The Zhang Siblings

Radix took notice of a pair of siblings: Zhang Jie and Zhang Luoyang. Jie was the son of the first wife of the main household of the illustrious Zhang clang within the Kidou kingdom.

He is 14 year old and Luoyang is 16. Despite their status as the first young master and first young lady, they never lived a happy life. Their mother, Zhuan Zexian, passed away shortly after giving birth to Jie, under suspicious circumstances to say the least. Both he and his sister looked more like their mother than their father, which earned the ire of the rest of the family who accused their mother of being unfaithful behind their fathers back.

Zhang Jie stood at 5"10, inheriting his mothers azure green eyes and raven black hair. He always kept his hair loose, as he enjoyed the feeling of freedom it brought when it was blowing in the wind. He was not particularly physically fit nor well built due to the physical and mental abuse growing up.

Zhang Luoyang was the same, standing at 5"10. She too inherited her mothers azure green eyes and raven black hair, and there were indications she was going to inherit their mothers beauty when she was younger. Their mother was a beauty that made any man stop what they were doing to stare and appreciate her looks, with her azure green phonix eyes, skin fair and smooth as jade and waist length raven black hair that shimmered under the sun.

Out of fear of Zhang Louyang inheriting her mothers looks, the siblings fathers 2nd wife, Cui Zan, often had her servants chain Louyang to a stake in the back of the siblings "courtyard", to force her skin to bake under the scorching sun.

As a result Louyang looked nearly double her age with her aged, damaged and heavily tanned skin. Zhang Jie often tried to cover his sister with big leaves to provide her with some shade and alleviate some suffering, but Cui Zan would have her servants beat him with a rod 10 times for every leaf he brought.

The condition of the two siblings was indistinguishable from that of a beggar after suffering years of mistreatment.

Louyang was little more than skin and bones. She had long lost her will to live, the only reason she carries on is her brother. She knows he is all she has left in this world, and hopes that the gentle release of death will come for her brother before her.

Their father, Zhang Kong - also known as the Sun General, was one of the 2 military pillars of the Kidou kingdom. He was rarely at home due to the virtually never ending conflicts and minor skirmishes between the Kidou kingdom and the Meng kingdom.

When he was home he never bothered the seek the children of his First wife and spent his time with his Second wife and her children, coupled with the fact Cui Zan kept them separated with a never ending string of excuses and reasons.

He trusted Cui Zan to at least provide for Zhang Jie and Zhang Louyang.

The Kidou kingdom was an exceptionally large kingdom that lies to the south of the Void Curtain. It contains tens of millions of citizens, and is one of the larger kingdoms on the human continent.

It is truly a country that has it all, environmentally at least. High, snowy peaks that staunchly contrast the flat arid deserts, which compliment the flat green plains that had both gentle streams and raging rivers running through them.

To the east of the kingdom lies an ocean that is rumored to never end.

To the west lies the Meng kingdom which could be considered a reflection of the Kidou kingdom, as the environment is practically the same.

To the north lies the Yún kingdom. Aptly named for it's endless peaks that reach far into the clouds, hidden for sight.

What remains in the south is unknown, as nobody has ever returned from the journey through the endless, lifeless, arid desert.

The reason the Zhang siblings caught the attention of Radix, was their souls. Their souls were stronger than anyone else within this galaxy, many orders of magnitude stronger…
