A Place that Promises a Lot

Steve Paxton was strong and brave, but he was only human. He could not be completely indifferent and unfazed when someone - no matter for what reason - harmed him, even though he was completely innocent.

"Steve, are you ...?" Martin asked and looked at the man sitting next to him. Paxton kept his eyes closed and smiled softly and calmly. His breathing was just as calm and deep, as if the man had fallen asleep.

Fell asleep? Really? Like halfway through the conversation? Maybe he was pretending? Maybe, but why would he do this? Was Steve more tired than he wanted to admit after all? Or maybe this trip really allowed him to relax and that's why he fell asleep halfway?
