Chapter 2

The sound of a door opening wakes Rezo up. He realises he is on a bed and turns his head to see where he is,he then sees Tash siting on his bed just quietly just looking at the ceiling. Tash notices a gaze upon himself and turns to look and sees Rezo finally awake. "So you are finally awake,you woke up right one time"he said looking at his face. After saying that,he pointed in a direction making Rezo know they were not alone. Rezo then slowly sat up on his with one hand on his forehead and notices other three people sitting on their beds and two others standing. He sees some familiar faces and recognises them to be Marco,Winny And Pipi sitting on their beds with Lade and a mystery woman in a lab coat standing just infront of the door. It was then Rezo realised he was in a medical room. He then realises all his injuries had been treated without leave any signs.

Lade walked towards Rezo's bed and stood in front of him saying "was the bed that comfortable for you to sleep that long". Rezo seemed confused after hearing this statement ,that was when Lade realised no one had told him how long he been at sleep. She continued saying "don't worry kid, you've only been out for 10 hours". At that instant,a moment of silence was observed in the room. Rezo realising what he had heard,he instantly entered a panic mode looking for his stuff to leave. There was a sudden burst of laughter in the room, he looked confused at everyone. "I have already contacted each of your guardians and explained the current situation to them telling them not to worry because everyone is safe" Lade explained to him. This statement relieved Rezo and the others.

After the little confusion had been resolved, Winny asked Lade who the mysterious person with her was. Lade then turned and introduced the mystery woman, " that's Niko, she is a researcher and the doctor who treated you kids, thank her later". Everyone turned to look at her once more. From her appearance,one could tell she was around Lade's age and had blonde hair,nice curves and a well toned dark skin. She said hi to everyone. After Niko's intro, Lade began explaining why she and Niko had visited them telling them the test results have already been released to the other participants and those who passed had been allocated to various posts due to their performance. A little tension came into the room but Lade eased it by telling them they all passed the test.

Niko suddenly took the chair beside her, sat on it,took a box of cigarettes and a lighter,light her cigarette before she began her explanation.She started by informing them what rigs were. "Where should I start, rigs are martian technology that was exposed to the world after the human-martian war fought 20 years ago. After some research and the help as martians,they found a way to use rigs to help themselves battle against the aliens that appeared from the rifts which was synchronisation. Anyone could use a rig and when equipped with one,a person's stats can be increased for a period of time as long as they have 0.1% and above sync with their rigs. This technology was revolutionary,it helped develop the planet to where it is now but what made them special is the innate ability in them known as gears. A rig's gear can be unlocked by having a sync of one and above percentage with your device. The higher your sync with your rig,the stronger your gear gets. During the test, you 5 had some interesting rigs and gears displayed for us to see. I noted everyone here's rig, its current gears and the synchronisation percentage you kids have with your weapons".

She then took out some sheets of paper from lab coat and exhaled smoke from her mouth before explaining their abilities;" hmm" first on the list was Marco,who has two rigs: a pair of gloves and a pouch. The pair of gloves seem to have an absorption and release gear. Currently what he can absorb with his glove are both impact and materials as seen in the test and then we have his pouch,it connect to a small space as the size of a small room. It seems before the battle, he had filled has pouch with enough water to cause the devastation he caused during the test. She further explained that his release gear doubles the speed at which something is release to when it was absorbed. Explaining that after taking direct impact from the PET with his glove,he then absorbed water combining both then releasing from the other glove ,a highly pressured carbonated water attack. It seemed the absorb-release gear had a timer but she was impressed. His sync with both his gloves and pouch was 9.1% and 6.3 respectively. Next was Winny,she has two rigs:a pair of boots and dual daggers. Her boots had an interesting type of gear: acceleration and wind control. Niko stated from her sheets that Winny's boots gave her the ability to move 5 times the speed of a normal people and when she compresses the air under her boots and release it in one go,she breaks through the sound barrier and achieves the speed of sound. As for her daggers,their gears hadn't been unlocked but they increased her strength stats. Her sync with her boots and daggers were 11.7% and 0.8% respectively. We now have Tash,Niko said after making a little sigh. No wonder he picked your interest,Niko said looking at Lade. Lade smiled back at her. Tash had a single rig, a gun. It had a silence and invisibility gear. When he uses silence, bullet shot from the gun makes no sound and even after collision,make no sound and when combined with invisibility,the bullets become undetectable with ones normal senses. His sync with his rig was 8.2%.

She moved on to Rezo,who she stated to have three rigs:goggles, a pen and a pocket knife. Two of the them had their gears unlocked been the first two. The goggles possessed a thermal vision gear which allows him to see heat signatures emitted from a source (both people and objects) which helped him to easily locate the PET's core and can also use it to read people's movement by seeing how heat moves within one's body. He also has an electric gear from his pen as seen in the test but something really intrigued her. Before the PET exploded,he electrocuted himself thereby temporarily unlocking hysterical strength increasing the output of his body and goggles to evade any debris from the explosion that could have fatally injured him. She liked what she read. Even though his pocket knife didn't have a gear currently, it seems to rather provide a decent amount of agility stats for him. His sync with his googles,pen and pocket knife was 5.9%,2.5% and 0.9% respectively. Finally, she moved on to Pipi, the MVP of the test.She continued that Pipi had one rig, a katana but after observating the weapon in action,Niko speculated that her weapon me that be a dual rig,a two in one weapon. She had two gears,mass control and phasing. She could increase the mass of the sword to make her attack power increase and lightening it to make its movement easy. The phase gear of her sword allows her sword to penetrate true anything solid without necessarily cutting it. Niko further explained that Pipi used both abilities simultaneously to take out the PET,she first increase her sword to the highest mass she to could achieve whiles phasing her sword. The moment the sword was about to completely phase through its crystallized skin of the PET before reaching its insides then its core,her undid her phasing creating a massive crack in the PET's skin enabling her to strike its core multiple times and defeating the PET. Her sync was 17.5%. After stating her report,Niko looked at Lade and the Lade continued; "since you 5 are the lead players during the test, I am here to personally inform you of where you have been posted in the Ghuns",she then smiled.
