Racing Hearts

A wise fool once said 'the heart wants what it wants'. Unfortunately, no one told me that sometimes, what the heart wants could be the only missing piece of a recipe for disaster. Maybe I wouldn't have listened; then we would have made it out unscathed. But there was no way to avoid it. I was in love with my principal. Heart, mind, body and soul. How do I say no to that? Azania Wyatt is an 18 year old high school senior, who has had everything at the drop of a hat. She is daddy's little girl and has some underlying issues from her childhood that she keeps dead and buried. Anthony Matthews is a 24 year-old married retired F1 race car driver, who has now taken up his legacy seat as the principal of Westerbridge Academy. Anthony also just so happens to be the brother of Azania's godfather. And he is seemingly the only person who can see beneath Azania's fake facade. What will happen when the two of them cross the line and fall in to each other's arms instead?

Chapter Fifty-One: Anthony Gets Some Introspection

My mood is dark when I pull up in my garage, and I unfortunately take it out on my car. How did I end up here? Alone in a huge house, a fucking high school principal with a wife who is showing signs of mental illness, a brother-in-law who is an actual nutjob and an 18-year-old who refuses to leave the center of it all. I only have 24 years to my name, but I feel like I am 50. I need a drink.

I saunter over to the bar, pleased to find none of the household staff lingering about. I pour myself a shot of Jameson and head out to the terrace, suddenly craving a dip in the pool. One person I did not expect to find by the lounge chairs, shirtless with a beer in his hand, is George. I haven't seen much of him since the incident. I try my best to stay out of his way. Not because I am giving him space, but because he looked about to pound my face in every time I saw him, and one beating from his daughter was enough for me.
