Unresponsive Crowd

Roars were soon quelled and the shuddering leaves grew quieter. The entirety of the King's Lair fell into an unprecedented silence as Di Tian felt multiple familiar and foreign presence reaching right where the giant ball of tentacles floated menacingly.

Well, foreign was a relatively subjective tone since Di Tian was aware of all these beasts, however, not on a personal basis. Still, his face betrayed no emotion and his deep golden eyes revealed an eerie calm. He waited directly underneath the giant ball of flesh.

The first to arrive was Zi Ji. Her expression was utterly terrible and the look of grave concern flashed by her eyes. Yet silently, she stood behind Di Tian's back and calmed her nerves. Next to arrive was the fearsome Duskgold Dreadclaw Bear whose body size grew smaller to accommodate based on the surroundings but the beast didn't adopt a human form due to his preference. Still, the manipulation of size only came in the form of turning a tinge bit smaller or reverting to his original size, unlike the Death Spider Emperor who had more flexibility in this regard.

More and more beasts appeared. A pitch-black tree with dreadful crimson leaves...

A baleful, three-headed flame-eyed mastiff who growled at the sky.

A Mighty Lion with yellowish fur and crimson mane...

A three-clawed...

One by one, every 100000-year-old beast that is considered a treasure that even a Titled Douluo would envy over began to collect around Di Tian, solidifying his unwritten role as the King of the Forest.

A total of 17 100000-year-old beasts!

The sight of it made from the distance made Ja Sun shiver in delight!

But he knew there were more to come. Not to mention the fact that the sight of the Golden-eyed dark-haired man made Ja Sun recall the individual who met with the Death Spider Emperor in her memories and gifted her the technique that allowed her to move her soul origin. Still... what he couldn't understand was why did the beasts surround 'him?'

'According to the memories, this dude claimed himself as the servant of the king... did the og king die? Still... just what is this species?' Even he couldn't recognize the 'king's' species but he instantly recognized Zi Ji as the abyss demon dragon who pursued him alongside Bi Ji.

Under Ja Sun's expectant sight that he no longer kept hidden for obvious reasons, a couple emerged into the clearing from the forested region.

His breathing sped up only for a second as he saw the brazen man's enticing... cultivation.

Of all Ja Sun sensed, only the blue-haired man looking valiant in that purple battle armor matched the requirements of what Ja Sun desired at this point. Even the seemingly King of the Beasts and the giant orb of flesh in the sky that had space itself fluctuating around it due to the sheer divine intent didn't match this particular man when it came to cultivation. Their battle power, on the other hand, could be argued. Fresh out of butchering a million-year-old spirit beast, Ja Sun wasn't quick to put them up on an unjust pedestal.

Unlike the terrifying entity surrounded by hordes of beasts, Ja Sun could glean out the identities of the newcomers at a glance.

"Deep Sea Demonic Whale... probably a monarch of its species..." Ja Sun assessed and looked at the peerless and seductive woman next to him with an urge to groan. Everyone had to be hot in this world, right? Even freaking whales!

But he could sense another attribute in the woman. A mutated species with a hint of the evil attribute, this certainly pleased Ja Sun.

Meanwhile, the ball of tentacles, in reality, defended a giant eye within that was capable of shifting its colors and was known as Evileye Tyrant. Again, a monarch of its species, most likely. However, unlike its name, the Evileye Tyrant was dipped in almost all the attributes but the evil attribute itself.

Similar to the other beasts, the couple stood quietly. The man gazed at the king of beasts with equal parts of caution and battle intent.

Finally, from the side emerged two women with contrasting height. Both of them had an indifferent expression. Ja Sun had the urge to curse. Not because of their apparent soft and enticing features but because he had a slight encounter with one of them.

Viewing the white-haired woman who looked untainted by the world— be it her unnatural snowy white skin or her clothes, Ja Sun realized her to be a Heavenly Snow Maiden. The group of them had once caused Ja Sun and his team's training in the Extreme North to fall short.

Next to the Heavenly Snow Maiden was the Ice Jade Scorpion in a human form that resembled a young girl with her jade green hair tied into twintails yet Ja Sun knew better than to fall for naive charm... well... a stinger or two from such an adorable form wouldn't hurt, right?

Still, this was the end of the waiting.

Every spirit beast with the chance to participate in the battle of this magnitude and survive had arrived and from the looks of it, King of the beasts stood the higher chance in dominating all of them. If not his personal strength then the strength of the force cultivated within the forest made it so...

'Huh? Where's Bi Ji? A healer is usually next to the party for safety reasons...'

As if hearing his thoughts, the green-haired girl blinked her large watery jade green eyed and inquired in a sonorous tone, "Where's Bi Ji?"

Yet, before anyone from the King of Beast's side replied, the terrifying eye floating with its feelers wrapped around it rumbled, "Who cares about a beast that's only adept at lifeforce? Di Tian! The Star Dou Great Forest has one Auspicious Emperor, that we can tolerate. Did she spawn a new one already?"

Zi Ji balled her fists at the Evileye Tyrant's remark.

However, Di Tian kept on with his silence.

"Don't test our patience," the Deep Sea Demonic Whale finally whispered as the surroundings gained a pressure that Ja Sun was all too familiar with and he locked his brows for a moment in displeasure. This was the pressure of sea that Poseidon commanded at every single moment and given his history with the god, Ja Sun shamelessly placed the whale as his target of venting his frustration.

"Let the Auspicious... human arrive then," Di Tian commented softly but his words seemed to penetrate through the entire forest.

"Human?" the Heavenly Snow Maiden frowned for a second, gentle folds emerging between both her brows. She had a few connections in her heart but kept her silence on the matter.

"I can only sense one odd fellow." The giant eye rumbled yet again as Ja Sun felt various intent locking on him. Again, it's not like he went all out to hide himself as he supported himself on one of the innumerable branches of the lair. After all, hiding would get him nowhere. Instead of a quest that assassinated the beasts, Ja Sun took the overbearing path of humiliating them instead.

As if to drive in the point that his position was discovered, others visibly looked in his direction. Confusion, anger, and disdain were the name of the game.

"I... don't sense anything..." The Ice Jade Scorpion whispered under her breath and managed to speak what raged in many other spirit beast's minds, too.

"I know right? It's crazy how dangerous the world can be when faced with the unknown," Ja Sun mumbled, crouching next to the little girl to make sure that their heights were similar.

"Huh?"

The girl looked to her side, greatly alarmed. This time, everyone shared the same sentiment as Ja Sun blinked and looked back at the girl, "You've got beautiful eyes, did anyone tell you that?"

"Huh?" The Scorpion exclaimed once again. She still couldn't process what was happening.

Who was this human?

Even when he stood next to her, why did she still fail to realize if he happened to be real or not?

Not wasting a moment longer, the girl waved her hands, and sharp shrapnel of ice shot through Ja Sun's body and as if a mirage, his body blinked and appeared in front of the little girl as if fully intending of haunting her, "I just complimented you. What's the big deal?" the accusatory tone made the girl uncomfortable and frown.

"It's an illusion," The Heavenly Snow Maiden whispered and the Scorpion fell silent.

"Huh, from the look of your face... you do remember me so that sudden arrival back then wasn't a coincidence, right?"

Seeing the woman nod, 'Ja Sun' disappeared from the views of many beasts that were shocked yet a few heads still hadn't turned— beings who had unlocked their divine intents.

The female mutated deep sea whale also frowned for a moment then eased her breathing while Di Tian cleared his throat, "It's quite enough. Had you wished to escape, you wouldn't be here flaunting your skills."

"Well..."

*Rustle*

Surprising a few, Ja Sun emerged rather plainly from one of the shrubs around and rubbed the back of his head with a genuinely wry expression, "I tend to overdo it sometimes. Of course, I come with good intentions."

Seeing his furred form this time instead of the illusion, many felt stunned for the umpteenth time now.

"You!" Zi Ji glowered at this point, "Because of you—"

Di Tian raised his hand, making Zi Ji swallow her words with a frightening scowl yet her cold stare now also fell on the back of Di Tian's head for a second.

"You have caused many damages to my home. I will give you one chance before deciding whether to leave you with a full corpse or not," Di Tian narrowed his head. Before the foreign spirit beasts could interject, Ja Sun chuckled, "I once saw a dog humping a corpse. So... if you are planning to leave me with a full corpse, you, you, you, and you... hmm, you, too... have permission to hump me."

Pointing at every female forms, Ja Sun made their expressions go bleak while he began to walk within the encirclement of the beasts themselves.

Even now, Ja Sun was amazed that no one initiated any attack. If he had entered a human encirclement, he would be enjoying blades and blasts from every corner.

Not the least bit disappointed, however, Ja Sun decided to take the shot at one beast he did not intend to humiliate at all but kill eventually.

"I'm sure all of you have plenty of questions. However, I can make one thing sure..."

His fur and hair began to sway as a formless pressure escaped his body that seemed to compel the spirit beasts around him to 'listen' to him. Yet, they also felt their cultivation increasing at a higher pace than usual.

"A... martial soul..." seeing was believing and the Evileye Tyrant couldn't help but feel... disappointed.

Yet, at this point, the gold in three of Ja Sun's eyes gained an extraordinary splendor that shook the floating eye and Di Tian enough to morph their emotions into rage.

Yet, revealing how misleading a cultivation base can be, the only million-year-old spirit beast with his own divine intent only managed to feel ominous for a second as a divine intent fully three levels stronger and purer descended on his sea of consciousness and locked it instead of tearing it to shreds!

"Huff, still takes a lot out of me," Ja Sun smiled, a brief hint of exhaustion passing through his eyes yet he turned around to cover his chest with his arms as a relatively tall and buxom figure crashed into him, "You're dead!" Zi Ji screamed.

Flying outright by the attack, his talons having cracks under his gauntlets, Ja Sun crashed against multiple trees, a few branches easily stabbing into his back and thighs as the woman next to the Million-year-old Deep Sea Demonic Whale knelt down to check on the man and her expression turned terrible, "Human, you really are dead."

The blue-haired woman with purplish pigment at the tips whispered and stood up. Yet, she protectively stood next to the comatose spirit beast with no intentions of moving similar to others who viewed Zi Ji chasing after Ja Sun with every intention to kill him.

'Ugh... seven days of this and I can conclude my vacation happily.' Ja Sun smiled, licking his lips while pulling out the branches as the blood stopped flowing almost instantly.

"I thought I would be dead. Oops, you missed," he cackled as he stood up only to flash an even brighter grin at the purple-haired woman with half her body covered in resplendent purple-black scales as the murderous intent in her eyes grew a notch higher.

"I didn't," Zi Ji hissed, her scaled claws tearing down at Ja Sun.

For a moment, Zi Ji felt something wrong and this feeling was fully realized when Ja Sun's fists suddenly glowed a silver light while a runic, golden halo covered his wrist.

*Bang*

Claw met a curled talon.

*Swish*

Unlike the previous exchange, Zi Ji went flying this time. Yet, instead of falling, fleshy wings grew out of her back and stopped her flight high in the sky.

For a second, Zi Ji glanced warily at the tyrant eye floating mid-air only for her to hear the eye's mocking words, "Focusing on me after picking a fight? Oh, Di Tian, your subordinates have you arrogance but not your might."

"Huh?" Feeling something off, Zi Ji looked behind her to find a Ja Sun already floating behind her with two pairs of enchanting silver wings and the ends of his limbs glowing a deep silver light. Two notable golden halos now covered both of his wrists.

"Like the disgusting eye said," Ja Sun smiled.

Ja Sun's fist easily smashed into Zi Ji's face but she didn't stop anymore. Despite blood flowing out of her mouth, her claws still shot after him, however, the light in Ja Sun's fist expanded and Zi Ji felt a terrible shocking force pass through his fist, almost knocking her out and stopping her attack midway.

"Sigh... it's no good... it's no fun!" Ja Sun exclaimed, shocking other beasts as Zi Ji still floated while regaining her bearings.

'Are these beasts dumb... no... they just... aren't humans...' Ja Sun narrowed his eyes as he noted that the beasts would rather have him get a one-on-one fight with others which was... foolishness beyond!

'Should I just attack them?'

'Wait a minute... not attack them but threaten to take their most precious treasure. Beast or human, that's something bound to set them off.'

Ja Sun narrowed his eyes. He could currently think of two things that fell under this category.

"Bastard! Because of you, Sister Ji was exiled. If it wasn't for you..." Zi Ji hissed the moment she came to be. Her thin form slowly bulging and growing as the Abyss Demon Dragon began to revert to her true form.

"Exiled? How sad," Ja Sun mumbled, "But you don't expect me to wait until you transform, right? Hey, want to see something cool?"

He grinned as his fists, feet, and lower two wings suddenly lost their silver glow while the upper pair of wings began glowing outrageously.

"I am speed."

With that, Ja Sun reveled in speed as fast as teleportation. When he appeared a bit farther away from the stunned Female Deep Sea Demonic Whale, he was bleeding from a few areas and his eyes were bloodshot, "Damn... my body actually can't handle spatial impacts..."

Although he gasped, Ja Sun already held the comatose Deep Sea Demonic Whale in his arms, shocking everyone including the King of Beats and the Evileye Tyrant hovering above.

'This human... is dangerous,' Di Tian narrowed his eyes. Yet, if Ja Sun heard his thoughts, he would have wanted to smack the spirit beast!

If he considers Ja Sun a threat... then attack!

Just how unresponsive a crowd can be?

Ja Sun even felt a little embarrassed at this point as if he was a strip dancer doing his best to goad customers into just attracting their attention... yet, no matter how much he twerked, the customers spared him not even a glance!

It was mildly infuriating.
