Room 3

Skye

Skye's voice echoed through the hall. Loud thuds were coming from where they came from and it was getting closer and closer. They weren't too occupied to not notice it which was a good thing.

"That doesn't sound right." Skye said. The thuds were getting closer by the second and they are all starting to panic. Skye needed to think of something they can do to escape. "Everyone," Skye caught everyone's attention, "the only way we an get through this is if we work as a team so let's all look for something, anything. A button, o-or a pressure plate, anything!" and so everyone did. The pressure of being in a situation in which he cannot escape made Skye jump to the first thought that came into his mind. Though he cannot really remember it, but he recalled that he's seen a situation like this before. He knew that there has to be some kind of button or contraption that will trigger something like a trapdoor or an escape route. The group searched the hall for something. Daryl held up his lighter to illuminate them while looking at the other side of the room if their impending doom comes closer. Skye searched the floor for a pressure plate yet he found none. But, he felt something on the right walll near the door. It was a line in which to Skye felt like an opening. His fingers fit the line in the wall just perfectly.

"We couldn't find anything" Stella said. They were shaken when they all realize that the ground was now shaking, and the thuds weren't sounding any better. They were getting closer and closer by the second.

"Guys, I think we're about to die!" Daryl shouted.

"I found something!" Skye shouted at the group.

"What is it?"

"I don't really know, but I think it's an opening to something."

"Whatever it is, it better be helpful 'cause the floors are rising up to the ceiling." Stacy said. Daryl handed his lighter to Stacy and all four of them rushed towards the said opening. They all pulled together with all their might and felt it move.

"It's an opening!" Alex said.

"Guys hurry up it's getting closer!" Stacy shouted at the boys. They pulled and pulled with the other to girls helping them. It was opening, but it was not enough to fit them all in time. A few moments later, Skye noticed that the thuds had gone quiet, and all he heard were their struggles pulling the opening. Stacy walked toward where they came from and saw a thick layer of what used to be the floor. When they thought that it already stopped, it began again. This time, it was at a slower pace but in a quick lift motion. Yet it wasn't helpful at all. The floor was still rising a few feet from them and they barely even opened the opening yet.

"Pull!" he shouted, "Keep Pulling!"

They kept on pulling, but the floor still rose and it was getting closer. They kept pulling and pulling with all their hearts when finally, the doors slid smoothly and threw them off. They were now only one floors away from getting squashed. Skye stood and ran towards the opening. He went in and it was a good thing that he noticed that it had no floor. It was just a bottomless pit drop. It was pitch black and there was sign of light at the bottom. the rest of the group ran toward him and saw the same thing. They were now only one floor away from getting crushed.

"What are we gonna do?" Stella asked, though the answer was obvious.

"We jump." Alex suggested. They felt the floor start to rise and almost lost their balance. They all managed to jump one by one into the drop when he heard the cracking sound up above. There was no light while they were falling. After about a minute the finally reached the bottom of the seemingly bottomless drop. They all fell in water. Skye estimated that it was around 15 feet deep.

Swim, now it makes sense, Skye thought underwater. He was hearing the others struggling to swim to the surface through the water. He swam up and took a deep breath of air. Strangely, the air smelled different.

"Everyone!" Skye shouted, "Alex! Stella! Daryl!"

"Skye!" Alex's voice sounded distant and it echoed across the room. It was dark without the lighter so they were all struggling to find where they are until a circle of lights were illuminated in the midst of them. Skye swiftly swam toward the light. Then it came again to Skye that the water seemed funny. When he arrived at the lights, he felt a platform or something to stand on. He surfaced himself there and called out the others. Daryl was the second one to come, then Stella, then Alex, then Jack and Stacy.

"Where's Wendy?" Alex asked. From a short distance Skye saw Wendy struggling for her life. She might not know how to swim he thought. Without thinking, Skye jumped back into the water to save her. He had to be quick or else she'll drown. Skye took her by the neck and swam back to the platform, but she was unconscious.

"Does anyone know CPR?" Skye asked. Stella rushed to Wendy and gave her CPR. The first time she did the procedure didn't do anything. It worried everyone. The second time didn't either, but the third finally brought her back. Wendy spew water from her mouth and coughed repeatedly. The group was relieved to know that she was gonna be okay. Though he thinks everything is fine now, Skye still feels so uneasy. The water, there was just something not right about it, he thought. As sudden as their arrival, blinding white lights illuminated them. They found themselves in the middle of a very wide room and a great body of water. The platform they were on was still surfaced to the water. Skye looked around for something and found an exit, but it was too far away to swim. And Wendy can't swim.

"I see the exit." Skye pointed.

"It's too far, and Wendy can't swim." Jack said.

"But we need to get there, to get out of here."

"But how?"

"Where are we anyway? And why does the water smell funny?" Alex asked. Skye could ask t ithe same. Why did the water smell funny. Daryl cupped the water and sniffed it like a hound.

"Oil." Daryl said.

"Oil?" Skye was puzzled

"Yes! It is Oil!" the woman's voice announce. The fear and dread the felt at the beginning all came back to them.
