One Night in Albania

A/N: Heyoo! Just want to say that this was a story I wrote a lot on last summer but only got around to editing recently. I am still writing my other Harry Potter Fanfic. My Naruto one though, is laid on a shelf until I properly read the manga all the way through. I realized I didn't know enough about that universe to write a story like that. I know the HP universe fairly well though, so this shouldn't be a problem here!

Anywayyyy, Let's get right into it! It'll start off with a sort of prologue with memories passing in front of his eyes.

I don't own HP btw..

Albania July 31st 1990

He had heard whispers of a wraith with an intense dark, pungent feeling to it, circling around these parts. He was absolutely certain that this was exactly what he was looking for. Lord Voldemort wasn't dead, of course he wasn't! Sure, all of Britain was certain that the boy-who-lived killed you-know-who, stupid hyphenated names, but he knew better.

So there he sat in a very dark and dingy pub. He wore a large ruby robe with lilac features. On his head he wore a black hat that really was as unstylish as possible as its only purpose was to cover up his rising hairline, and..he had lost his usual headwear. Under his cloak were a pair of tight, TIGHT, black silk trousers and a bronze coloured shirt that wasn't as tight. He wasn't as proud of his upper body as he was of his bum. He once got a compliment for his bum from a muggle woman after all. He had worn tight trousers ever since!

He was overall just a very skinny and unimpressive man and most didn't believe he was capable of truly spectacular things, but he'd prove them wrong! His best friend had made something of himself, sure that was through deceit and fraud but still, so why couldn't he? He was Quirinus Quirrell after all! His mother always said he was destined for greatness! Quirinus really didn't like the thought that she was disappointed with him since he ONLY ended up a teacher. He would defeat the dark lord once and for all, write a book about it, sell autographs, make figurines, make a publishing company and finally be able to make her proud. Queenie Quirrell would live out the rest of her days in luxury! All thanks to him of course.

And now he was in Albania, he was right on the heels of Lord Voldemort. The squib working as a bartender, told him all about the worrisome wraith lurking around and Quirrell was excited! He was told about a certain forest where most of the stories originated recently, and without a second thought he ran over there. How much harm could a wraith do to a powerful wizard like him, after all?

As soon as he got into the forest he recollected everything he knew about wraiths, which was quite a lot. He always had an affinity towards the theory. While he was mumbling to himself, about how they were similar to ghosts or poltergeists but since they aren't actually dead, they have a little bit of magic and actual consciousness so they could change their personality through the years, he saw it come right for him. Quirinus brought up his wand and readied his spell but before he could let it loose, the wraith was inside him.

He felt himself fall to the ground and then it was all dark for a moment. He heard a voice. It was a horrific voice really. He had never heard anything like it before. It sounded like what he would imagine a demented, crazed reaper would sound like. Of course it was Lord Voldemort himself. Quirrell was well aware of the fact that it was now a mental fight between the two about who would stay in control.

Somehow, Voldemort looked through his memories and struck just where it hurt. "I could make her dreams come true you know. With MY help, you can complete all of your goals. You just need my strength, smarts and power to pull it all off. You could make your mother proud and let her plant her squib arse on a comfortable sofa, with servants taking care of her every need for the rest of her life. All you have to do..is let me take control."

Quirinus was torn. On one hand, HE wanted to be the one to do all those things. HE wanted to make the House of Quirrell rise in pedigree. But on the other hand, it would be a LOT of work. Voldemort was a very powerful man. He could do everything he said with ease. Perhaps he could even get out of Voldemort's plans as soon as he delivered. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Voldemort clearly saw how easy this man was to convince and laid down a finishing punch. "Don't forget how little you've actually accomplished on your own. You haven't even impressed a SQUIB with your measly magic. All those classmates of yours were right when they proclaimed you as the weakest prefect of all time. They never thought you'd make anything of yourself and without me, you'll prove them right."

Quirinus took a deep breath, or at least the mental version of that, before he hung his head in resignation. Then he heard a vicious laugh and before he even realized that he effectively signed a deal with the devil, it felt like his spirit exited his body.

A/N: Just want to say that there is nothing wrong with being a teacher. I've tried it myself and it is extremely hard to pull off. I have deep respect for those who undertake that role in our society. Quirrell is just dealing with his own thoughts of inadequacy, his mother didn't even share them. It's all in his head, filled with delusions.

Feedback would be nice.
