In this world, Bai Xinfei is going to take up the role of Xia family's most unfavored son, Xia Xiaodan or little dawn. He was named Xiaodan because he was born when dawn came. The original soul of the body he possessed was born by Tang Xiu, a maidservant in Xia Family's household. Xia Nianzu is the name of his father, the current family head.

[ When the apocalypse came, Xia Family was the first family to have been infected by the virus. The reason for this is because a meteorite containing the Z virus fell at their mansion. It created a large hole at the roof and even formed a small crater when it landed. Only a few family members survived that day, with an exception for others that are unrelated.]

Bai Xinfei frowned, is the virus really dangerous enough to cause such destruction? Well it might work if the range of infection is wide enough to cover a whole mansion. It will also make sense if the virus is airborne.

[The few survivors included Xia Weiyuan the eldest son, Xia Bolin the fourth son, Xia Xiurong the third young miss, Xia Yuan the eighth young master and also the youngest. Then lastly, Xia Xiaodan the sixth young master.]

Hmm? What about the family head and the mistresses? What about the wife? The plot didn't seem to include them. So does that mean they're still alive? His head tilts in confusion.

[Xia Yuan is Xiaodan's younger brother, they were both born by the same mother that unfortunately died after Yuan was born. Both brothers mostly stay at their grandma Tang Suyin's home because they'll only be put in trouble if they stay at the mansion. Apart from the eldest son named Xia Weiyuan, everyone else treats both of them as an eyesore.

When the apocalypse came, the two brothers were accompanying Suyin to purchase food and necessities in the store when strange people with dilated eyes and skin to rotting flesh broke through the shop then started biting and gnawing at others. Making the place bloody and screams full of fear echo.

Both brothers were frightened but grandma Suyin was smart enough to knock some sense to the two boys and get them moving. But due to bad luck, some infected noticed their presence when they were trying to sneak away. And it's also because of this that Grandma Suyin lost her life.

Stuck in a corner with no way to escape, Xiaodan ran for his life while carrying a tear-stained Yuan despite how heavy he is. It was at that time that they've met the Female Lead of the world, Tian Lihua. Both of them hailed her in their hearts as their saviour.]

He couldn't help but feel incredulous. Wait, isn't that too fast? Can they atleast just think of it as a passing? Why do the original host and his brother think of the FL as their saviour when they don't even know her much? Bai Xinfei shook his head and continued reading.

[She was the one that killed the zombies that were chasing them. But it wasn't because she was a kind woman, she simply killed those zombies to test an ancient relic she chanced upon and the powers she has in her past life.

After seeing the relic's destructiveness as well as knowing that her powers regressed to the lowest level, she quickly left and ignored the two. ]

Bai Xinfei tried to scroll through the contents contained on the holographic black screen frantically with his nose crinkled and in disbelief as if expecting more words to follow up after but is bound to be disappointed.

"That's it?"

He asked, brows furrowed in confusion while his head shifted to the miniature black dragon by his side, not knowing what to expect. He was already used to looking through long plots in complete detail rather than the vague one he just finished reading.

["Yes, that's it."] replied system 009 with a yawn. "Why is this host of mine asking such a question?" it thought.

"Butー"

System 009 cut him off, ["Isn't it obvious? You were bound to 'The Plot' so it's only natural that you'll get the complete version of it. I'm a Rebel System so I am only able to know what the rebel souls and systems know. Only the System 001 has the plot's complete version, as per it's most known title called 'The Plot'."]

This time, Bai Xinfei became utterly confused. Just how many things did he not know in life? What rebel? What soul? What reset? And what does the world breaker title mean? He previously only wanted to ask about that term he saw in the contract.

But now... the pile of questions that accumulated when he got transported to his first world just increased.

Swallowing down all the questions he's been wanting to ask up till now, Bai Xinfei just decided to ask one first. "What's a Worldbreaker?"

The black dragon's eyes grew wide, seems like it didn't expect him to ask that question. ["T-that..."] 009 trailed off a bit on its speech, ["You'll know once this world is completed."] And just like that, System 009 vanished in a puff of smoke. It's probably inside the system space.

With question marks plastered across his face and head tilted in confusion, Bai Xinfei muttered under his breath. "Once I complete this world? Can't it just tell me now?"

Looking around, Bai Xinfei inspected the surroundings. Clean marble hallways, expensive chandeliers, golden-framed posters portraying his current body's ancestors, and exquisitely decorated cream white walls. The hallway is already designed with such brilliance, what more of the other parts?

He scoffed at such grandeur and found it hard to believe that this is what that run down and old mansion with moss and cracks formerly looked like.

Is this what you call a family rooted in the underworld? Aren't these people more like rich second generation nobles who likes flaunting off their wealth? Even his family don't use gold for a deceased ancestor's frame!

Not wanting to stick around a little more longer being surrounded by such expensive items, Bai Xinfei hurriedly tried to reach wherever the exit is without being found.

There are only a few people inside the mansion today and he'd rather not meet them otherwise, he is going to have a hard time trying to extricate himself.

During the process of finding the exit, he even got lost a few times and have to go to the corridor then the living room back and forth. After walking in circles a few more times, Bai Xinfei can already imagine System 009 rolling its eyes as it gave him the map.

While averting his eyes in embarrassment, Bai Xinfei headed to where it pointed, only to realize that it was just located right into the living room where he's been passing through.

As he was burning at the spot in shame, System 009 didn't forget to remind him. ["Xia Ye, the third young master and first young miss Xia Meixue will soon be arriving."]

Shaking out from his stupor due to his recent actions, Bai Xinfei expressed. "Right, but before that, can I ask another question?"

["Go on."]

"When will the apocalypse start to happen?"

["Four days starting from now, so you should start preparing and complete some extra missions first to gain more points. The currency you've gained when completing missions with the plot is being managed by me."]

"Why though? Isn't it better for me to handle it?"

["Well, you should handle it. But unfortunately, I can't transfer the authority yet due to my current power having been drained after freeing you from the plot."]

"But why did you choose me? I'm not the only one out there in the universe."

["I..."] The System didn't know why it choose Bai Xinfei as it's host either. So what can it even say in this situation now? All it knew was that something compelled itself to bind to the person.

Bai Xinfei waited while tapping his foot on the marble floor, giving some time for the system to sort out it's thoughts. He furrowed his brows, does it even have thoughts?

A short bout of silence filled the place the system and host were at. With one of them filled with questions inside his head while the other thinking for an answer for it's host's question.

System 009 finally broke out the silence, ["I only know that I felt some sort of connection to you. That's the reason why I chose you as my host."]

A connection? But what type of connection? I just met it recently... wait. If I looked into to it deeper, am I not acting all familiar and calm to it now? Is this the connection? Bai Xinfei thought.

Sorting out his thoughts, Bai Xinfei just decided to push his questions brewing on his mind to the side first. He has more important things to do for now. He's only wasting his precious four days mingling here and thinking about the issues he yet has an answer to.

Looking down at the soles of his feet, he looked at the door and pursed his lips. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath. Then letting go as he opened his eyes. "En, let's go. we will only be wasting time the longer we stay here."

And with that said Bai Xinfei, together with his system, departed.
