The Young Miss of the Xu Family is a Little Strange (2)

Tian Meng, together with her squishy light ball that was invisible to others, made their way toward the front door, to greet her father who should be coming home with Qin Yu soon.

She was right on time as the butler opened the door, and a middle aged man stepped through, a sweet and pretty looking young girl following after him. Xu father had been handsome when he was young, and still looked pretty good now - just a little bit of a potbelly.

As for Qin Yu, her big eyes were curiously staring this way and that, looking at everything in awe. She had a fairly pretty appearance, in an innocent and fresh sort of way, her face bare of any makeup and her clothes a little bit plain.

Tian Meng fell into character, her gaze slightly curious as she looked at the girl but soon ignored her, coming up to her father with an expression that demanded to be pampered. "Daddy, you're finally back! I was waiting so long for you!" She said, and Xu father was immediately put into a good mood seeing his beloved daughter like this. He laughed heartily, his former dissatisfied expression completely disappearing.

Qin Yu blinked, overwhelmed by the beauty of this girl - she immediately felt ashamed and shrunk into herself, trying to make her presence as small as possible.

"Mingyue is a good girl. Here, a present." Xu father said, reaching into his briefcase to take out a small wrapped gift. "Open it later," he said. This guy, did he think that with just a little present, Xu Mingyue would be able to accept the emergence of a sudden new older sister?

Tian Meng's eyes flashed with cool indifference, but she soon put on a smile for Xu father to see, clearly very happy that he had gotten her a present. "Daddy loves me the best," she said, accepting the little box from her father and happily playing around with it.

The system who floated in the air nearby knew that actually her excitement over the present was not a lie. Tian Meng was a very materialistic person, and like a crow, couldn't help but be drawn toward shiny and beautiful things.

She would undoubtedly very much enjoy the gift that Xu father had picked for her, even if her opinion of the man was rather low.

"Where is your mother?" Xu father asked, a look of slight apprehension flickering across his face momentarily before he suppressed it.

"Here," an elegant voice spoke out before Tian Meng could reply. The eyes of everyone present turned toward the staircase, where a beautiful woman was walking down. Even after so many years, Xu mother was still very beautiful, obviously having taken meticulous care of her appearance.

Her black hair was tied in a bun, and she wore a golden silk kimono robe over her gray night gown.

Xu mother and father hugged each other as they kissed on the cheek. Xu mother curiously looked past Xu father at the young girl he had brought with her, and her loving gaze slightly dimmed. "Who is this?" She asked as she let Xu father go, clearly all the worst possible thoughts going through her head.

Qin Yu bore some resemblance toward Xu father, and Xu mother, who had a sharp eye, had discerned this with a single glance. She knew all of Xu father's family members, so from which thing had this girl popped out of?

Xu father cleared his throat, pushing the nervous Qin Yu forward. "Qin Yu, say hello." He said, and Qin Yu let out a soft hello.

Xu mother narrowed her brow, while Tian Meng looked between them all in confusion. She tugged at her mother's sleeve. "Mom, what's going on?" She asked, as she felt the sparks fly between Xu mother and father.

Xu mother placed a reassuring hand on her daughter's, feeling even more outraged. That girl didn't look much older than their own daughter. Did Xu father not at all think about their beloved Mingyue and how she would feel when she met this illegitimate girl who crawled out of who knows where?

"Darling, this is..." Xu father's mouth twisted wryly. Look, Xu mother was already so angry and he already hadn't even said anything. How was he supposed to coax her like this? "This is my daughter. But I can explain."

"Explain? Explain what? You said that you would only love me in this life and still dare to have a daughter with some other woman? Xu Gang, you, you!" Xu mother pointed a shaking finger at the man, so agitated that she coughed a mouthful of blood, clutching at her chest.

"Qing Qing!" Xu father was very agitated. Xu mother was a very strong person, since when had he ever seen such a thing happen to her?

Xu Mingyue appeared very distressed as well, tearing up as she clutched at her mother, who had promptly fainted away. "Dad, dad, what is wrong with mom? Is she going to be okay?"

Her anxious voice also made Xu father feel anxious inside. "Don't worry Mingyue, father will make sure that nothing bad happens to mom. Quick, help your mom into the car."

There was a whirlwind of activity as the butler and maids came over to help while Xu father called for the driver.

Qin Yu stood to the side, looking lost, having been forgotten in the chaos.

Tian Meng did not forget, but why should she say anything?

In the end, the house fell quiet as the Xu family quickly rushed to the hospital. Qin Yu stood there slightly dumbfounded, but also felt that she couldn't continue like this. She cautiously approached the head butler, who was talking in a quiet voice with a maid. "U-um, I'm sorry, but is there a place where I can put my stuff?" Qin Yu asked.

The butler looked at her with a slightly cool gaze, still professional but clearly not holding any love toward her. Just walked through the door and already look at the mess that she had made. But the master had clear intents in taking her in, so he could only lament for the madame and young miss. He didn't make any troubles, guiding her to an empty room that she could stay in.

Qin Yu let out a sigh of relief, glad that although the butler seemed a little bit cold, he was still polite. Looking around at the room, even though it had just been an empty guest room, it was still more luxurious than anything she had ever lived in. It was almost as big as the apartment she had shared with her mother alone!

Something flashed through her eyes, which she quickly buried.

It could be said that such a beautiful lifestyle, it really was tempting to outsiders wasn't it? Those who had obtained a taste, would be hard pressed to let it go...

Meanwhile at the hospital, Xu mother had been admitted to a VIP room and Tian Meng was silently crying, looking at her father sadly. Such a beautiful daughter with a face full of tears, Xu father naturally felt extremely distressed.

"Daddy, do you really have to bring that girl into the family? Look, mother is already like this. The doctor diagnosed that she is confined to bed rest due to severe stress!" Tian Meng let a couple of soft sobs escape her mouth, just for extra effect.

Xu father looked very guilty, comforting his daughter. "Mingyue, don't worry, I only love your mother and you. But, after all, even though the girl's mother tricked me, the child is blameless, right? She is still your half-sister, for my sake will you promise to treat her well?"

Tian Meng's lips thinned into a straight line, very unwilling. "Is it not possible to just give her some money and send her away to a good boarding school? That way mother won't see her and be stressed out. It can also be said that father has done what he can."

Xu father thought a little and felt this was very reasonable. After all, looking at Xu mother and her pale face as she lay weakly on the bed was really making his heart feel anxious. Qin Yu's presence was clearly also making his beloved daughter here feel very distressed, so maybe it was better for all of them if they sent Qin Yu to a good boarding school, letting them not see her.

Even so, for Qin Yu who had grown up without a father, Xu father thought that this might be a little bit harsh after all?

But after a few more soft and gentle words from his daughter, he decided that this was the best course of action. Anyways, to him, Qin Yu was not as precious as Xu Mingyue. One was an undesired daughter that had popped out of nowhere, while the other was the pearl in the palm of his hand, loved dearly from a young age.

After Xu father left to go get some things for Xu mother and Xu Mingyue, Tian Meng let the warm expression drop from her face. The floating system came closer, and Tian Meng grabbed him, squish squish squishing him a few times while looking like she was thinking about something.

The system was quiet. As for this whole boarding school, the system and Tian Meng both knew which boarding school that Tian Meng wanted Qin Yu to go to. If she could enter, then good, but if not then there was no problems either.

After all, Qin Yu would definitely not go to the boarding school so easily without putting up a fight.

Tian Meng sensed something shifting beside her and immediately threw the system to the side, putting on a concerned expression as she grabbed Xu mother's hand. "Mom, are you alright?" She asked, her eyes immediately filling up with restrained tears.

Xu mother held Tian Meng's hand, her eyes also tearing up seeing her beloved daughter like this. "Mingyue, you can't let your father let that girl into the house. An illegitimate child, what would I do if she bullies you?"

The one who was being bullied was Qin Yu though, Tian Meng silently thought, but her face was still overflowing with concern. "Mom, don't worry, I asked dad to send that girl to a boarding school so we won't have to see her. Although dad is set on taking her in, after all, she is just some unwanted thing. He can throw some money to her and satisfy his desire for charity and that will be that."

Xu mother felt her daughter was very smart, but was also so sad. Since when had her daughter have to make such mature decisions? It was because this mother of hers wasn't strong enough that her daughter had to take action like this, driving the girl out of the house for her sake. Xu mother smoothed Tian Meng's slightly disheveled hair, lip trembling slightly. "Good, Mingyue is a good girl. Don't worry, mother will recover soon. Then we'll see if that thing has the guts to weasel herself into our family."

Tian Meng said a few more comforting words before letting the tired Xu mother go back to sleep.

When Xu father came back, he had brought a change of clothes for himself, clearly planning on staying the night. As for Tian Meng, although she also insisted on doing so, Xu father rejected her, saying that such a thing was not good for her body.

Tian Meng unwillingly obliged, but before leaving, she went downstairs to browse the flower shop, wanting to buy flowers for Xu mother.

Just as she was purchasing a vase of pale pink and white peonies, which were both Mingyue and her mother's favorite flower, a deep voice spoke from behind her. "If it isn't the youngest daughter of the Xu family? What are you doing here?" It spoke with slight concern, and Tian Meng couldn't help but freeze. She took the bouquet from the shop keeper's hands before slowly turning around, seeing the male lead of the story, Yan Mo, standing behind her.

His secretary was holding a bouquet of white roses while speaking quietly on his bluetooth headset, and Yan Mo was standing there dignified in his steel gray suit, one hand casually tucked into his pant pocket.

"If it isn't young master Yan! I never thought I would see you here," Tian Meng said in slightly surprise, giving a polite greeting to Yan Mo. The second half of her sentence was not just directed to Yan Mo, but also to the system that floated beside her.

The system knew what she was asking, and quickly scanned through the information that was available to him. "It looks like Yan Mo's grandfather was hospitalized here, which explains his appearance." The system said, and Tian Meng looked down, quickly hiding the flash of dissatisfaction that went through her eyes.

She hadn't wanted to meet the male lead just yet, but she could only improvise.

The male lead and Xu Mingyue both knew each other as acquaintances. After all, as someone who loved music, the male lead was very familiar with the Xu family, and as a young talent, Xu Mingyue had also entered his eyes.

But Xu Mingyue already had a very good family, so she did need something like sponsoring.

Even so, Yan Mo had still made the offer to Xu Mingyue before, which the girl had politely rejected.

"My mother was hospitalized, so I'm here buying flowers for her before leaving." Her cool smile twisted slightly in a wry manner. "I actually wanted to stay overnight, but father insisted I go back home, since it would be bad for my body."

Tian Meng allowed her expression to go slightly dark, but quickly erased it, putting on a cool and polite face. Yan Mo's sharp eyes obviously caught this but didn't say anything, only thinking that she was upset that her mother was hospitalized. "What a pity. Wei Qing's violin playing is definitely one of the best in C Country. I hope that she will recover before her concert in the winter," He said lamenting. After a moment, he thought this was a little bit insensitive, so changed the topic.

Tian Meng didn't find offense - this guy's head was truly filled with music. If Xu mother hadn't been a musician, he certainly would not have been concerned at all.

"You are attending the new talent competition in Zurich in the next few months, yes?" Yan Mo inquired, and Tian Meng shook her head.

"I can already be considered somewhat of a senior, wouldn't it be bullying the others if I attended?" She said, and Yan Mo paused before nodding in agreement.

After all, Xu Mingyue couldn't really be considered a "new talent" - she had already been attending concerts and competitions since she was at the young age of ten. With her experience, it really wouldn't be appropriate for her to attend a new talent competition.

But although Xu Mingyue wouldn't be attending, Tian Meng knew that Qin Yu would be. It would be at this competition that she would draw Yan Mo's attention.

Tian Meng made some polite inquiries as to why Yan Mo was here, but he was vague and Tian Meng also didn't push.

The two of them politely spoke a few more words before Yan Mo promised to send some flowers to Xu Mingyue's mother and the two said they would see each other later at Xu mother's concert.

Tian Meng knew that Xu mother would not be recovered by then, but there was no harm in saying such words.

The two parted, and Tian Meng returned to Xu mother's hospital room to deliver the flowers she bought. "I met young master Yan downstairs," she commented, as she placed the vase of flowers by Xu mother's bedside.

"Yan young master?" Xu father was a little surprised, looking up from his papers.

Tian Meng nodded. "He was a little vague about why he was here, but he sent mother his well wishes. He hopes she'll recover in time for her concert," She said, and Xu father nodded. As expected of Yan young master, he was really concerned for Xu mother...'s ability to continue making music.

Tian Meng didn't say much more and was soon sent back home by Xu father, not wanting her to stay up too late.

In the car, Tian Meng rolled Little White in her hand on the car seat, the system letting her do as she desired. She often did this when she was impatient or thinking. Although Tian Meng hadn't expected to meet Yan Mo so early, this was okay too.

After all, she had discovered that in some worlds, the string of fate between the male and female leads was not actually that strong. If she did something too drastic, then she could completely destroy the balance of the world. After all, although her goal was to be a splendid villain, in the end, the villain needed to be defeated for a happy story.

As a result, Tian Meng needed to take care so that things wouldn't get out of hand. She needed to engineer things so that no matter what actions she took, the male and female leads would still get together, achieving their brilliant destiny and defeating the villain in the end.

Tian Meng sighed. When she was young, she had not understood all these little details that needed to be considered in becoming a villain and had only acted according to the system's script. It was now that she was older that the system had allowed her to start improvising. She had made a lot of mistakes before, but she was slowly getting the hang of things.

Who would have known that villains would need to have such thought in all their actions? It was truly a complex and difficult role, very suitable for herself!

Tian Meng's expression became slightly arrogant and prideful as she inwardly smirked.

Finished this a while back and wanted to wait until I had stocked up some more chapters before releasing, but since my keyboard is having some issues that is slowing down my writing I decided to just release this chapter.
