Chapter 27: Hate

After two days, being on a ship with Prince Acheron was beginning to feel like torture. Ara tried to keep all her interactions with him short and curt, but all she wanted was to be alone with him again. He seemed to have gotten the hint during dinner that night, so now he appeared to be staying away from her, too.

The next two days, Ara spent most of her time inside, exercising in her room and talking to Princess Lila when she joined her for breakfast or lunch. They still had dinner together with Prince Acheron and Lark, but they kept their chatter mostly about the ship and their past military experiences. General Lark loved talking about fighting and battles, so it was easy to let him go on and on.
