Blood dripped slowly from the tip of Xi Ming's sword.
"How dare you disobey Jin-er?" he said coldly and then turned to Ye Jin with a smile. "Go ahead, Jin-er, check them out."
The other nobles in the room screamed in terror, and the guards immediately raised their weapons, ready to attack. Xi Ming tilted his head, his eyes sparkling with cold amusement, as if he were looking at mere ants.
"My lovely Jin-er just wants to check the other slaves," he said, his voice soft. "Unless you wish to gamble with your lives, I'd advise you to stand down."
The air became chillingly cold. The guards' hands trembled in fear. The head of the guards looked at Xi Ming. He was a dangerous man, and they could not afford to offend him easily. He motioned to one of the guards.
"Go and call the head," he ordered, his voice a bit shaky.
