FOOD & INTERRUPTION

As I stood there, looking like the young man I had targeted, a sense of satisfaction washed over me. The Mimic Quirk had worked flawlessly, granting me a perfect copy of his appearance, right down to his clothes and bag.

I checked the bag. Inside, there was a torchlight and two bottles of whiskey. I checked my pockets and found a wallet.

He had $1470 cash, a debit card, and a couple of old cards from old restaurants and some supermarket chain. He had the ID as well. *Laurance White* Which I don't care about much. I put the wallet in my pocket and made my way toward the city center. I am hungry as hell. I want to eat some pizzas and chicken wings and a big bottle of Coke.

Oh, just thinking about food is making my mouth water. Even though the food from the previous world was good, now that I remember everything, their Coke didn't taste like the ones from here.

I stopped for a moment thinking about the timeline. I was 21 when I was in the previous world, but here, only five years had passed since I died. It feels like ages and this is kinda weird. Anyway, time to find a 24 hrs food joint.

A few blocks later, I found a 24/7 Pizza joint. A huge sign is written 'HUNGRY? COME AND GET IT!!!' in huge yellow letters. It's good, but the smell that hit me is incredible, though. This is the place I used to visit once in a while with Sarah. She loved those choco lava cakes.

There are two employees. One looks like he's around his early 40s with a full black beard while the other guy looks like in his early 30s and very thin with messy long hair. Both were wearing yellow T-shirts.

I opened the glass door and a little bell chimed when I entered the establishment.

"Welcome." The two guys said in unison. The smell was just as strong as ever and the interior of the store looks so familiar, I remember them. It seems they are still working here. I smiled inwardly.

"Hey there. I would like to have one large Deluxe Feast with extra cheese and one large chicken Maximus, a big bottle of Cola, and one Choco lava cake." I said to the older employee, the one with the beard.

"That will be 40 dollars." the employee said with his best salesman's smile.

"Here you go," I gave him a 100$ bill and the employee gave me my change and went back to make my order. The thinner guy was the one manning the counter while the bearded employee went to make the food.

I took a seat at the corner of the shop and looked around. It was obviously empty due to the rain and cold, it was already 3:50 AM, but still, I can feel the same nostalgic feelings I used to have.

I can see that everything looks just as I remembered.

The atmosphere was comforting as if I had stepped back in time to when things were simpler, when Sarah was still with me.

The sound of sizzling pizza and the aromatic scent of melted cheese and spices filled the air. The employee behind the counter, the thin guy with long hair, glanced over at me with a curious expression. Well, can't blame him. A guy ordering pizza at midnight, just after a big rain storm... It must look weird. Oh, well...

As I waited for my order, my mind drifted back to Sarah. How she used to laugh when I ordered a bit too much food, and how she would always steal a slice of pizza from my plate despite claiming she wasn't hungry. I remembered our talks, our dreams, and our plans for the future.

But now, here I am, sitting alone in this familiar place, caught between two worlds.

"Here you go," the employee with the beard said, placing the large boxes of pizza and chicken wings on the table. "And your drink."

I looked up and smiled at him. "Thanks."

The employee nodded and went back behind the counter. I opened the pizza boxes, and the sight of the gooey, cheesy feast before me made my stomach growl even louder. I grabbed a slice of Deluxe Feast pizza, the cheese stretching as I lifted it. Taking a bite, I savored the familiar flavors that had once brought me so much comfort.

As I indulged in the delicious food, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. The taste brought back memories of laughter, happiness, and the warmth of being with Sarah. But it also reminded me of the responsibilities I now carried—the need to find a way to find that mysterious man with the wish cards and I have to face my family and Sarah again.

But I also need to find a balance between the life I had lost and the one I was now living. This dark city of Gotham... I am gonna clean it up while searching for that messenger. This world also has dangerous villains just like the previous world. I am gonna pluck them out one by one.

But for now, let's focus on the food.

Finishing the pizza, I wiped my hands on a napkin and took a sip from the bottle of cola. The cold liquid felt refreshing against my dry throat. This choco lava cake, I am gonna eat this slowly, enjoying every bite of it. But before that, I grabbed the bucket of chicken wings...

As I was about to take a bite, the bell above the door chimed again. Three masked men rushed inside with shotguns.

The warm and nostalgic atmosphere was instantly shattered by the tension that filled the air. The employee behind the counter froze in fear, his eyes widening at the sight of the intruders.

But as for me, something inside me snapped. This wasn't just another random event. This was an attack on the place that held memories of Sarah, memories that had just resurfaced for me.

A surge of anger and adrenaline coursed through my veins.

"Yo, empty the register!" said the one with a red hood.

"What?" said the employee with a trembling voice.

"Empty the register, NOW!" he said with an aggressive voice.

The bearded employee rushed to do what the masked man told him, his hands shaking with fear as he took the cash and handed it to the intruder.

"Wise choice," the one with a red hood said as he shoved the cash into a duffel bag.

The second masked intruder, the one in black with red shades, looked around. "What do we have here?" His eyes were on me.

The other one, the one in red shades pointed the shotgun in my direction and cocked the slide action with a menacing expression. "Empty the pockets," he commanded.

"Haaa... Don't you fuckers ever sleep? A fucking rainstorm just passed and you motherfucking sons of bitches decided it was a perfect night to rob a pizza joint and you came here like a bunch of fucking retards without even thinking that there might be someone eating there trying to get some peace, whom you shouldn't have messed with..."

I stood up and took a sip of Coke. Then continued...

"But of course, a bunch of no-good scums like you who always make things worse by doing stupid and idiotic actions with those retarded heads you are fucking using can't ever get it through those empty brains of yours, so you came and interrupted my peace with your fucking guns which I'll make sure to shove them in your fucking asses for coming here like you own this fucking place, so return the money and fuck off. I will give you 10 seconds..."

"And what are you gonna do in 10 seconds?" The one with the red hood asked.

"See, retards till the end. Didn't I just say I will take your guns away and shove them up your asses," I replied calmly.

I yawned.

"Hahahaha! This bitch got a big mouth. We are the Masked Goon Squad, bitch. I'll fucking shoot you for that shit. If you're lucky enough to survive the buckshot to your stupid face, we will torture you until you are nothing more than a crying and drooling mess, but that's only if we don't just fucking shoot you in the head instead, right now..." The guy with the bag of money pointed his gun at my face.

"9, 8, 7..."

"Good, keep counting. In less than 10 seconds, we are gonna blow off your fucking limbs and shove it up your ass... All three of our guns," The one with black and red shades threatened.

"4, 3..."

I saw a smile appear on his face when he heard I had reached 2... He's gonna shoot. I took a sip from my Cola and put it back.

"1..."

[Bang!] [Bang!] [Bang!] They took the shot.

**Passive Quirk: Heightened Agility**

Time seemed frozen before my eyes. The buckshot came like an endless stream. A wall of lead, like something from a bad dream or an old black and white western, except now it's happening for real. I felt as if I were looking at everything through a slow-motion camera.

I just dashed and appeared behind them. This speed is insane. It's like I am the Flash. Hahaha. In quick succession, I used my skill, *Summon*

[Imagine the weapon or armor you wish to summon]> System's voice echoed inside my head.

I imagined a flamethrower, with extra fuel capacity and extra heat intensity.

In front of me, a flamethrower and extra canisters appeared out of thin air. I quickly attached the canisters and aimed at them with my weapons.

"Yo, motherfuckers! You got something coming for your asses. Better say your last prayer, motherfuckers. Because, Hahahahahaha!!"

The fire stream that came out of the nozzle is crazy.

"Aaaaaa!!!!" Now set on fire, they dashed out on the street screaming and flailing. Their weapons are scattered all over the ground.

They ran and jumped into the puddle of water, trying to extinguish the flames. These bastards are lucky. There was a small construction site just beside the pizza joint. The rainwater has gathered in the big hole in the middle of the building site and made it into a very big pond of water.

"There is water. Jump," One of them screamed while running like hell to reach the construction site.

I put the flamethrower on the ground and took the bag of money and gave it to the cashier, "Here. And don't rat me out to the authorities, yeah?"

"Don't worry. Those bastards had it coming," The bearded guy replied, and his friend just nodded while watching the burning and screaming assholes running toward the construction site while burning like human torches.

I took a last sip of my Cola, "Can you pack up these chicken wings?" I asked while gesturing at the chicken wings I was supposed to eat before those sons of bitches showed up.

"Sure."

"You do that, I will be back in a sec," I picked up the three shotguns and dashed toward the construction site, "A man must keep his word. Time to shove them up their asses," I muttered under my breath as the rain came down.

The three robbers were jumping and splashing around the water like dolphins and sharks, the flames has already gone out, and the only thing left was a lot of smoke.

"Hello!" I said with a smirk.

"You... You lunatic..."

"ARRRGGGG!!!"
