Journey to get a pair of eyes

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[A/N: This honestly took way too long, but procrastination is something that I have to work on. Oh, and have fun reading 9.9k words, longest chapter made so far.]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kayneth

[Game Physics] (Passive) {FromSoftware}

Dodging gives you a temporary window where you are invincible.

Any weapon can be parried for an extra hard hit.

'Huh, oh that's the new skill! Seems pretty good, the only problem is the timing, but we'll get there eventually' He thought as the pop-up disappeared.

Walking along the path, he encountered his first enemy at the end of it. A dark cloaked man holding a broken sword. Going up to the 'man' and giving him a good poke with his halberd. This however didn't kill him, and only made him get angry at Kayneth.

As it released a howl, several others started to rise up from their 'slumber'. Looking around them, they all noticed a slender man hold a weapon, as one of their 'brothers' was screeching at him.

Running to his aide, they started to gang up on Kayneth. Slashing at him, from different sides. He got too cocky and let them all stab him at the same time. He looked at all of them, through their cloaks and shouted. "How the fuck did I just die to a beginner mob!?"

[You Died]

[Due to the world, you will be respawned.]

It was at this point that Kayneth learned, to git fucking gud or die trying. He was going to grind the ever-living shit out of his skill. He wasn't going to leave this world… not unless he mastered his polearm skill.

With determination, he went back to where he died and slashed the hollow with the blade on his halberd.

[You have Gained 67.5 G and 20 Souls]

'… I see. Souls and the money itself are treated as separate objects. Hey Game! When will I get the gacha that everyone has?'

[You just have to buy it.]

[The price of the gacha is (current level X 1000)]

'You dick, how am I going to waste that much when I can just buy a level? Also is there any reward for completing the tutorial?'

[For the first question, idk you do the math.]

[As for the second one, yes, yes you do actually.]

[Can we get a tutorial?]

Objective.- Finish the tutorial

Reward – 150 G , 1 Skill, 1 Gacha Spin

Failure - Can you really?

'Yes! At least I won't die to some shitty mobs this time, thanks game' He thought in a sarcastic tone.

[Ya, ya. Now, just get it over with so you can do some plot stuff.]

'Ok, just give me a sec to see what these are.'

An infinite amount of chicken nuggets will always stay crispy no matter the occasion, also comes with any type of sauce.

Lightbulbs started to blare in his head, as he thought of a way to profit from this. 'Depending on their quality, they could either sell for 1$ for 4 pieces or if they're just that good I could sell them for 5$ for every 4 pieces.'

Taking everything out of his inventory, he noticed another item inside, a ring. Using 'Observe' on the ring it revealed its name.

[Darkmoon Ring]

Allows you to integrate 2 dark magic skills into the system.

'Neat, now we can get an upgraded dark blade.' Kayneth thought making a spell which not only gave it more damage but also extended the reach on the weapon

'*Sigh* That definitely took a lot out of me. But it should last me enough time to kill anything that tries to hit me first.' He thought looking at his upgraded weapon. Turning his head to the left, he continued on the path. Coming across the [Ashen Estus Flask], which won't really be used that often as his regen is better than drinking it.

As Kayneth took the blue Gatorade, the body of the hollow nearby the drink, awoke. A loud screen sounded out from it, taking up the rest of the hollow. All of them holding their broken swords, except for a hollow holding a crossbow with flaming bolts, they all rushed him.

This time, however, Kayneth slashed 2 of them from afar. This left 2 more hollows that were rushing him, he was then shot in the chest.

[20 Damage Received]

'Shit forgot about him.' He thought dodging the sword coming his way. Rolling over to the side, the two hollows slashing at him cut each other. While they were trying to get their weapons out, Kayneth focused on the archer hollow instead. So, he rolled through each shot it fired his way, going up to him and giving the hollow a backstab. 'Now, just have to deal with the two idiots' He thought while stabbing through both of them.

[You have Gained 337.5 G and 100 Souls]

"*Sigh* Hmmm, should I try to kill the crystal lizard thing? Well, we can after we get bonfire up ahead… Sounds like a plan." He planned aloud continuing down the path, to the left of the hill, and to the bonfire. Lighting it up, he was now able to respawn there whenever he died. This was one out of many bad decisions.

Kayneth

ha..ha..ha Why the hell did I decide this. Oh wait, there was the crystal scale… I need it for the souls it drops. And with the way I planned it… I will definitely need it. I took another breath before dodging to the side once more. Looking at the beast that had killed me at least 10 times by now. I waited for it more in closer, waiting for that window of opportunity to strike.

It stood there, staring into my eyes also waiting for me to make a move. But it grew impatient and rolled its way towards me. I moved to the left as it stops and slams its massive body into me.

[45 Damage Received]

Shit, it can learn! Well… Unlike a game AI, this is actually real life, so it would make sense to do so, and it caught me off-guard. I back off and quickly chug an estus flask and look back at the lizard. It once again rushed at me, but this time using its teeth, trying to bite off a part of my body. Rolling backward thrice, it had to take a second to recharge its stamina. This was the perfect moment to strike. Gripping my weapon tightly, I raise it above my head and jam the point into its throat.

Blood flew everywhere, its body choked on its own blood. It fell to its backside as it let out one final screech into the air and finally died.

[You have Gained 9000G and 4000 Souls]

[You have Gained an Item]

I raised an arm in the air and shouted. "Let's go! I did it! HAHAHA Fuck you lizard! Now, time to fight the boss." I shivered at the last part, remembering my original playthrough of the game.

Going back to the bonfire, I took the time to level up a bit.

[You have Gained a Level] X 6

I felt the power flow into me and honestly, it felt great. The same sense of enjoyment from seeing yourself gain muscle after going to the gym. In short powerful. A very familiar feeling honestly, the feeling that you could take on the world. But we shouldn't get too cocky, this is dark souls we're talking about. And this is a very unforgiving world.

I marched on getting both the [Titanite Shard] and [Firebomb] along the way while killing all the hollows in the path. Moving over to the boss room, it was time.

Going to the center of the enclosed area. I took out the sword in the giant's chest and waited for the inevitable. The iron giant rose from its place and stared at me, stylishly flipping its spear.

[Boss: Iudex Gundyr]

I used 'Observe' just to check his level, and the results made me feel small.

LVL- 50

I mean, if my level were in the thousands, I wouldn't mind a 50-level difference. But, at such a low level as I am right now, it changes things. It raised its large halberd over its head going for an overhead slam, I roll to the left as it goes for a slash. Surprisingly the attack hits, the slash cutting open my body as I fall to the ground staring at it. I didn't have enough HP to tank this, nor was the attack 'non-lethal'… all attacks in dark souls are lethal… Fuck it rat form it is.

[You Died]

Running back over to the boss room, and grabbing my lost souls, I changed into my rat form. The halberd I was holding, shrank with me. Getting small enough for me to hold it properly without losing my balance. Casting the buff on my weapon and using haki, I was now ready to strike. But Gundyr wasn't just going to stand there, so as I finished buffing, he jumped high into the air. Crashing his weapon into the ground with a loud bang. Luckily though, I was able to dodge it last second, using the invincibility frames to my advantage.

I took my chance and did an 'Overhead Slam', while also folding space so that it hit his head.

*BANG*

His armor held up, though there was a dent where his head was, he shrugged it off and went to attack me. My hands were shaking from the vibrations of the result of the attack. Though I noticed his attack coming for me, I rolled backward. This wasn't enough, as he took a large step forward and stabbed my small body in the chest.

[70 Damage Received]

I was dangerously close to death. I chugged the estus flask because my life depended on it. Looking at his HP, I notice that he was nearly at 50%. I have to deal as much damage right now before it reaches his second phase.

So, as the boss did another plunge attack, I struck. This time, however, I folded the space near his back, performing a backstab. I jammed the halberd within his massive body and pulled it out.

But it wasn't over just yet, Gundyr's body started to convulse. Black sludge-like things began erupting from his body. Coming together into a root-like hand, while on his other arm was a snake-like, demon-looking head appeared, both were made out of the same sludge as the one that just came out of him.

This towering beast in front of me, was here to kill me. Instead of taking it 'like a man' I'd rather survive. So, I folded the space to get away from him and used the rest of my mana to stab him also using folded space.

This was the small amount of HP that I needed to get rid of so I could kill him. For a boss that dominated me during my first runs… it felt great.

[You have Gained 6750G and 3000 Souls]

[You have Gained an Item]

A small bonfire then appeared, where Gundyr once laid before I came here. Walking up to it, I lit it up, regaining all of my life-saving estus flasks back.

Now I DEFINITELY needed these little things. Something to regen my HP in such a short amount of time was very useful. Looking at my HP, something happened to it. It increased! Thinking over what happened, I have deduced it was by killing Gundyr, that I gained that free ember from killing a boss.

Now moving on to some question that has been bugging my mind 'Hey Game, is it possible to revive someone using the system?' I asked as a blue window appeared in front of me.

[Yes, though it will be expensive, you can do anything for the right price.]

'So theoretically… rewind time?'

[As I said, anything is possible with enough G.]

[You just have to get enough.]

'Neat' I thought standing up going continuing the march to Firelink Shrine.

Going through the hollow in front of the shrine, I was now able to enter it.

Looking down, I was able to see the fire keeper standing next to what looked like a bowl, filled with undead ashes. Knowing how this worked, I dropped to the ground, a small thud accompanying it. Pulling the [Coiled Sword] out of my inventory, I plunge it down into the bowl.

Fire starts to rise out from it, doing a sort of spectacle before going back into the flame and creating the bonfire.

The Fire Keeper, who saw all of this, was surprised that her 'ashen one' was a rat. Or what looked to be one, as in this world, rats are cat-sized, infestation-spreading, little shits.

She looked at me through her mask and spoke. "Welcome to the bonfire, Unkindled one. I am the Fire Keeper. I tend to the flame, and I tend to thee. The Lord have left their thrones, and must be deliver'd to them. To this end, I am at thy side." Almost robotically, recited hundreds of times waiting for her guess to arrive. Though there was a bit of doubt, she didn't know if I could understand her, so she asked. "This may be a bit rude but, do you understand me, Ashen One?"

I quickly notice this, and transformed back into my human form, explaining that I was stronger that way. "I apologize for my actions, I knew it was rude of me to come in here in that form, but that form is where I am strongest. Where I can defeat the opponents that stand in my way."

[+50 Affection with Fire Keeper for, being the 'Ashen One']

[+100 Obedience with Fire Keeper for, being the 'Ashen One']

[Perk Gained (Fire Keeper:50)]

[Blind Faith]

Affection, Reputation, Obedience Gain is faster with Blind People

She nodded at my explanation and explained her purpose to me in the same robotic fashion. "Ashen One, to be unkindled is to be a vessel for souls. Sovereignless souls will become thy strength. I will show thee how." There was a slight pause before she continued.

"Ashen One, bring me souls, plucked from their vessels..." I accepted and immediately asked if I could use the souls to strengthen me. "Very well. Then touch the darkness within me. Take nourishment from these sovereignless souls." She recited the famous lines. I took got on my knee and touched her hand, holding onto the cloth wrapped around it gently.

My mind was immediately transported to a dark void. Looking to my left, I saw a ring made of fire circling around the darkness. While on the other side, I saw, what looked to be a spirit, with two eyes staring at me as the leveling menu popped in front of me.

'Hey Game-' I was cut off from my thoughts as a loud text-to-speech bot voice thing, shouted at me.

[What the Hell do YOU want this time!?]

'Well, how many points am I going to get from the DS system?' I asked as the box flickered me an answer

[*Sigh* It gives you 3 points per level.]

[The reason why it's so low compared to your system.]

[Is because, you're supposed to git gud, also the duo thought it would be funny.]

'Wait, what duo? Is it the 'Void and Chaos' people I keep on hearing about? HEY answer me!' I bargained never to be given an actual answer. *sigh* top secret shit probably.

Let's go back to the matter at hand, what should I add… I guess Vigor, Endurace, and Vitality are the same stat, which would make sense. Then, Faith is WIS. While Intelligence… is well INT. But where does MAG fit in… AH! the stats get shared between the two. I get it now.

Looking back at the screen, I go over my options and come to a conclusion.

[Point Allocation: 7 points into Vigor, 2 points into Faith, and 1 point into Intelligence.]

And with that, I was then thrust back into reality. I looked up, only to see the Fire Keeper looking at me, with an expressionless face. "Farewell, Ashen One. May the flames guide thee." She said with a short bow.

Walking behind the Fire keeper were the old Shrine maiden and Andre. Buying the stone from the Maiden I went on to the next phase of the plan.

Moving on, I went to the second floor and performed the famous jump. The legendary jump of dark souls, famous for getting to pickle-pee and the free estus flask, and the ring that gives you bonus souls.

So I did the jump, it is easier because I could just grab onto the edge and lift myself to the place. Walking to the dome, I grabbed the shard and got a [Large Titanite Shard] from pickle-pee.

Slashing at the wall, revealed it was an illusion. Going into the side and opening the chest unveiled the [Covetous Silver Serpent Ring]. Now, going back around to the platform again. I walked a bit further and killed the little lizard that was there and got the [Twinkling Shard]. While on the way back I also grabbed the [Uchigatana] from the swordmaster, who I killed. And the rest of the item I grabbed on the way back, making sure to clean out everything there.

Back at the main shrine itself, I went onto Andre, who seemed familiar with me. Talking about how I used to go to him to teach him about how to become a better blacksmith, and how surprised he was that I was here.

Honestly, thinking back to what Andre said… made me realize that Andre might not be from here. Looking at how the flame used to be more powerful before compared to the desperate flame that is here today… Ya, I'd definitely take it for myself. Stealing that shit would likely be top priority, and the second would be the waifus… fake gwynevere and her massive boobs! HAHAHA, me and my silly plans.

Moving on to more plot things, I made my way to the High Wall of Lothric. Grabbing the titanite shard from the 'pus of man' along the way. Walking along the beaten path, I saw a massive Wyvern corpse. It was definitely more impressive in real life! It was then I got an idea. I could use the dragon if I got some of it scale, then use said scale to make armor.

But first, I had to kill the hollows that surrounded it. Instead of doing the logical thing, I let the one with the lantern screech. This alerted the rest of the hollows of my location they started swarming me. Using the extended range on my weapon, I waited for them to get into ranged and sliced them all in one sweep. The one with the lantern was next on the chopping block, as it started to rush me after the fodder got killed. It didn't stop me though, as I once again sweep through its body.

I was then hit with a firebomb to the chest.

[40 Damage Received]

I looked above me, to notice the two hollows throwing it at me. I ran up the stairs but was immediately forced to block an incoming attack, from one of the hollows at the top. It was then another sword tried to force its way towards me. I dashed back and earned a double kill by impaling both on the tip.

[You have Received 630G and 280 souls]

Neat, I should, supposedly, be able to use the bow that we got earlier and shoot down the living wyvern later up. I grabbed the [Gold Pine Resin] for further buffing my weapon.

Going down, and going back up some stairs. The wyvern flew onto the top a 'tower', for a lack of a better term, and scorched the hollows bellow this. Now, the only reason why I wasn't burnt, was that I dodged off the stairs… and jump attacked the archer hollow below.

I continued running through the path because I'm not about to get burnt and turned into bbq. Going up yet another set of stairs, he was met with a Lorthic Knight. This Knight had a shield. So, being the big unga bunga player that I am. I opened up with an attack that swept the shield out of his hands. This attack left him vulnerable to a riposte, and with a wide grin, I shoved the entire length of my halberd into his body and pulled it out. This would result in my first armor set. Or at least until I get the dark set.

Putting on the chest and leg pieces of the armor, I now had some form of protection… or so the game says.

[Damage Reduction:5%]

I was then given another popup if I wanted to make said armor invisible. See as I have nothing under these, I declined. Though, this could be useful in the future.

Moving from that, I lit the bonfire on the second floor and also grabbed the titanite shards while I was at it. Going downstairs, I was met with the same knight. But it wasn't just the knight, there was also an assassin hollow. The assassin began launching knives at me, while the Knight attacked me with a large swing of its sword.

'This is going to be hard. Can't defend for too long, the knives will lower my stamina enough for the knight to stab his sword into me… Wait! I have that shield in my inventory. If I just waited it out, I can parry him and move onto the next guy.' I thought equipping my shield to the left hand. This was going to be the best practice against both the Dancer and Pontiff Sulyvahn.

As the attack was about to hit, I parried him. The parry knocked him out of balance, leaving him vulnerable to a critical hit. The assassin was having none of it and spammed the knives even harder. Too bad that riposting gave me temporary invincibility for the duration of the action. As for the assassin, one running attack and he was out.

[You have Received 562G and 250 souls]

Walking into the floor below, there were two assassins, that I quickly dispatched. And tucked away in the corner, was a locked door. Now, I had this idea for quite a while, can I mold darkness. Well, let's test it out. Letting mana flow out of me (which is a hard thing, as a beginner, to do) starts taking on a dark consistency, instead of a blue one. Now, moving it to the keyhole, I slowly fit the mana into the pins. Slowly but surely, I get all the correct pins and twist the makeshift key. It works! Now I just have to pull it out and beat the dark wraith to get his cool armor.

[Skill Gained]

[Darkness Manipulation] (Active)

The ability to manipulate darkness into whatever the user wishes (within the amount of mana the user currently has).

As I get the notification, the ring on my finger crumbles into dust. Leaving me with one more ring slot to use, and a lot of time saved. Yay! Walking into the room, there was an elevator at the center of it. I walked over to the contraption, it activated when I stepped on a small pressure plate at the center of the elevator. Said elevator began descending into the floors below. After about 10 seconds of going down, I finally arrived at the lower floor.

Slowly approaching the room ahead, I was faced with a large room. Filled with the armor of various knights, and standing at the center of it all, a dark figure. Staring at the ground, seemingly contemplating what it has done. The cloaked figure noticed me though, holding up its sword in a stance. We both waited for one of us to make the first move, to punish the other. Having enough of it though, the Wraith went for a large swing.

At the same time, I parried it using the shield. However, I missed the parry. The slash went through my entire chest, blood gushed out like a fountain.

[150 Damage Received]

The Wraith didn't care for this, as it went for an upward slash this time. I had to roll back quickly and drink an estus flask. This was followed by another heavy slash from the wraith, however. The slash going through my body once again.

[160 Damage Received]

'Shit! If I can't go back and heal again. If I do so, it'll just do the same thing again. I have to bait it out so I can parry it…' I formulated a plan while trying my best to evade the wraith trying to slash at me.

Staring at it one more time, I waited for it once again strike me. But this time, I was able to hit the parry and shove the length of my weapon in its body. The wraith's body slumped back, but it wasn't enough. It slowly raised back up, in an almost zombie-like fashion. Sword in hand, the veiled creature continued its onslaught of attacks. Rolling back six times, I was able to create enough distance where it wouldn't be able to smack me in two attacks. Using this small window of time, I folded the space around him making the same wormhole that I always use in a pinch.

Strike at certain points in front of me, I sent each strike to spots in its body. It tried to grab my weapon during points where I got cocky, but I was able to slice off its hand during those times. And with one final stab, it fell, leaving behind its armor and sword.

[You have Received 5625G and 2500 souls]

[You have Gained an Item]

Picking up the leggings and the gauntlets, this was going to be my armor for now until I got the Wolf Knight Set. But right now, looking at the set I was wearing… It was pretty good. An okay amount of defense and mobility.

[Damage Reduction:9%]

Granted the dark set is quite light… Fine! I picked this set because it looks cool. Happy now? *Sigh* Let's just get this over with so we can get 5 free levels.

Making my way through all the enemies along the way, I was able to get to the main section to the front of the castle. I quickly activated the shortcut, so that if, and I will, have to repeat, it won't be the long way there. Going up the stairs, I was met with resistance. Two hollow knights stood in my way. One with a spear, and the other with a sword.

Doing the not-so-smart thing, I went for the spear guy first. It didn't end well. I got stabbed, smacked, and slashed. Combo-ed two ways. And when I tried to run to the left. I was met with the blue knight. Safe to say, I now got killed in a three-way.

[You Died]

'*Sigh* Next time just be patient.' And I did just as I thought. Luring each knight into 1 on 1 fights instead of trying to bait all of them.

Now that I could walk without being harassed, I enter the base of the building. Inside said base, was an old lady sitting on a chair. Going up to her, I initiated a conversation. "Hell-" I was then rudely interrupted.

"Ahh, the wait has been long, Unkindled One. I am Emma, High Priestess of Lothric Castle. Allow me to speak frankly. You will not find the Lords of Cinder here. They have left, gone. To their churning homes, converging at the base of this castle. Head to the bottom of the High Wall. Forge on through the great gate, and raise this banner to proceed. This farewell gift is for you. It is the insignia of an old covenant. If you fear trespassers, dark spirits drawn by the embers. Then etch this upon your heart. And the old concord will beckon noble Blue Sentinels to hunt these foul spirits." The old lady said giving me both a banner and the Blue Sentinels Covenant… Which won't be just at all. I asked 'Game' about why that was and this was its answer.

[Are you sure you want multiplayer?]

[That opens up other reincarnators to your world.]

[Or worse, link you to the game itself.]

[Are you sure you want to link the world?]

Scary thought, but it is still possible. But either way, I went down the stair and into the boss arena, saving the swordmaster summon for later. Approaching the gate at the end, I was once again interrupted by something. This time it was a boss! A portal on the other end revealed itself, and out the other end came Vordt of the Boreal Valley. Now if I remember correctly, if I just dodge his rushes, I'll have no problem as his body is too big to hit me.

Now just time to use 'Observe' on him and.

*Playing Dark Souls III Soundtrack OST Vordt of the Boreal Valley*

Neat, so that's what the full status sheet looks like. Wait, rank? Maybe it's just the difficulty of the enemy. But looking at his stats… spending all of my money on level-ups. But trying to level up, I was only able to do it twice. But every little bit helps, I guess. Then again, with his luck, I should be able fuck him up at least once.

And so it began, Vordt opened up with a quick dash. I dodge to left. This however was a mistake. As Vordt slammed his mace into me.

[190 Damage Received]

'Shit seems like going this is going to be harder than Gundyr. Ok, now all we have to do is go up behind him and smack his ass until he dies.' I used the standard strategy of wailing on a beast boss. This seemed to work as I was able to whittle his HP down to half before it let out a howl. The boss entered its second phase!

Vordt started to dash around the arena, trying his hardest to hit me. But thanks to a couple of dodges, I was able to evade its attempts at killing me. After a certain point, it just stood there, charging up something. This was just the window of opportunity that I needed to take it down. So, taking inspiration from a EMIYA, I took some of my broken swords and stabbed them into Vordt. They really didn't do any damage but as I imbued my mana into the swords. An explosion of blood made its way out of his body.

The swords that were stabbed in extended and burst within Vordt's body. Creating this beautiful mess that was currently happening in front of me. His body disintegrated into dust, and I received a notification.

[You have Received 6750G and 3000 souls]

A small bonfire then ignited at the center of the arena. Having way too many souls at the moment, I chose to go back to the Firelink Shrine.

Getting back, I was greeted by the Firekeeper. "Welcome Home, ashen one. Speak thine heart's desire" I requested her to level me up, to which she said yes.

[Point Allocation: 3 Vigor, 2 Faith]

After using the majority of my souls in leveling up, I then talked to the keeper. "So, do you have another name besides fire keeper? Perhaps your name from before you became a firekeeper." To which she replied with. "No, I do not ashen one. I have denounced my name as an oath to the flame. To swear that I shall not put my own personal needs before yours."

I took a minute to think before coming up with something. "How about I give you a name." "I shall follow whatever you desire ashen one." This however didn't really sit well with me. Or the words she said. "Wait before we talk about that, is it ok for you to stop calling me ashen one? Or are you forced by the flame to just call me 'ashen one'? It's just, it doesn't feel right since, you just, no pun intended, blindly trust me."

The firekeeper looked sort of stunned for a minute, before recomposing herself and answering. "I see then, how would you like to be called?" "Kayneth, that is my name. As for your name… it shall be Vestia. Yes, Vestia, A sort of variation on a goddess's name. A goddess who governed over the home, and fireplaces. Fitting isn't it, Vestia?"

"Yes Kayneth, that name is quite lovely. Thank you." She said smiling at me. Now, this smile right here. Multiple simps would die for this shit, it's just too damn precious. And it was like this that we both went on to discuss the world and a multitude of other issues surrounding it. This was going to be the only contact that I'll have for about a full day, as I plan to get best girl her eyes.

Teleporting back into Vordt's bonfire, I was now ready to begin the long and regrettably painful journey to kill 3 mid-game bosses. But before starting I was given a Quest.

[Quest Added]

Forgotten Eyes of the Truth

Objective- Get the lost firekeeper's eyes, and give them back to Vestia.

Reward – Massive Aff with Vestia, 100k G, 2 Gacha Spins, [Soul Weapon Attunement]

Time Limit- 36 Hours

Failure – Sight and Hearing taken away

This was going to be painful. So, running back up the stairs, dodging the two knights that were blocking the path along the way. I made it back to the high priestess. Walking up to her, she was surprised to see me once again. Mostly at the fact that I was once again returning to her after being Vordt. "What is wrong, Unkindled One? Are you not a Lordseeker? Head to the base of the High Wall and seek the Lords of Cinder. Is this not the calling of your kind, since ages past?"

Those were her last words before I shoved my halberd through her body. "A Lord, he must be... My dear Prince...Lothric..."

[You have Gained an Item]

Just as the old priestess died, all the candles were snuffed out. The door behind me closed, and a sludge-like mass appeared on the ceiling. Said mass started to form into a deformed person. The figure slowly crawled out of the sludge, and dropped to the ground silently, almost as if it had done this many times before. The deformed person slowly looked up and pulling out its sword, engaged in combat, lighting said sword ablaze.

[Boss: Dancer of the Boreal Valley]

'So, do you just automatically play the music, or do you have to pick?'

[I just play whatever feels right.]

[The reason why I played Vordt's theme, was because of the chess kid.]

[You can honestly pick any music you want.]

'Neat, so can you play 'Forces' I already know this is going to be a long battle, and I need some motivational music.'

[No problem, this shit gets monotonous the more you die.]

*Playing Forces – Susumu Hirasawa*

Just as the music started, I slowly crept towards the boss. Going over the standard strategy that people employed for this boss. Though it wouldn't last that long, as the dancer would catch on sooner or later and adapt to my strategy.

But as I was trying to get to the dancer's rear end, she grabbed me. This instantly spelled death for me, as she brought me up high and stabbed her sword through my body.

[1000 Damage Received]

*Sigh* This is going to be the longest day of my life

[You Died]

Attempt 2

Going through the fog gate, the dancer was awaiting me, I ran to her rear end and was able to get a couple of hits in. That was before she slashed at my midsection, bisecting me instantly.

Attempt 6

A new strategy, use the bow and take potshots at her while rolling. This actually worked. That was until she displayed a new move. She jumped up into the air and slammed her sword into the ground, the floor burst with fire and I burned to death.

Seems like dodging is going to be harder than I thought.

Attempt 11

Ok, this time, how about we go for parrying her. I mean, it shouldn't be that hard right, just swing and ruin her rhythm, right? Problem is, parring her is like playing catch using a ball littered with fire ants. It is possible but rather hard to ignore the pain afterward.

The best shield I have currently was the [East-West Shield] … Ah! I can use the 'Staff Spin' skill to sort off parry. Though with the current damage right now…it should take me at least 50 stabs to kill the dancer.

So, giving it a go, I attempted the gauntlet of such an endurance run. She opened up with a sweeping lunge attack, which I dodged 'perfectly'. She bent her body to prepare another attack. Luckily enough, I was already familiar with it and was able to move out of the way before it hit me.

I began to wail attack after attack on the dancer, and before long it entered phase 2. Shit got real. The dancer pulled out another sword, this one shrouded in darkness, a contrast to the previous sword which was lit ablaze.

And without me noticing, it wrote something on the ground. The next thing I knew, fire and darkness exploded and danced across the room. I didn't even have enough time to get the Beyblade portion of the fight.

[You Died]

Attempt 26

FUCK, I was so close to beating that bitch. AHHHHHHHHH.

*Sigh* This is the first boss that we have to beat, and I'm already tired. Shit. Ok, we do this shit for the waifu. *Sigh* at least we have a strategy to kill it now. Mapping out each move and how long it'd take for it to land.

With one last tired sigh, I made a promise to myself. For this to be the last run of the dancer, to finally kill her.

Walking up the stairs one last time, I once again slowly entered the room. Checking each side for the sneaky dancer.

Looking up, I was able to spot it before it could get the drop on me. So, I threw a firebomb at it to make it fall. *Clang* The armor clanked falling to the ground. The dancer slowly got up and performed it slow and dance. A dance which we had performed many times.

Sweeping her sword towards me, I rolled forward. But it had already seen this and prepared a grab at the same time. This was avoided when multiple dark spikes erupted from my body. The dancer shrieked as blood poured out of her gauntlets. This didn't stop her, as she went to another sweep attack.

Once again seeing this, I spun my staff and redirected the attack, leaving her open to a riposte. I went behind her and shoved my entire weapon inside her. The stun didn't last long, however, as she once again got up. But instead of attacking, she started writing on the ground. I had to decide whether this was a delayed attack or an immediate explosion. Either way, whichever happens, I'm going to have to take quite a bit of damage.

*BANG*

The blast was an immediate one, more like napalm as it littered the floor with fire. It was about to go for another sweeping slash, but I just parried it to the side giving me one more opportunity to abuse riposting. I once again give her a backstab, as she slumped down on the floor.

Phase two was just about to begin. Shoving her hand into the ground, a black mist enveloped it, as it exploded in an AOE attack. The floor was now flooded in both fire and darkness. She raised both her swords to the left, and began spinning, swinging her swords as she moved.

Deflecting most of the attacks and dodging some, I was able to successfully survive the move. But as I was having my little celebration, the dancer put her weapons overhead and slammed one of them into the ground. And with the other, sweep it across the floor, forcing me to jump to avoid it.

It caught me in a trap. Gripping her other sword, she slashed at my midsection, confident in my defeat. This however was narrowly avoided, when I transformed into a rat.

It had no real reliable way to hit me in this form, and so I abused it and ran up a pillar. Once at the top, I gripped my weapon and folded the space just above its head.

*BRRRRR*

That was the sound of me falling onto the dancer and the subsequential crash that happened after. I looked around me, noticing that the dancer wasn't moving at all. I stayed there a good few seconds, taking a few deep breaths. Though there was something I didn't notice. In the dancers dying moments, it had cast a delayed spell, a spell that would activate twenty-second after its death. Giving it enough time for me/any unlucky fool, to drop their guard.

It nearly worked, the only problem was… it emitted a bright light just moments before exploding. So just as it was about to explode, I folded the space in front of me like an omelet and fled the scene.

*BOOM*

[500 Damage Received]

Even if I was able to run, the large explosion and the size of the room, limited the amount of space I could move in. Though it is better than being burned char.

[You have Received 135000G and 60000Souls]

[You have Gained an Item]

[Skill Updated]

[Polearm Mastery] {Apprentice}

Gives 20% Damage Bonus using polearms

This specific screen has now made worth it. Best course of action is… trying my luck at the gacha! HAHAHA! But seriously though, it was the best thing to do as of right now. I still had to deal with both Oceiros and Champion Gundyr, the latter of which is going to literally kick my ass to death. So two rolls should be just fine.

[Rolling Gacha]

[Bag of Groceries]

Contains a weeks worth supply of groceries.

[Kaleidoscope,Operation of Parallel Worlds] (Passive/Active)

… Damn, I don't even know what to say anymore. Have fun, I guess.

The second True Magic to be discovered. The ability to peer and interact with other worlds. You can use it go to other worlds without the help of the system, travel through time by going to another world, and on top of all of that… a massive increase to mana reserves. How else are you supposed to jump through worlds without it costing a lot of mana?

+ 5 MAG per level

+Flaw [Type Adversaries]

Cost- 50000 MP per jump

[Type Adversaries] {Fate}

You have now made it upon Gaia's shit list, she'll definitely try to kill you at least once during your visit. The only way to appease her is by doing absolutely nothing. Then again, she'll still try screwing you over.

Holy SHIT! Is this where all my luck from GACHA went into… damn. I don't even know how to feel about it. This much power in one person…damn. Then again, according to lore, people from the age of gods could basically replicate true magic, even if it's different.

Anyways, I spent the rest of my money on leveling up, giving me … 17 level!

[Skill Gained]

[Throw] (Active)

Yes, throw your weapon at your opponent. Can be used to extend combo and or throw people off at how much of an idiot you are for throwing it away, only for you to pick it back up.

Damage- Weapon Damage X 1.5

Cost- 300 SP

[Due to skill { Kaleidoscope}, {Wielder of Fold} will be updated]

[Concept of Multiversal Fold] (Active)

The power to fold anything, now allowing multiversal hits.

Once again, neat. This should, theoretically, allow me to loop around and repeatedly kill all the bosses, with less effort. Then again, who'd want to suffer even more than they should (people who play ng+ more than 10 times)?

Moving to the bonfire that has been standing there for the past…10? minutes, I lit it up and moved back over to the Firelink Shrine.

"Welcome, Ash- I mean, Kayneth, what is it that you desire?" Vestia greeted me with a smile on her face. "Well, I was just thinking of upgrading my weapon along with using my souls to power myself up. But what about you? Do you need anything, a souvenir from my travels perhaps?" I asked looking to see if she reacts to anything.

"I do not require of such item Kayneth, I would much rather you have the items instead of me." She responded, 'looking' down at the floor. "No, no. It does not bother me at all. You know what, the next time I come back here, how about I give you a gift. Such a give that your eyes would sparkle." I spoke, my tone hinting at what was to come.

"But, Kayneth, I do not have eyes, how could they sparkle as you say they would? Even if you get a miracle, all firekeepers have lost their eyes after the first and are like that for the foreseeable future." She worriedly exclaimed think that he was going to something that would be dangerous and have it all for naught.

"You'll see eventually, you'll see." I assured her, whispering the last. And so, I walked to Andre to get my gear upgraded.

So, I was able to get a +4 on my halberd, this should do for now.

Damage- X 1.3 -> 2.1

I was also able to upgrade my estus capacity, now having 6 and putting all of it into the hp restoring variant.

Going back to Vestia I increased my 'SL' and use the leftover souls.

[Point Allocation: 6 Vigor, 4 Intelligence, 5 Faith]

And with those upgrades, I was headed back to the dancer's bonfire to continue my journey.

[Time Remaining: 30 Hours]

*Sigh* It's now time to do Oceiros. He's going to be a pain in the ass, but going through the garden will be tougher. The men made of pus will absolutely murder me, so the best thing to do is… "FUCKING RUN!" I gracefully shout, running away from the multiple pus of men chasing after me. Now you may be wonder how exactly I got into this situation, it's quite simple you se-

That never actually happened, just a simulation. Or perhaps a memory of the past… may be, isn't like I'm actually going to care about it. Going over to the small statue, I placed the item that I got from the priestess. A ladder slowly descends from above me, opening up the later part of the game I wasn't supposed to explore till later.

Going up the ladder, I completely ignored what was in front and took a right turn over to the Consumed King's Garden. The door to the left was a shortcut, we'll be using that a lot later. Walking forward, I was met with a special Kight which could only be found in the garden.

"Why hello there Mr. knight. Mind moving over for a bit, I need entrance into the garden." I asked looking at the towering figure in front of me. It only turned its head and stared for a few moments, before it pulled out its massive mace and slammed it into the ground in front of us, clearly indicating no entry.

So, I did what must be done. Putting mana into the tip of the halberd, I performed a thrust attack. This attack was somehow able to stagger the knight, stumbling him enough for it the pierce directly into him. This wouldn't be the end, however, as I let the mana run loose. Multiple dark spikes shot out of his body, leaving him looking like a human pin cushion.

[You have Received 6300G and 2800Souls]

[You have Gained an Item]

This was truly the difference between the areas. While the hollow in the wall all gave around 20-200, the knight in front of me just gave a huge number. Either way, the only reason why I killed it was because of magic.

Going to the elevator to the right, I began the descent into 'madness'. I jumped out as soon as the 'secret' area revealed itself. I bagged both the estus shard and the chunk, which should be used later.

Now, the area surrounding me has like 3-5 abyssal pus men, if I run stealthily, I might just avoid one of them, while also getting the item along the way… Sounds like a good plan. These were my last thoughts of hope when trying to get the shortcut open.

Jumping off the small platform, I was immediately cut off by the first pus of man. It tried to hit me with a sort of 'heavy strike', but dodging through the attacks seems to work out. Then a second one appeared in front of me. Now, a slight tidbit of knowledge for those who don't know, dodging forward is the best strategy to dodge them… for me anyway. I was able to dodge the first attack but was hit with the follow-up.

[175 Damage Received]

Thankfully, it was a light attack. A full heavy attack would be around 500, and by that point the first one could have already caught up, killing me as I got sucked in between a rough place and a wall. I continued running until I got to the titanite chunk, which I immediately shoved into my inventory while running from the puses.

I was eventually able to reach another elevator, this time for the shortcut. So going up the elevator, I quickly killed all the fodder enemies, going up to the door and opening it. With this, I was now able to farm at least 10k souls per run or 22.5k G. Though, I'd have to time myself on the other large knights on the way to see how long it'd take.

Going back once again to the bonfire, I regained my estuses and formulated a plan for the dragon fanboy. Though there is one problem, the incessant need to kill the knights for their souls and money.

So with the plan in mind, I ran all the way back over to the shortcut elevator, killing the other knight for free money using the explosion method. Going down said elevator, I quickly jumped off on the second level, which just so happened to be a shortcut to the boss area.

Walking around, I was able to find a useless ring and a good place to throw some buffed throwing knives. So, killing its previous occupants, I aimed my knives directly for the first knight in my sight.

*Stab* X 2

Due to the area, I was able to hit some of them using 'Throw'. The skill really is useful. So, after focusing on the lingering mana on the knives, I immediately thought of it going outward, as if to reject the body it was trapped in. The result wasn't as expected, blood poured out like usual, but it was different. Instead of gushing out like a fountain, it instead, left the knights body, and formed into a ball, quickly making him a skeleton. Damn, that was… certainly not expected.

[You have Received 7000G and 2800 Souls]

But at least, there is one more gruesome way to kill someone. Looking more to the right, there was one more knight, standing there with his massive ultra-great sword, ready to mess me. I could just explode him with spikes… but he has a portion of magic resist, meaning I'll have to go up close. Either way, I'm just bored and want to have some fun… this was also a fun/painful idea, dark souls gives pain.

Getting into his agro range, I waited for him to approach me. And once he was close enough, he did a stomp. What happened next is me forgetting game mechanics. As expected, he drags his weapon through the dirt and swiping it into the air. I tried (and failed) to disrupt his attacks by doing an overhead slam, it wasn't enough and I was flung up into the air by his very long and big sword.

[600 Damage Received]

'Damn, that was just more than half of my hp gone.' Those were my last thoughts before noticing the knight setting up another attack.

[500 Damage Received]

*Gore Sound Effects*

That was the sound of my body getting cut in half. Even if I'm dying, I can only complement the way he cut it, super clean, even if it's a strike weapon. Then again, there aren't that many things to compare with. After a second, my body is separated by his kick and I fall to the ground looking at my injury.

[You Died]

*Sigh* Well, at least I can now go to Andre and reinforce my estus. Which I did, returning back to the bonfire after taking that quick break.

Running back to the knight which killed me (while killing the hollows on the way), I readied all my buffs and slowly walked to the first knight. And because game physics and regular physics exist, I was able to approach him without arousing suspicion.

Slowly aiming my weapon directly at his heart, I pierced throw it with throw for extra damage. The hulking knight fell forward with my weapon sticking out of his chest.

I then went over to the second one, doing the same thing as I did last time, getting in its agro range. It once again performed a stomp as its opening move. But, instead of rushing it like last time, I instead waited for it to whiff. The attack misses me, and another attack grazes my cheek. Just as the second attack lands on me, I slammed my weapon into his skull, splitting his head down the middle.

[You have Received 14000G and 5600 Souls]

[You have Gained an Item]

Looking at my total balance, I went for another round of gacha and a level up… Why are looking at me like that? The bosses from here on out will demolish me. Especially Champion Gundyr.

So, my best chances are just to roll for gacha and level up with the remainder.

[Rolling Gacha]

Huh, neat. I only have one ability that can be applicable to this… Hey game does this work with every skill?

I-

[Good, now off to torment some evil/innocent souls.]

[Bye now.]

That was ominous, wasn't it? Anyway, moving on. I have a boss to kill. Onwards with me nonexistent voice, onwards!

Entering the fog gate, I was met with a weird sight. An old…thing that had the appearance of both a dried-up raisin and a crystal lizard, clutching what looked to be his… penis? I don't want to look further into it. Just as I took a couple of steps, the fake dragon spoke.

"Ahh, you ignorant slaves. Finally taken notice, have you? Of the power of my beloved Ocelotte, child of dragons. Well, I will not give him up. For he is all that I have." He turned towards me, grabbing his staff and readying for a battle.

[Boss: Oceiros, the Consumed King]

'Ok, let's go through this one last time. First phase, smack the front and keep dodging, if he flies, delay dodge for a bout a second. Phase two, throw all that shit out the window and do you best to survive. Sound about right.' I thought reapplying my buff as to not be left a sitting duck.

First boss attack is, the goddamn ice field. This is going to be a pain. But, not moving at all would be the best decision. He'll just whack me over the head as soon as I get close enough anyway.

Letting the spell dissipate, Ocerios was now approaching me. Walking slowly towards me. Now, I'm not am an idiot, but not that much. So, I dodge towards him instead of running. It worked; the boss slammed his staff into the ground trying swat me like a fly. I was able to get a couple of hits in, and before I know it phase two began.

"Ocelotte!" The boss roared out, leaving me stunned. He started to flip out, tossing and turning looking for his kid?. And once all of that was over, he turned his attention towards me, the person who just 'killed' his kid.

He immediately began swiping his claws at me, clawing at my body once I had taken enough stamina.

[100 Damage Received] X 7

Even as I was still recovering, he continued. Tackling me into the wall and ripping out my insides.

[600 Damage Received]

[You Died]

*Sigh* Here we go again.
