I’m The Protagonist?! 7.2

Feng Shi was astounded to see the three-floored library with an open area at the center filled to the brim with rows upon rows of books.

The academy truly deserved being reputed as one of the best academic institutions and is famed for its collection of books.

"I've forgotten that you never entered the library before." Cheng Xiu chuckled at her expression as the previous host used to prefer researching through the Internet or simply asking this walking encyclopedia beside her.

"They weren't actually exaggerating when they said that this place was huge" She commented taking in the sight before her in astonishment.

Come to think of it, this is her first time in a library too, well the first that she can remember anyway.

The shelves were carved exquisitely from a firm three with a reddish hue, from which exactly, she does not know.

The chairs scattered at the center were also made with wood matching the carvings on the shelves while the walls were painted white with golden patterns of flowers. On the second and third floor's right wing was a slanted wall-to-ceiling mirror overlooking the eastern woods of the academy where the Royal University can be found on the other side.

As Feng Shi looked around, Cheng Xiu slowly guided her towards the corner where what he deemed as his area could be located.

It was at the far right corner on the third floor where only a few are allowed.

The area was surrounded by a small canopy of plants so it was a little bit hidden from others.

This has been his zone studying corner since he entered the academy and Feng Shi is the first to ever join him since none of his friends are exactly studious.

He pulled the chair for Feng Shi before he leaned on the table, arms supporting most of his weight tilting his head slightly to gaze at her.

"So, have you chosen which coding language you want to learn?" He asked after Feng Shi was done looking around.

"Ah?" Feng Shi was startled before remembering why their there.

"Right, sorry. Any suggestions?" Feng Shi asked as she remembered Xiao Wang's suggestion and information that this world contains 700+ coding languages.

"Python and Java would be my recommendation as it is the easiest ones to learn for beginners" Cheng Xiu thoughtfully replied which was actually the same as Xiao Wang's suggestion.

"Then I'll start with either of those two" She replied her eyes shining in anticipation.

Cheng Xiu was a little bit flustered being stared at by those brilliant eyes. Unable to keep looking at her blooming face and heated gaze, Cheng Xiu looked away immediately.

A mischievous grin flashed on Feng Shi's face as her eyes narrowed when she noticed his reaction.

It seems that despite living a different life, her lover is still the same as ever. His weakness is her.

"Cough" Cheng Xiu cleared his throat before straightening his posture.

"I know where the books are. You wait here while I'll go get it" He excused himself before rushing away excited at the prospect of spending more time with her and studying one of the subjects that he enjoys learning the most.

Seeing his fleeting form, Feng Shi no longer smothered her amusement and laughter. "Haha, how adorable. My foolish love" she chuckled to herself before looking out the glass wall and admiring the luscious green leaves dancing amidst the breeze.

She would never fail to appreciate the beauty of nature and how it’s full of vitality and wonder.

It did not take long before Cheng Xiu came back and Feng Shi couldn't help but gape at the number of books that he carried with him.

Her lips twitch as he put the heavy books down on the table with a loud bang.

With a raised brow, she looked at the books that he was organizing before looking at his face with a look of deep concentration.

She was about to ask if he plans to stay here till morning when he smiled at her proudly. Beaming with pride, like a small pup wanting to be praised.

With a twitch on her lips, she swallowed her sarcastic comments and simply smiled at him as well.

"So, take the stage teacher Xiu" She teased settling into a comfortable position while Cheng Xiu rolled his eyes playfully and settled next to her.

"So first will start with Python since it can be regarded as the future of programming languages. Did you know that it is the main coding language for around 80% of developers? Though Java is the faster language to learn, Python is simpler and easier to learn. Each is well-established, platform-independent, and part of a large, supportive community" Cheng Xiu patiently explained and helped her memorize the language and its structures.

He was immersed in sharing the gateway to his passion with the girl he loves making his whole being seem to glow slightly. His youthful face was relaxed and his gentle expression was quite something else.

Feng Shi's expression once again softens before looking back to the book trying to focus once again.

However, as Feng Shi looked away and began reading the book in earnest, Cheng Xiu looked to his side and was enchanted as the light from the window seems to be reflected by Feng Shi giving her a halo of light.

Feeling his gaze, Feng Shi glanced at him from the corner of her eyes. Black eyes seemingly full of twinkling stars with the mystery of the universe met blue enchanting ocean eyes vast with knowledge and warmth.

They gazed at each other, lost in the other's eyes. As they seem to gravitate with each other, they leaned closer and closer before Cheng Xiu realized how close they were and looked away first unable to close the distance between them.

He wished to turn back time and lean closer, for their lips to meet but he respects Feng Shi far too much to take advantage of her momentary fascination.

"Sorry" He mumbled before trying to get back on their studying.

"It's alright, our distance can't be helped" Feng Shi replied portraying the previous host's oblivious persona perfectly.

'Neither would I have minded, you oblivious fool' she thought to herself with a helpless sigh.

After that brief moment, they went back to learning as if nothing had happened but in truth, Cheng Xiu's mind could not help going back to that moment where they almost shared an intimate moment but were hesitant to act upon his impulse.
