Kaden tossed all the other issues aside for the moment and decided to first test whether the inscription worked or not. He quickly exited the underbelly and this time he walked out the other way.
Just as luck would have it, the instant he stepped outside of the sewer tunnels, he was already face-to-face with a patrolling guard.
Kaden felt a bead of sweat forming on his forehead. It was time for the truth. He mustered an awkward smile, hoping to appear innocent as the guard gave him an intense stare.
The guard's stern voice broke the tension. "Don't linger around the sewer tunnels, lad. They're no place for law-abiding citizens." With that, the guard unexpectedly issued a warning and walked away.
Kaden blinked in disbelief. His awkward smile transformed into an ear-to-ear grin. "Finally! Yes! I'm in the city!" he exclaimed under his breath.
