World 1: Chapter 1

Xiu Baiye is woken up by a dull pain on his forehead.

The system that he had spoken with earlier was continuously ramming himself into his head.

Reaching a hand out, he grasps the creature's tail, yanking him away from his face. "You can stop now. It hurts."

While Anakas was in the man's grip, he thrashed around while rapidly changing colours, before tugging himself free and smacking his host's face one last time. [My apologies. My tail slipped.] By the time he finished rebooting and returning to its original colour, Xiu Baiye had laid back down.

"…fine." He reluctantly sat up again, and a moment later a holographic screen appeared in front of him, filled with information.

When Xiu Baiye touched the screen, it sank where his finger was and felt like sandpaper.

Stuffing Anakas into the blankets, Xiu Baiye quickly gets out of bed and puts on a thin robe. "…Zhicheng? Is that you?"

Xi Zhicheng, from what he had learned earlier, was his personal maid who was in charge of his everyday activities.

"Yes. May I come in?"

"Go ahead." Forgetting that the fish creature was still under his blankets, he let the maid in. Fortunately, she didn't notice the slightly trembling duvet. "Why did you wake me up so early?" From what he had seen in the information he was given, he was normally allowed to sleep in.

Xi Zhicheng features formed a puzzled look.
