What. Was. That?!

I make it back to my pack shaken. They all greet me happily. What's with that two legger? Where did the wolf go? What's going on?! One of the pups tries to play with me but I just shake her off. I am not in the mood right now. Before long the pack is winding down getting ready to sleep. We curl up close together outside the den and fall asleep.

That was so weird! I wake up thinking about last night. I hope I never see that wolf again. He would be dangerous for my pack... spoke too soon. As we ready for our hunt gathering up the pups I see movement in the woods. I turn to it and growl. Out pops the large brown wolf.

He doesn't attack which suprises me. I figured he would challenge me for my pack. I stay on alert growling at the intruder. He slowly walks toward me. When he gets too close I snap at him. He jumps back just watching me. When his eyes go to my pack... the pups... I come unglued.

I pounce on the wolf and we go rolling away from my pack. Once my feet hit the ground again I am growling at the wolf ready to fight. My pack starts to circle the intruder. He will not hurt us... I won't let him. When he sees how outnumbered he is the wolf runs off. Good riddance! I huff in his direction.

We had a good hunt once that wolf was taken care of. We brought back some meat for the mother wolf played with the pups and just relaxed the rest of the day.

No one really wants to go anywhere this morning so it's a kinda lazy day. Some of the pups started killing small animals. Lookin' good they will be full grown hunters in no time. I take a walk just to clear my mind. That wolf has me on edge. He followed me back here. To my pack. We can't move with the young mother and new pups so fending him off may become a repetitive ordeal.

"What's your name?" I turn around quickly. The two legger is back again. I growl at it.

"Why won't you shift?" I continue to growl. This two legger needs to leave me alone.

"So..." it sits on a rock watching me. "You live with wild wolves?... never heard of that. A werewolf living with common wild wolves.. hu?" It won't leave me alone. It keeps talking... but it doesn't seem dangerous. I sit down and just watch it. "I'm Alic by the way.... how long have you lived like this?"

What does it mean? I am a wolf. I had a momma wolf and a poppa wolf. multiple brother and sister wolves. I am a wolf! the two leggers need to leave me alone I am a wolf! I know I'm different but I am a wolf!

"You can trust me... I can take you back to my pack... wait... you don't know what I'm talking about do you?" I give him a confused look. A wolf living with two leggers? No way that would work!

"You don't know what you are do you?... how long have you been in wolf form?... months?... years?... do you even remember being human?" Human? That's what it is... yea I'm still gonna call it a two legger. It stands up and walks toward me.

"I'm gonna show you something. Don't be scared. You ready?" This two legger is nuts. I watch it carefully. My jaw drops as the two legger becomes the brown wolf from before. I growl at him.

He slowly approaches me. He is being cautious as he should be. I want to attack him but I am still confused as to how the two legger became this massive wolf. He nuzzles into my neck.

I grab his scruff and pull him away from me. I don't know you like that! I growl at him again. He bows his head and runs away. He looked... sad. My wolves don't show that much emotion. This wolf is different.

"Like us." What was that?! A voice in my head. No... shut up! This is so weird!

I run back to my pack. They are all laying around near the den. This day is so confusing! The way the two legger talked. The two legger is the wolf!? How is that possible?!

I lay down in the middle of the pack. Some give me odd looks but most just go about their business. I don't want to mess with them right now anyway. I'm too preoccupied with thoughts of this two legger/wolf thing.

Alic's POV

An amazing scent hits my nose on the middle of my run. What is that?! I run towards it. When suddenly I see a wolf I've never seen before. She is not part of my pack... what is she doing here? I run after her and tackle her. To my surprise she throws me off and starts growling. My wolf isn't too fond of the challenge and growls. She needs to shift. I have to talk to her. Find out why she is in my territory.

Wow! She just collapsed! Crap! Stupid Alpha comand I need to get this under control! I see her laying there panting face down on the ground. She looks to be about my age. I shift.

"I'm so sorry!" I say running over to her. "I'm not used to being able to comand people I'm so sorry! Are you ok?!"

"What?!" She pants looking up at me. In a second she flashes back into wolf form and is off running away from me.

What just happened? Why won't she talk to me? She was only human for a second... maybe she just prefers being a wolf.

I shift and follow her. She stops a few miles away on the edge of my territory. Wolves... like wild wolves! She walks into the pack. The pups try to play with her but she throws them off and plops on the ground. The other wolves curl up near her and eventually they all fall asleep.

Is she part of a common wolf pack? No way... she's a werewolf! She can't live with them!

"Alic where are you?" Dad links me.

"I'm gonna camp out tonight... maybe a few days... I'll be home later." I tell him.

"Aaron wants to continue your training tomorrow." Dad says. Crap! Stupid Alpha training.

"This is important... I'll be back soon... I just need some time." I link him.

"Ok Alic... I get it take your time... just let me know if you get in any trouble." He responds. He thinks I'm just freaked about being an Alpha... I am but that's not it... I need to find out about this girl.

I find a spot just outside her sensory range and go to sleep.

When I wake up I make my way back to the wild wolf pack. I see her gathering up the pups getting ready to leave with the adults. Hunting party? She really is part of this pack!

She must have seen me because she starts to growl in my direction. I come out of the woods and stand there watching her. Slowly I approach. She snaps at me and I jump back. She is protecting them... from me? She sees me as a threat... maybe coming as a wolf wasn't such a good idea. I look to the wolves behind her. Bad idea! She lunges at me and we go rolling. When we are back on our feet she starts growling again.

The other wolves circle me. Yup hunting party. I don't want to fight them. Killing her pack won't help her trust me. So I take the only other option and run. They don't follow. I need a new plan.

I run back towards my pack and get the clothes I had stashed in the woods then return to the wild wolves. Tomorrow I will try to talk to her... maybe I'll be less threatening as a human.

When I wake up I go back to my human form and dress. I watch the wolves lay about. I guess they aren't hunting today. I see her break from the group. Perfect! I follow her away from the wild wolves.

"What's your name?" I ask. Not that she can answer me in her current form but what do you say to a wolf? I need her to trust me enough to shift on her own. She just growls. "Why won't you shift?" She continues to growl so I back away and sit on a rock trying to make myself smaller. Less intimidating. "So... You live with wild wolves?... never heard of that. A werewolf living with common wild wolves.. hu?" She sits down and just stares at me. "I'm Alic by the way... how long have you lived like this?" She must have been out here a while for them to trust her this much.

"You can trust me... I can take you back to my pack... wait... you don't know what I'm talking about do you?" She just looks confused. Does she even know about packs? Werewolves?

"You don't know what you are do you?... how long have you been in wolf form?... months?... years?... do you even remember being human?" She doesn't understand what I am... what she is... I'm gonna have to show her.

"I'm gonna show you something. Don't be scared. Are you ready?" I shift. She looks amazed but then starts to growl.

I cautiously approach. She is tense but doesn't stop me. I need to calm her down... show her I'm not a threat. I nuzzle into her neck. She quickly pulls me away and growls.... I ruined it. I lower my head... how can I get through to her? I run off to think of another plan.

"Malak?" I mind link him.

"Alic! Dad wants you back here! You're gonna be Alpha next week we need to prepare and train! Where are you?" My Beta yells through our link.

"I need your help... don't tell your Dad it's... delicate... meet me by the lake... oh and bring me some shorts I kinda destroyed mine." I link him. I didn't want to strip in front of her to shift so I no longer have clothes.

"Ok?... I'm on my way." He says.

"Thanks Malak." I respond and cut the link.

"What is this about?" He asks as he throws me the shorts. I shift and put them on.

"I met a girl... she is kinda... different." I say.

"More information Alaric." He says.

"She seems to be stuck in wolf form... I'm not sure she even knows what she is... I've been trying to get close to her but nothing seemed to work." I tell him.

"Show me." I lead Malak to the wild wolf pack.
