Episode 19: Satella's Revenge.....?

[ ~ Chapter • Start ~ ]

Rance was staring at the unconscious body of Leila, smiling with apparent victory..... even if the fight did last for only 20 seconds because Rance began removing Ithere's brainwashing spells on the captain of the Royal Guard.

He did find out that the Dark Lord was stacking his enhancements on her, and began to immediately "read" the spells and remove them one by one while they clashed blades.

After that, he looked at the soldiers who were just standing there in awe, and due to intuition, and the fact that he sensed a familiar mana signature that was slowly growing in one place, he frowned.

"Kanami! Take your friend to safety, that also includes the people inside this cathedral, stay near the gates!!" He yelled, with utter seriousness present on his tone, and due to this, the people decided to follow his orders.

Well, except Sill and Shizuka who stubbornly stayed in place, while Rance was not fine with the green mage being there.

After that, a blinding flash of light appeared in the middle of the cathedral, and three familiar figures appeared in the light's place.

"The Dark Lord Satella is back for revenge, Rance!" Said Dark Lord yelled as she pointed at him with a smug expression. "This time, I would not hold back!"

Suddenly, Shizuka stepped forward and pointed her palm towards Satella.

"Ice Laser!" She shouted, as a blue colored beam hit the Dark Lord straight on her face, before she was engulfed in solid ice.

Yet, suddenly she moved. Her facial expression shifted to that of slight irritance, and with a hard movement of her hand, she broke the ice that locked her in place.

Her two guardians were not worried at all, as they believed she is too strong for a meager spell like that.

"Seriously? Mmh, a weakling like you cannot harm Satella, stay out of the way!" Satella spoke, clearly mocking Shizuka for her futile attempt as she approached Rance.

Shizuka did not falter.

"Hey, I'll ask you this, for the last time! Be Satella's lesser apostle!"

Rance stared blankly towards the Dark Lord.

"You're.... very stubborn, aren't you? Fine, fine...."

He began to approach Satella, too, and she was feeling quite giddy. The guardians she made were both worried for her own safety, and because of that, they were ready to

And due to Rance having no time for her crap, he whispered several things under his mouth.

"[Mana Masking: Level 2], [Agility Booster: Level 2], [Strength Booster: Level 1]." Was what he whispered, as when she was close enough, he swiftly moved behind Satella and wrapped his armored arms around her waist, before forward and gently placed his head beside her.

Satella actually could see him move, but he was nothing more than a green and brown blur. And it was beginning to almost scare her, just like that time a massive monster, by the name Kayblis appeared-

"You.... you're a masochist, aren't you?" He whispered straight at her ear, before blowing on it, making her squeak in a flabbergasted manner. "Sadly for you, I'm also not in the mood to be some nobody's servant! Rance-style SUPLEEEX~!"

Her next expression amused him; as she sent an elbow right towards his cheek, yet with a smile he immediately tightened his grip on her waist and proceeded to lean backwards and use the German Suplex before she could ever hit him.

"I'm not some nobooodddyyyyyyyy---!!!!"

Satella screamed in denial before her head was immediately planted through the floor, sending earthquakes that reverberate around the floor. A crater was placed right at the center of impact, meaning that Rance had dealt quite an immense amount of damage to her, and the floor.

Now that was done of, Rance flipped forwards, landing on his feet in front of Shizuka and Sill, who were both surprised, yet the former didn't show any expression other than seriousness.

Shizuka swiftly warned Rance about the raging guardians that were right behind him, and they were wrathful about letting their own master get hurt like that.

Still, he steadily blocked an axe that had been aimed directly on his neck, and then immediately pushed it to the side, letting it hit the floor.

"RANCE. MUST. PAY!" The stone guardian, Caesar, roared, and his fellow apostle could not agree more.

Then suddenly, two fire lasers coming from both Shizuka and Sill hit the two apostles, damaging them immediately and covering them with smoke.

It provided enough time for Rance to hop back and stare behind him before he deactivated his buffs.

"If there's anybody who can help us defeat these enemies, then I would gladly accept your help right here and now, you know! We can't let them destroy more of this sacred place!" He spoke with powerful charisma present on his tone, convincing several people, even the nun inside the cathedral that originally felt helpless immediately went to action.

And just in time, Rick Addison, Barres Provence, and Bridgette along with a few groups of their respective soldiers had arrived. They were surprised at the unusual figures in front of them, especially a girl whose head had been quite literally planted on the floor in the middle of a small crater, they noticed movement on her, too.

Rick, Barres and Bridgette immediately began to report what they had done in a quick and simple manner because there is a battle that was about to happen sooner.

And Rance was happy about what they reported. Nevertheless, one of Satella's apostles pulled her from the ground and gently put her down.

"Pweh! Argh....!" Satella clenched her head as she began to regain her focus from the concussion she had been given by Rance. "Satella was taken by surprise back there!"

How many years was it when she felt pain on her head? Decades? Centuries? Yeah, definitely centuries.

It doesn't really matter now, what truly matters is how a mere human like Rance was capable of hurting Dark Lords. Was he an apostle? Or maybe was he a Dark Lord like her, but from the opposing faction?

She shook her head, too many questions and too much contemplation will definitely get her nowhere.

So...

"Caesar, Isis! Do not hold back, kill them all! Satella will deal with Rance alone!" She commanded as she slammed her riding crop to the floor. "Satella will not be taken by surprise anymore, as she is serious this time!"

Rance smirked in amusement, as he noticed that they were currently equal in power.

"We'll see about that!" Shizuka yelled before Rance could say the same thing, leading him to shrug.

The same nun from earlier approached him, asking to assist him, and he didn't really mind any good assistances.

The soldiers behind him roared, then began their tactical battle against the apostles of Satella, not before Rance used his magic to enhance their abilities for better survival.

This battle was just getting started!
