Being Caught in the Rain with You Isn't So Bad

[ It is raining. Gou Manchu came running to you after school, asking if you have an umbrella. Do you:

> Get your umbrella and share with him

> Pretend that you left yours at home ]

Mo Aini was right behind his little sister in his hoodie, sunglasses, and mask disguise as Theater Club member Jie Taime.

He thought hard between the two choices. Gou Manchu likes people who are kind to him, so he would appreciate it if he was given an umbrella. What's more is that he doesn't like liars and cheats.

But at the same time...

Gou Manchu easily gets sick from rainwater. If he gets sick, Mo Jiagei can take care of him. They would have a whole 'taking care of a fever' scene, maybe unlocking a new CG. Gou Manchu might also take off his varsity jacket and use it as a cover for their heads, bringing them close together as they ran from the rain.

Personality or opportunity? What should be his basis?

Mo Aini picked opportunity, since most of these guys' personality isn't it important anyway, what matters is the amount of candy scenes they can have with the MC.

He approached his sister with his gruff, hoarse Jie Taime voice. "Ms. Mo Jiagei."

"Oh, Jie Taime!" Mo Jiagei was shocked that a side character is still interacting with her even though she was presented a choice option.

"If it's alright, can I borrow your umbrella? I get sick easily when I get caught in the rain, I remember one time that I had a fever. Luckily, my girlfriend took care of me and at least she gets to stay in with me and treat me while I'm sick." Mo Aini rambled.

"You have a girlfriend?" Mo Jiagei finds this Jie Taime really talkative for a side character. He has a lot of dialogue lines.

"Yes. Sadly, she's in the States now. If she was still here, it may be worth it getting caught in the rain again so she could take care of me. Guys really like it when their girlfriends dote on them."

Mo Aini knew he's already pouring it thick, but you can't be too sure when it comes to Mo Jiagei. That girl is as dense as it gets.

Mo Jiagei slightly nodded. "I see... Well, then."

She picked the 'pretend you left your umbrella at home' option, and handed her black umbrella to Mo Aini. "Here you go."

[+5 Cupid Points]

(Yes! I knew it!) Mo Aini cheered in his head.

"Mo Jiagei! You don't have an umbrella?" Gou Manchu had caught up to the school building after running to the fields, his red hair soaking wet.

"I left mine at home." Mo Jiagei lied through her teeth. "If we run, we might make it to a waiting shed."

"Here, have my varsity jacket!" Gou Manchu said, covering her head with the Red Hounds soccer team official jacket. "Let's go!"

They went off and ran. Gou Manchu's nose was already red, a sign that he will get sick soon.

"Another job well done, Mo Aini." Mo Aini complimented himself.

"What kind of job involves borrowing an umbrella?"

Hu Chuntian came from the pillar behind him.

His seven-day suspension was over. It was his own volition to stay out of school anyway, he could still go inside if he wanted to because he doesn't give a dam about the rules. He just enjoyed playing with Mo Aini.

And besides, he already disrupted Mo Aini's peace when he changed his status on Weibo.

"Fuck, it's you again." Mo Aini raised his middle finger. "I'm in a good mood so leave me alone for a while."

"What you and your sister did earlier, that was very strange. She clearly could have used the umbrella for herself and Gou Manchu, but you convinced her not to." Hu Chuntian said. "More importantly.... You have a girlfriend now?"

"That's none of your business. Is it so unbelievable if I do?" Mo Aini grumbled under his mask.

"Yes. Of course, I knew you were lying again. It's lousier than usual. In the States? Really? And you easily on get sick on the rain?" Hu Chuntian laughed. "I'm just wondering why you're lying to your sister too. Why are you wearing a disguise?"

"Try to guess, Sherlock." Mo Aini took off his sunglasses and mask, rolling his eyes. "Do you not have anything better to do than play detective on me?"

"That's the only thing I want to do now. To unveil your secrets." Hu Chuntian rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Are you going to die if your sister learned your true identity?"

"Nice guess." Mo Aini praised.

"So I was right?" Hu Chuntian tilted his head to the side. "But you are brother and sister. How is that possible for you to avoid contact with each other? What would cause your death once she sees you?"

"Actually, I'm not too sure if I would die, or just get a penalty. I don't want to know." Mo Aini said. "These forces that's keeping me from showing my face to my sister.... They're more dangerous and omnipotent than you think. You don't want to mess with them."

By they, he meant the system, that literally controls the world.

"And are these forces also the reason why you constantly lie? When will you break free from them?"

Mo Aini shook his head apologetically. "You don't need to know. It doesn't concern you."

"It does. If it's the reason why you played me, it certainly does concern me." Hu Chuntian scan Mo Aini from head to two. "It's like you're a servant to this thing, doing its bidding no matter what the consequences. And as ridiculous as it sounds, the only thing that your actions point out is related to your sister's 'love life'."

"You're smarter than you look." Mo Aini said while opening the black umbrella his little sister gave him.

"I could say the same as you, Da Ge. That's why you were so believable before." Hu Chuntian answered back. "I'm really curious about this whole situation, and now I finally have some answers."

"Did you satisfy your curiosity now?" Mo Aini brought the umbrella up over his head. "If so, I'm leaving."

We walked several paces when Hu Chuntian caught up with him and joined him.

"Who said I was done interrogating you?" Hu Chuntian said. "I won't stop until I get the complete picture. Only then would I forgive you."

"I don't need your forgiveness." Mo Aini said, trying to move away but kept getting followed.

"Wow. And I was told that I was the bad boy." Hu Chuntian smirked.

Most people wouldn't notice two guys sharing a black umbrella. But the moment they saw their faces, everyone started talking.

"Don't they look like the guys involved in the Rooftop Scandal?"

"That's Hu Chuntian and.... What's his name again? Ko Aini or Do Aini I think. Something silly."

"Didn't Hu Chuntian confess to him in the cafeteria long ago?"

"Yeah, I heard the other guy confessed first in public, then lost feelings for him. But I guess they're back together again?"

"How can they continue showing their faces after what they have done in school!? Kids these days. So indecent! I'm better off teaching monkeys at this point!"

"I love gay couples! They're my favorite CP* in Nushen!"

Everywhere the two went together, the crowd of mob characters are bound to gossip about them. Mo Aini had a thick face and got used to it, not paying them any attention. Hu Chuntian relished it, sometimes causing the other rumors by himself.

"I'm going home to my dorm room." Mo Aini said. "Don't you usually go home to your own personal mansion in a limousine? Don't keep your driver waiting."

Mo Aini closed the umbrella and stepped inside the boy's dorm building.

Hu Chuntian still followed him. "I pay him to wait for me even until midnight. Higher than an average public lawyer's pay grade too."

Hu Chuntian's muddy footprints deliberately stepped over the ones made by Mo Aini. Mo Aini was one foot size bigger than him.

"You can't follow me until midnight, the hall monitor will send us both to cleaning duty." Mo Aini said emotionlessly like a robot.

"That would be an awesome date night!" Hu Chuntian wiggled his eyebrows as they climbed up the steps.

Mo Aini stopped in the middle the stairs, turned and looked down at the Tiger Emperor. "I'm serious. Go home, I'm too tired for your bullshit."

Hu Chuntian didn't answer and just keep following him with a smile.

Mo Aini rolled his eyes, mouth in a straight line. It's raining, so all he wanted to do was wrap himself in a cocoon of blankets and forget everything in his life, just snoozing or lying about lazily.

Too bad he won't be able to.

"Ah, they're here." Mo Aini saw two figures from the window.

It was Mo Jiagei and Gou Manchu. Gou Manchu was lying in bed and Mo Jiagei was feeding him soup.

Hu Chuntian peered beside him. "They're pretty shameless. They're using your shared dorm room as a love nest."

"Gou Manchu is too innocent for that line of thinking. I bet he had already apologized to Mo Jiagei so many times for taking care of him." Mo Aini stepped back from the window. "It can't be helped. Guess I'll have to rent a motel or something."

"Why would you need a motel when you have me?" Hu Chuntian offered. "Go sleep at my place tonight."

"No, thank you." Mo Aini checked his wallet, counting all his money.

He frowned, and recounted again.

Hu Chuntian watched him count, and chuckled. "Aish, Da Ge. With that amount, forget about a motel. You won't even be able to rent in a computer shop."

"I'll sleep in a waiting shed then." Mo Aini said.

Mo Aini left the dorm room building with his sister's umbrella, and Hu Chuntian still joined him.

He sat on a waiting shed, eyes bored as ever. "That's your limo, isn't it?"

Hu Chuntian sat beside him, his blonde hair dripping to his clothes. "Yes. You like it? You could go for a ride with me."

"I don't want to. Too flashy." Mo Aini leaned back, and closed his eyes.

He fell asleep, sitting, blocking out Hu Chuntian's annoying voice by focusing on the sound of the rain.

When he opened his eyes again, it was already nighttime, and the street lights gave an eerie orange glow. The rain was still pouring and was the only noise that can be heard in the next one hundred miles. He turned to his left.

Hu Chuntian was still beside him, sleeping with his head on his shoulder.

Mo Aini sighed. He checked his watch. Quarter to eight. He saw that the poor driver had already ordered from a small restaurant and was eating pitifully at the limousine. He had been waiting for his master for four hours.

Mo Aini gently shook Hu Chuntian awake. Hu Chuntian's long eyelashes fluttered. Mo Aini was highly annoyed, thinking that those eyelashes have no right to be that long and pretty.

Hu Chuntian continued to blink at him stupidly yet somehow adorably, and Mo Aini reluctantly told him:

"Ok, fine. I give up. I'll sleep at your place."
