Chapter 29: Lovely To Meet You

Ara had excused herself from dinner, and he had been a little relieved by her absence. Princess Lila and General Lark had spent the entire time talking about all the things they’d do once they hit land, while Acheron had only wanted to be alone.

Now they had finally reached the port of Ravenshall, and even if he didn’t want to be there, he was glad he would be able to put some real distance between him and Ara.

He ordered the horses to be let down first so he and General Lark could get to Ravenshall Castle as soon as possible. It would be better to introduce himself to Lady Seraphina and her parents without Ara or Princess Lila in the same room.

Thankfully, they weren’t expected in the town for a few weeks, so no one besides the people at the castle knew he was coming. That meant there wasn’t a reception committee waiting for them at the docks, and the townspeople had no idea he’d be passing by.
