of Grid before regression were in unified form with the current Grid, his physique, and his mind. 

After some contemplation, Grid opened his status window—

'Yeah, exactly same as in my memory.'—Thought Grid as he saw his status window. After that, he checked his 'Inventory' and found only one item inside—the 'Wooden Sword,' one of the weapon-type equipment for beginners that Grid had chosen.

There were only 3 weapon choices available for beginners in Satisfy. They were all made of wood, namely Wooden Sword, Wooden Spear and Wooden Staff.

Similar to most games, the beginner weapons provided in Satisfy were also not of any decent quality. They were only there for the training at the beginning of the game until a user gets a weapon as an 'item drop', can afford to buy something better from the market, or until their 'Durability' runs out.

All three weapons had similar 'Physical Attack Power' and 'Durability' but were very distinct in their handling. Also, Satisfy didn't have any beginner weapons for users who wanted to specialize in magic because the process of making magic items was complex and they were expensive. Users had to choose the beginner weapons from these three based on their preferences, compatibility, or experience if they had any to begin with. 

The most lethal of these three was the Wooden Spear since it had higher penetration power than the other two. Wooden Staff was used as a blunt weapon, and output depended on the playstyle of the user. Both of these weapons had a longer range than the sword, hence they were safer to play with. Whereas the sword was only chosen if the user preferred it or was proficient with it. Since Grid was more proficient with a sword than a staff or spear, he had to choose the sword above all else.

Meanwhile, bow & arrows weren't included as beginner weapons because all beginner weapons were low quality in Satisfy, and the user had to get decent weapons through other methods such as quests, drop items, and buying them. If bows and arrows had been of low quality, then users would die against beginner monsters repeatedly and not be able to enjoy the game. 

After some contemplation, Grid equipped the sword and started to train himself.

Since he had returned to beginner's stats and physique from a god-level player, he needed to adjust to his current weak state. He had set the capsule's synchronization to maximum level so that he could adjust faster. He needed to understand his movement and attack speeds before he started hunting beginner monsters. He also had to maintain and understand hand-to-eye, hand-to-hand, and limb coordination as well. Without training his limited senses, he can't adjust to his current state. 

He did some stretching, running, and push-ups before training with the sword for 10 minutes. Then he practiced vertical slash repeatedly. He practiced vertical slash with a steady posture and a mind full of concentration. He analyzed his technique after some repetitions and changed some minor muscle movements. He followed the same process with horizontal slash as well. All this process took around 30 minutes. Afterward, he sat in the lotus position and started meditation to prepare for the journey ahead. 

Meanwhile, the novice users who were looking at him doing all these actions thought of him as a crazy person.

"Huh? What's that person doing? Is he crazy?"

"Does he think he is some kind of martial artist? Or does he think exercising and training like this will help him level up or something?"

Full of composure, he calmed his whole being down to get rid of unnecessary thoughts and empty his mind to reach a deep meditative state. Yes, with his current state of mind, Grid could easily focus high enough to reach a meditative state anytime he wanted. He remained in the 'state of deep meditation' for at least half an hour. And as he did, the system of Satisfy also rewarded him for this achievement generously—rather more generously than he had ever expected...

Morpheus was a supercomputer product of quantum mechanics, an AI created by the S.A. Group, or mainly the chairman of the group, Lim Cheolho. It currently works as the overseer of Satisfy and is responsible for calculating the time for certain events to occur in Satisfy, such as the acquisition of the Legendary Classes, and the overall maintenance of the game.

"What? Which character appeared to interfere just as the game went live?"—asked Yoon Nahee, the head of the operations team.

Since it was the first day of Satisfy's launch globally, the operations team and as well as the development team were all present in the office, including the chairman of the S.A. Group—Lim Cheolho. The game went live during the night, around 9:00 PM, so it wasn't that late anyway. Even then, the whole group wanted to observe how the first day would go, or rather night to be exact.

[He isn't an NPC; he is a user named 'Grid,' his real-life name is 'Shin Youngwoo.']—Morpheus replied and then proceeded to show what had happened in the game. 

It was 9:30 PM currently, so it has only been around 30 minutes since the game went live irl. Since the time difference between Satisfy and Reality was 3:1, only an hour and a half had passed in the game. Yes, time moved 3 times faster in Satisfy compared to reality. Although they were expecting to see whether any outstanding user would emerge from the very beginning of the game, only an hour and a half had passed in Satisfy's time, yet they were seeing something very unrealistic. 

Morpheus showed them all the actions Grid had done after logging into the game.
