After paying the bill, Yun Meiyi and Liu Si Si were ready to leave the restaurant. Xu Wei walked them out but an expression of reluctance was visible on his face. His stares were often stopping at Yun Meiyi but not even for once did the woman turn to look his way. The message was simple to him.

No matter how much interested he was in her, she felt nothing for him. Liu Si Si was not unaware of his change in heart, nor was she surprised by it. She knew this was going to happen.

Sighing under her breath, she could only put an end to the disappointment the man was feeling in his heart. Turning slightly, she paused in her steps to look at Xu Wei and say with a smile, "I think both beautiful things and dreams come to an end soon, just like today's evening. Xu Wei thanks for inviting us here today, otherwise we would really have to work hard to get a booking here."

Xu Wei smiled but then turned to look at Yun Meiyi. "It's okay, Si Si. I owe you a meal anyway. Although I didn't get the opportunity to pay today, how about we plan dinner together again? Bring Ms. Yun as well. That way, I will also be able to pay her back favor."

He said, expecting Yun Meiyi to accept the offer. Liu Si Si didn't say anything either. She simply turned to look at her friend waiting to hear her reply.

She said and her tone lacked humility but at the same time held politeness enough to not sound disrespectful. It was like she was telling that even after sharing the same dinner table, they had no strings attached.

Xu Wei felt a pinch in his heart but he still smiled to say, "I would be looking forward to our next meeting Ms. Yun."

Yun Meiyi didn't reject it. Instead, giving a small formal smile, she nodded, "Yes, if life would be long enough to make the world small, then definitely." Then turning to look at Liu Si Si, she added, "Si Si, you take your time. I will go and wait for you in the car."

Liu Si Si looked at her, smiled, and nodded. Yun Meiyi turned and left soon, while the girl turned to look back at Xu Wei, raising her brows twice in askance. "So, what would you say now?"

"What is there to say?" Xu Wei was awkward. Clearly, he understood what the woman was asking her, but he was purposefully trying to ignore her intended meaning.

"What? You are not going to ask me again?" Liu Si Si couldn't help but wanted to laugh at his situation. He had come here to pursue her but ended up falling harder for Yun Meiyi. And in the end, neither had Meiyi nor her.

What a tragic story? She would definitely recite it to her children one day.

Xu Wei was flustered. "Si Si, I have had strong affections for you for years, but I think I miscalculated my own feelings. I don't know what I felt today, but I think I should take a break to read my own heart properly. I am sorry for all the inconvenience I might have caused you."

After all, trying won't leave me any regrets." He said and Liu S Si turned to arch her brows at him.

But then smiling, she shrugged her shoulders to say, "As I have said, my words were just friendly suggestions to you, not any compulsion. It's up to you whether you want to agree to it or have your own way." She said and then smiling, she left, waving her hands at him.

Xu Wei's confidence dimmed but he didn't lose it all. He still held the determination in his heart to try it all the way and his such seriousness was clearly getting reflected in his eyes.
