7 Chapter 6

The sound of the curtain being pulled apart is the first thing she heard ,The brightness of the sun slipped past through window glass easily without the restraints of the crimson curtains.

She has to squeeze her eyes shut for a second to get used with the blinding brightness, as always ,Cami stood near her bedside ready to attend her as soon as she steps out from under her warm and cosy blanket.

She takes a look at the sun that was irritatingly staring down back at her. In her past life, looking at the sun outside, the time isn't even late. In fact, it's still too early for her. But with Cami keeping nudging her shoulders it was starting to get annoying.

She groans as she fell back on her pillow.

" My lady, please wake up. The sun is already high in the sky. It's not healthy for you to sleep in any longer"

Cami had no choice but to be a little bit forceful.

"Fine..fine I wake up " she sit up from her bed lazily

After the usual routine of dressing up with all of her maids doing the job, she sits at a small round table near the balcony. Cami began to serve her breakfast as she sits doing nothing.

" Cami is he really that busy that he doesn't even have time to eat breakfast ?"

Came stop her movements

" My lady you mean the Duke ? " She froze on her place

" Who else do you think I am talking about other than brother " She raise her fork and began to eat

" Actually the Duke have a habit of skipping breakfast but these days he used to dine with you and rarely skip breakfast "

" Do you know where he is going ? " she ask curiously

" No..all I know is that he went out early in the morning " Cami push her lips and answer

Yere raise her head and see that Cami look at her...strangely

' Oops did I get too out of Yerenica's character '

She is a little nervous

" Why are you looking at me like that ?"

" I am sorry my lady for my rudeness...it just that you never ask the Duke's whereabouts" Cami bow her head

Cough cough " After all he is my brother and I cant ignore him forever "

" Its nice you see you get along with him my lady but..don't...um...nothing " Cami hesitate

Yere just raise her eyebrow when she heard her hesitate tone

"Umm... My lady, don't you think the weather is fine today? How about you have a walk in the garden ?

I'm sure the you will like some fresh air" Cami suggest

"Alright! Let's go have a walk outside then"

Yere pumped up from her seat

The weather was bright and sunny but there was still a gentle wind blowing in the air. Cami has to make sure that she is warm and cosy before heading out

Walking around the garden brings pleasure to her senses. The sweet fragrance of Jasmine and faint fragrance of roses fill her nostril. She decided to spend an hour doing almost nothing, enjoying the best of what nature could bring.

Then there was a bumble bee that suddenly came by her side. There was a kind of music as the bee flapped its wing, music so perfect that no one could ever sing.

Walking little further, she spotted a butterfly

which was hovering over the flowers and then soaring high. She admire the beautiful butterfly for a long time.

My evening hour in the garden was very well spend. She walk around for a long time and her feet is a little sore

"My lady, there's a resting place by the lake. It's not far from here"

Cami step forward when she notices that her lady needed some rest

Yere were enjoying the cold breeze in the gazebo by the lake. Cami stood with her back straight behind the her . She had bought an extra cotton blanket and a hand warmer for her so she could enjoy the view without having to suffer the cold breeze

Yere complain to the system that Cami is too overprotective of her

System - Its because Yerenica have a weaker body than a normal person

Yere chuckle

' No wonder she easily get tired '

The sounds of footsteps came approaching them destroying the quiet atmosphere. Cami snapped her head towards the direction of the footsteps standing on guard

The intruder was a servant with short blonde, he directly kneel down and bow his head to her

" This servant want to thank the lady for saving this one lowly life " he say sincerely

" Inpudent...how dare a mare servant stand in from of her lady " Cami step forward

Yere recognise him

' Isn't he the man, who she save last night '

Yere just try to dismissed him but suddenly remember something

" Cami please leave us " she wave her hand

" But my lady.." Cami hesitate

" Cami please only a few minutes " she look at her with a pleasing eyes

" Call me if you need me " she give a warning glare to the servant and leave

Yere laugh

Of course she know why Cami is worried,

Unmarried maiden staying alone with a man, a servant at that

If this goes out..her reputation will be damage

System - What are you going to do ?

' A method to let the villlain's guard down '

" Can you still remember where you throw the painting ? " she directly ask him

The servant feel a little strange that the lady also know about the painting

" Yes my lady but it will be very hard to find it" he feel realy guilty

" Search for the painting and give it to me " she ordered

" B..but my lady i teared the painting " he shiver

Yere touch her head in distress

" Then search every piece of that painting and give it to me "

" B..but...but..but " his eyes is wide open

" No but...end of discussion...after you all find every piece of that painting send it to my room " Cami support her to stand up and leave the garden

System - Pitiful man

" Cami, Is something happened ?

You look absent-minded all day" Martha an old women from a kitchen asked her

" I am okay Aunt Martha " Cami shrugged her shoulder uncomfortably

Martha is the most senior servant at the Duke Mansion. She used to be the nanny of Duke Mike...Alfred's father.

After Duke Mike died she transferred to the kitchen.

Without even working she can have a good life but she insist on continue working on the the Duke mansion.

" Come on, Cami let it out Cami...you know you can tell me " She pad her back giving comfort

Cami sigh

" Lady Yere is acting weird recently, I know that she used to be mischievous and playful when she was child but as time goes by she change herself and become quite, timid and sensitive before but now she is..she.."

" She is lively, bold, reckless...just as before is that what you mean ?" Martha cut in

" Yes that what I mean she act strange..its not like her at all and I am scared that..."

" Scared what ?" Martha raise her eyebrow

" I am scared that she will attract too much attention "

" Whose attention ?" Martha narrow her eyes

" You know who I am talking about " Cami give her a meaningful look

" Cami just goes along the flow..keep that to the fate. They don't even know the truth...what are you soo afraid of ?"

Martha comfort her

Cami sigh

" I am afraid because I can see that he started get attracted to her " Cami bit her lips nervously

" What do you mean ?" Martha frowned

" This morning before the Duke went out he remind me not to wake up lady Yere too early" Cami anxiously look at her

" The Duke said that ?" Martha eyes widened

" Yes..this never happen before and even lady Yere started caring about her brother..

I am happy that both of them get along but..I have a feeling that this will not work out..

I prefer when both of them ignore each other"

Martha shook her head helplessly

" We can't do anything if they are fated to be these way...so..don't worry to much.

Where is lady Yere ?

Is she attending Miss Cara's etiquette class ? " Martha asked her

" Miss Cara came but lady Yere made excuse and let her return..now she is staying at her room only God know what she is doing " Cami felt really helpless

" I wonder what made her change so much " Martha mutter

" Oh my god...that was exhausting " Yere message her sore hand. She raised from the chair and touch her sore waist.

System - So this is a gift for him ?

" It cant be called a gift it's his at the first place, just repair and give it back to him"

" But I wonder why he keep it hidden when he like it a lot. That servant said that he found it on the bookshelf...if he like it a lot why not put it up to where he can see everyday" she wisper to herself

Yere take a closer look at the painting,

the painting looks really old but it can see that it is very well taken care by someone.

Although it did not look exactly like before its still lookable

The painting is a little hazy as it loose its colour

There is two figure a boy and a girl sit under the moon and stars

The stars are shining brightly like a diamonds, and the moon is really bright and circle it seems that is the night of full moon

The moon light shine on the beautiful yet childish face of the little boy's stone face, he wore a shabby clothes, his dress is too dirty that it cant exactly say what colour it is. But a bright red stain can be seen clearly at his abdomen part, his little hand cover half of the red colour as if to hide something from someone. half of his face is expose and the other half remain in the dark, he look at the little girl who sit next to him.

The painting only shows the back figure of a girl and it seems that the painter isn't too sure about the girl appearance, the painter did not give hair colour to the little girl, she wore a yellow dress, she point at the star as if seems telling something to the boy.

The atmosphere look really harmonise and peaceful

"The little boy have black hair and cold stone face without doubt he is mini Alfred.

But who is the little girl next to him ? "

The little girl wore luxurious yellow dress clearly a young miss from a big household

She look at the little girl figure more closer

" Isn't this the female lead when she was child ?" She surprise at her own words

" Oh my god " She cover her mouth in disbelieve

System - What ?

" In the novel Alfred fall in love with the female lead at first sight right ? "

System - Yeah

" Alfred do fall in love with her at first sight but not at my 18 birthday party "

System - Wait..I dont understand

" Yerenica 18 birthday party in not the first time the villain met the female lead "

Yere look down and point at the painting

" Its here "

System - I see you still have brain

Yere ignore the system

" Everything's clear now...from the very begining I cant believe that the villain fall in love with the female lead just because of her beauty. Love at first sight is too clingy for the villain"

System - Why did the villain didn't go after the female lead after he see her, why wait for a long time

" There are three reasons

One, although the villain look cold outside he secretly have a pure heart and wait for the female lead to came to an age and marry her"

System - Pure heart ? She herself wont belief her word

" Secondly, looking at his clothes it seems that Alfred is still kipnapped and he doesn't know his real identity. When he see that he and her status gap is too big...he try to forget her and only have this painting to remember her...and "

System - Cut..cut please don't say your wild imagination anymore...

"Thirdly, he...." The system cut her word

System - firstly, the villain have a terrible possessive character and wont let go of the things that caught his interest, he has no pure heart and secondly, does he look like a person to look down on himself...he is a person who know his self worth remember ?

He is like ' if i cant have her then no one can have it'

" But the third one is the most interesting one " she protest

Systems - I don't wanna know

"Thirdly, he is too young to remember her appearence clearly and that painting is the only thing that make him remember her.

He search for her but cant find it, at Yerenica's 18 birthday..the female lead unexpectedly attend and he saw her and remember her "

System - Ok from all the three reasons lets go with the third one..it is the most reasonable

Yere look at the painting one more time, her gaze fell on the little boy

His face show an expression that a child his age would never show.

He look like a person who know how cruel this world is , a person who go through many things. His cold expression say that the world did something wrong to him.

A person who didn't have a reason to live, a person who....who despite the world

' Only one painting but say many things ' she thought
