CHAPTER 2

*CHAPTER 2*

*ALICE'S P.O.V.*

I got ready for school quickly and went to meet my mom outside. She was the only one I had; my dad abandoned us 4 years ago, we hadn't seen him since then. He seized our money and possessions and ran away with his lover, so my mom had to start from the scratch this past 4 years. I am proud of her because I know she is doing a lot for me despite everything that she's been going through.

We rented a 2-bedroom flat after my dad left because my mom didn't have enough money to maintain our old house. We sold a lot of our furniture and technical-related items. Our house now only had 2 couches, a table and 3 dining chairs, a mini-sized T.V and 2 beds in the room. I had a lot going on in my school, but I didn't tell my mom so I wouldn't add to her stress. I loved her so much and I won't want my school issues to bother her too.

I saw her waiting in the car, so I hopped in. She started the car and drove. The car ride was a bit awkward because no one said a word. It seemed like she was thinking about my weird dreams, so I tried calling her attention to me.

"Mom!" I yelled a bit.

"Huh," she replied absent-mindedly. So I called again, "Mom!"

She looked at me and asked, "What's wrong?" I didn't think indulging her in a conversation would be this hard cause I didn't know what to say.

"Um...um..." I stammered.

"Speak up," she demanded.

"What did you pack for breakfast?" I asked.

"Really?" She asked in disbelief, "is THAT what you wanted to ask," she clarified.

"Uhh huh," I replied.

She shook her head, kept on driving and didn't look in my direction again. "At least I got her to stop thinking," I told myself.

*VROOM!!!*

We arrived at my school gate, which read "Unity High School". I got out of the car and left for school immediately without turning to look at my mum.

"Oh, here comes mommy's girl,"

I heard Veronica's sarcastic remark. I chose to ignore her 'cause that's all they knew how to do.

When I decided to find my way to class, my crush obstructed my way.

"What's up, kitten?"

I have insanely bad luck, even my crush bullies me, he even plotted with Veronica and her friends to lock me up in a storage room and didn't let me go until I was on the verge of death.

"Victor, please move out of my way," I said with gritted teeth.

"Why, kitten?" He asked innocently.

"Because you just need to move," I replied.

"What if I say no?" He was starting to annoy me, but what could I do. I was weak and not just with him, with everyone too.

"Victor, she said, get out of her way".

I was never so happy to see Oliver.

"What's your problem, man?" Victor asked, tapping Oliver's shoulder a little too hard.

"Did you just touch me?" Oliver asked, annoyed.

"Yes, I did. So what?" Victor replied. Then, suddenly Oliver gave Victor a punch...
