Death

I had a wonderful life. A peaceful one. I had a life that was worth living. At least in some sense. Even though not everything was rainbows and unicorns and there were times when I wanted to give up, I am glad I didn't. I am satisfied with the life that I lived. Now that death has finally come, I can welcome it with open arms. I can take my last breath with the thought in mind that I had a good life. Not the best one but a good and peaceful one.

Beep…...Beep.....Beep...…

The line went still. The life supports were taken off. The now cold body was sealed and soon buried. The grave was made beside the one she most loved. Even in death she wanted to accompany her mother. The one person who stayed at her best and her worst. The only person who made sure that she was ok and the only person who genuinely cared for her. But even she didn't know her well enough. And now that it had come to this, let her repent for all her doings with her death.

With one last breeze and a rainstorm she was gone forever and soon after the world forgot her real name. She wasn't sad about that. There was no one who knew her real name since her mother died anyways. But she did like to see the faces of the people she once terrorized filled with fear as the news of destruction spread like wildfire.

Let the world burn in flames, she thought. It deserves it anyway.

In a black space with no light a person was floating around. In this still silence the sound of her breathing was really loud. The paleness of her skin was enough for one to think that she was dead. Her body, transparent.The thing that was most bizzare was her hair. It was half blond and half silver and yes it was natural. Even in a place where intelligent beings from all over the entire universe came and went, this soul was one of a kind.

Soon the silence was filled with sound and the darkness was filled with light from a glowing ball. The person opened her eyes when the brightness hit her. When her eyelids opened what welcomed the world of darkness was two eyes with completely different colours. The one on the right side was the color of the deepest ocean and the one on the left was the colour of the thickest of blood. One filled with kindness and mercy and the other with madness and ruthlessness.

But soon the emotions were cleared and what was felt was nothing but indifference and uninterest towards all else. She looked around and her eyes landed on the glowing ball of light. As soon as her eyes landed on the ball it started talking in a voice that was robotic but once heard all could tell had its own intelligence.

" I, the administration system, welcome soul 3727367132 to the system space. I am responsible for taking care of special souls like yourself and you are brought here for an inspection." Having done what it was paid for, the self called system started scanning the soul.

Luna instead of complaining and bombarding the talking object with questions like a sane person stayed calm and let it do whatever it wanted.

After the system was done scanning what laid before her eyes was a chart board that was half black and half white. The hologram flicked after she was done looking at it and disappeared.

The system shook once and blinked it's lights. It soon said after, "Soul 3727367132

your karma is 50-50 which means you have a chance of entering the higher realms as long as you can drag down the 50% black karma. You have two options for doing so. Both options are unfortunately a gamble. The first is you getting reborn and living a life doing good things so that you can get more white karma and second is you getting assigned a system to work with. You will get assigned to a system you are most compatible with and will travel between worlds doing missions for the God system.

Unfortunately the only system that is compatible with you according to my database is a failed system. What would you like to do now? You can also decline and you will be sent back to the reincarnation cycle of your world. " After it was done talking it stayed quiet and waited to be interrogated by the soul like they always do.

Luna slowly digested all the words that the system said. The best she could understand was that she was dead and had a chance to go to higher realms. The system and reincarnation thing also. She had read enough novels to know what all of this meant or at the very least had an idea of it. Instead of going through all of the different stages she just skipped to acceptance and asked the real questions.

" What system am I the most compatible with?" Asked Luna.

" You are most compatible with the Fate signal system. It's job is still not assigned as it was a failed system and is fitted nowhere in the God system. It's a failed experiment. It was originally made to be a new superior class of system. One that had the potential to help the first class hosts and higher realm being but a mistake happened and its functions went haywire. Now it doesn't even have its own intelligence though this is not confirmed as it was stored away as soon as the experiment failed. " Answered the system.

Luna thought for a while and then asked,

" Do you have any idea on what job it will be assigned after it's assigned to me?"

" Well, according to my understanding, the most possible job it can be assigned is for you to travel between worlds and live the lives of people who regret their wrong life choices. After all, it is the most common of jobs in the God system and the one that can help you get the most white karma. " The system answered.

" You said that the system was a failed experiment so will there be any side effects of being assigned to it?" Asked Luna straight away.

" Well I have no answer to that question. Like I said, it was put away as soon as it was deemed failed. There were no further tests done to see if there will be any side effects of being assigned to it." Answered the system with a sigh.

Luna stayed silent for a while.

After some time the system started feeling inpatient so it asked.

" So what's your final choice?"

After a bit for thinking Luna answered,

" I want to be assigned to a system."

The system who was already working through the procedures to send Luna to be reborn was taken aback. If it had eyes it would have blinked like a fool right now.

" Excuse me?" He asked to make sure.

" I want to be assigned to a system." Luna answered with a straight face.

" Are you sure about your choice? You do realize that the system can potentially kill you, right?" The system sighed.

" I am perfectly aware of the dangers.-"

" And you still want to be assigned to a system!?" The system almost shouted.

" That is correct." Answered Luna calmly.

The two stared at each other. The tension in the atmosphere was so thick that one could cut it with a knife. The administration system would without a doubt have rubbed it's nose if it had a pair of arms and a nose from the imaginary pain it was feeling thinking about all the paper it would have to write when this foolish and stubborn soul died. Yes, it already thought of Luna as a dead person.

But what can it do other than accepting the request? It wasn't paid enough to warn every soul that did stupid things like this more than it already had. So without a word it started the procedure to assign the failed system to this stubborn and foolish host.
