"Zen? Aqua?" Haru exclaimed in surprise.
The two incredibly good-looking men shifted their attention to her and their faces suddenly brightened.
"Sister-in-law!" The men chorused and ran towards her to give her a big hug.
However, a strong gust of dark wind swept the two away and threw them on the opposite side of the room.
"You disturbed my wife's peaceful time. You must be tired of living your immortal lives." Adis said with a 'smile' on his face.
The newly arrived men trembled and hugged each other in fear. Everyone in the realms knew how frightening the King of Umbra was, more so, to these two younger brothers. The people close to Adis knew the true meaning of his 'kind' smile -- excruciating death!
If anything, his genuine smile was ONLY meant for one person alone, his beloved queen, Haru.
"Adis, welcome home!" Haru greeted warmly.
Adis shifted his attention to Haru and completely forgot his murderous plan. His facial expression changed immediately upon facing her. His eyes softened and flashed his gentlest smile.
"Mn. I'm home." Adis responded and embraced her tightly.
He buried his face against her hair like he usually did and inhaled her sweet flowery scent. Her presence immediately calmed him down.
Zen and Aquarius heaved a long sigh of relief. Their big brother was really scary.
"Waah! So it's true that a man who changes his expression and personality in a heartbeat was the most dangerous." Zen carefully whispered to Aquarius.
"Sshh! Do you have a death wish? He'll kill you if sister-in-law hears it." Aquarius whispered back.
But of course, Adis' delicate and sweet wife didn't have any idea about her husband's true form. Adis made sure not to show his crazy and evil side to her as much as he could. The only time she saw his true nature was when he started a tragic war almost a year ago. Even then, Haru still thought that her husband was kind and gentle.
"Tsk! Talk about a foolish couple." Zen continued as he remembered how lovey-dovey these two love birds all the time.
The King of Atlantis just gave a helpless smile.
"How are you feeling?" Adis asked worriedly. Guil was reflected in his beautiful demon eyes. "I'm sorry about last night... I lost control."
In reality, he always loses control whenever they make love. Loving his Haru was his only addiction and he didn't have any plans of curing it.
"I'm okay," she answered softly. She stood on her tippy toes and showered his chin and jaws with sweet kisses to ease his guilt. "After all... I enjoyed it so much." She whispered her last statement in his ears.
Her coquettish act sent hot shivers down his abdomen, arousing the sleeping demon in his pants. He took her soft hands and kissed her fingers one by one. His eyes were intently fixed on hers, glazed with dangerous lust only meant for her.
"Don't excite me too much. You know how much I love to make you cry." Adis warned huskily.
"STOP!" Zen screamed out to get their attention. "Ahh, Aqua, my eyes! My innocent eyes! It was now dirtied by this idiot couple." He cried out dramatically as he rolled to the floor while holding his eyes like a child.
Aquarius ignored his childish drama. "Please don't exaggerate, Zen. There is no longer any innocence left in your body. Everyone in the realms knew that you change women as often as you change clothes. Besides..." He trailed off and looked at the couple in the room helplessly. "It seems that they don't care even if you blind yourself and die."
It was true. Despite the commotion, Adis and Haru were still in their own lovey-dovey world. One could almost see flowers and hearts popping around them.
"I'm envious! I want to fall in love, too." Zen complained while gnawing his handkerchief.
"You just broke up with a fire fairy two days ago and a water nymph four days prior." Aquarius refuted indifferently. He then cleared his throat loudly and called out Haru. "Sister-in-law, please forgive us for suddenly barging in here."
Haru shook her head and smiled. "No need to apologize and be formal. We are family, aren't we? Why don't we talk about your business over a meal."
And as if on cue, Millie and Hannah finally came and announced that their meal was ready to be served.
During the meal, Zen and Aquarius immediately discussed the reason for their visit. While Adis was silently serving and feeding his wife her meal.
"Sister-in-law, have you decided if you will attend the banquet in Lumine the day after tomorrow? It's about time for you to make your appearance to the public again. The winter is about to end." Aquarius calmly started. Amongst the three brothers, he's a level headed person and a true gentleman. "The society misses you. Your presence alone is enough to shake everyone's heart. After all, you are this world's only spring goddess."
Zen childishly added, "Big brother, you are hogging sister-in-law all to yourself. Sister, you no longer play with me! You used to visit Lumine often in the past."
"I'm sorry. I've been engrossed in helping Adis with the development of Umbra." Haru explained apologetically.
"No need to apologize. You are my queen. You can do whatever you want. No need to explain yourself," Adis gently chided. Then he glared at his two brothers, "Show your respect to your sister-in-law."
Zen hung his head low and with a low voice he sobbed, "I'm sorry, sister."
Aquarius agreed, "T-that's right, sister-in-law, no need to explain." He suddenly clapped as if he remembered something. "Oh, that reminds me. Umbra has become really famous nowadays due to the improvement of its... hmm, what do you call it again in your world?... Ah, infrastructure and agriculture, right? Zen and I were so surprised to see it with our own eyes. We thought that the news was just exaggerated but it was actually true. I knew that sister-in-law was the innovator of these ideas."
"That's right, our sister-in-law is really incredible!" Zen complimented her. "Can we also implement those in our realms?"
On Haru's first day of becoming the official queen of Adis, she noticed that despite being the realm of the demons, beasts, and undead, Umbra was the richest realm. Due to great fear and respect for Adis, the citizens were also very disciplined. Gone were the days where dark entities are known to just lay waste on the land. Laws were strictly implemented and heavy punishments were given to violators. Very few dared to commit a crime as they all knew their king's ruthlessness.
But, due to the citizens' dark magic and short temperament, many beings, especially humans, were still afraid of them and failed to see their good nature.
It's because of these that she was inspired to elevate the realm's economic condition. She proposed to her husband some modern ideas from her world. They started with the easiest and most basic one -- Agricultural development. Then, they discovered that the land was rich in oil, which led them to oil mining. Electricity and Infrastructure development came after. She was so engrossed in the development of her kingdom that she completely forgot the realms above.
"Now, now, that can be discussed some other time. I believe there is a reason why you are bringing up the banquet, resulting in your sudden visit." Haru wiped her mouth with a napkin before speaking directly to the point. "Is this related to the new Oracle?"
"My, my! The queen of Umbra is very perceptive, truly a force to reckon with. I am beginning to worry about my Atlantis. You are indeed a perfect match to the powerful and ruthless god of war, Adis." Aquarius sincerely praised her intelligence.
"Pfft," Zen snickered. "I wonder what would be everyone's reaction once they find out that your timid and submissive behavior is all just an act."
"Fufu, I agree with being the perfect match for my husband, but the rest, I dare say that you are overestimating me. If anything, I am just an ordinary girl that happened to have reliable people and a doting husband." Haru chuckled her reply gracefully.
Aquarius nodded, "In that case, you must have heard the rumors about her interest with big brother?"
"Mn," she nodded her short reply.
Adis reached out his hand to playfully intertwine his fingers with hers. Whether it was his way of easing her worries or just out of habit, no one knew but him.
"That's it?! That's your only reaction? We are talking about your potential love rival here." Zen was flabbergasted at her nonchalance. He stood up in disbelief.
"Zen calm down," Aquarius appeased.
"I'm sure your 'reliable people' also informed you about her shameless announcement to the public. She said that after the church formally declared her title as Oracle, she would propose marriage to big brother as her reward." Zen continued with an exasperated expression. "How could you be so calm when that white lotus bitch was indirectly announcing to the world that she'll kick you out as big brother's queen?"
Yehey, my 3rd chapter for today! :) Oh no, there is already a threat to our lovey-dovey couple early in the game.
Watch out for more dog food from our idiot couple. xp
