Her phone chimed. I could not read the message because she was quick to pick it up but I knew it was from Frank.
'Honey, I have to go in now, see you in the morning.' She got up and covered herself properly with her robe and went to her room.
I was left alone in the kitchen with the lingering smell of my mother that gave me a very deep warm feeling inside and an uncomfortable one in my throat.
Thursday seemed to be a drag for me. I made myself coffee after mum left.
It was a battle for me to concentrate on anything. I decided to put off the writing till I could think more clearly.
Since there was nothing else to do, I called Emily.
It was a few minutes to two a.m but she took the call. I expected her to sound sleepy, but it was like she had been expecting my call.
'Emily.' My voice cracked.
'Kass honey, is anything the matter?' She responded.
I was so deep in my feelings, I even considered telling her about how I truly felt. Empty and unfulfilled.
