“Yeah.”

“I wonder if we’d experience anything if we were to drive down there and visit the location.”

“From what I’ve learned,” Carlton said, “any buildings that might have been there are long gone, and the land is being used for grazing cattle these days. There’s no way to tell where on the property the two men might have actually lived.”

“So, it’s another dead end.”

“Pretty much.” 22

They made their third trip to Atlanta at the end of September, and as the previous trip had done, their sessions yielded more information, but it wasn’t enough to satisfy them.

“I’m sorry the sessions weren’t more productive,” Dr. Brannon said afterward.

“That’s hardly your fault,” Carlton said, “and I’ve been thinking about what comes next.”

“Go on,” she said.
